Just got first in the NASCAR Nurburgring race. Just turn the downforce all the way up. I even wrecked halfway through and lost 2 positions. Bout to do it again.

Edit: wish I knew you didn't get any money the second time.

Maybe the mods should make a Seasonal Races forum? If these things keep popping up with 5 races, plus 2 time trails its going to generate alot of threads regarding car choice, setups/tuning, best lines to take, time targets, etc.

I was thinking this as well, but there is no knowing for sure if the refresh rate will keep up like this. It would be AMAZING if it did, but I am a skeptic. Has anyone heard anything from PD as to the status of the future of these events?

Did the Cooper challemnge with just sports supension, Intake manifold to put to 171 bhp and 6 speed short gears.

had to cut some corners and the win came through launching my car at the front 2 in the last bus stop and bashing my way ahead. Not proud of it, but hey it saved me buying all new custom parts for it!
Are we talking about the same challenge?:dunce:
Even with sport suspensions, intake manifold, transmission parts and closest gears possible I can't do better than 5th.

same here, until, I read some of the advice people put here esp. abt cutting corners. 2 more tries later, I got the gold :)
cut the corners, the cooper S handles awesome as long as u step on the brake early, u can step on it and it will still point in the right direction 👍

Ha! Ok...I did cut the chicane and finally won xD
Dirty me....
Thanks

Just made the mistake of changing my oil, rendering the otherwise bone stock RX7 unusable in the competition. Awesome.

Did the same thing and tried to drive it around to wear out the oil with no chance unless I do an endurance. LOL, pretty stupid I might add.

argh, stuck at 5.9 sec's behind 1st.

Mustang Race: Just finished it. No problems at all. Just tune your car to the max, drivetrain and sports coils. done. Really easy as you can see ;)

Focus Race: My hint for this race is to brake into corners. Manage to brake very late. Sports coils are enough as well.
RX-7 Race: So far the hardest, get a decent tune and try to run 1.xx laps. You should gold as well.

Edit: Im using wheel.

These seasonal events are really getting to me......seriously so freaking annoying. Are all of you using wheels or controllers? you gotta mention that before posting your times and tips, cause there is a difference.

thats outta control, what is your tune, I can't get passed second

Tips:

Mustang Race- throw in every non-hp or weight piece. Throw in a bit of adjustments, and make sure to drive safely. It's still a heavy car.

RX-7 Race- this is harder, get a Spirit R Type A, get to at least 390hp, throw all the weight reductions, wing, mods, etc., and you cannot go off into the grass. It'll severely hurt your chances if you do it too much, partly because it has a lot of understeer.

NASCAR Race- get the right tires, throw the chassis rigidity mod in, and go out. Skid Control on, Active Steering Medium, TCS 1, ABS 1, and drive smoothly. It was very easy, got Gold on my first try.

Well, I just raced the NASCAR race at Nurburgring and I never saw another car on the track and it wasn't because I was out front. I placed 12th 40 seconds behind 11th. :indiff:

The Nurburgring is probably the easiest with Skid on.

And if you know the track well ;)

Knowing the track well is the key to easily beating that nascar challenge. First try i won by just over 10 seconds. 👍

I've got a NASCAR, but I must have done an oil change or something, because it has too much horsepower. Anyone know how long I'll have to drive it to knock the power back down?

at least a couple hundred miles.

Ran the NASCAR event at The Ring, got first place fairly easily. A setup made all the difference here. I ran it last night and got 6th. I cranked up the spring rates, and change the camber a bit, and won by 2 seconds. I passed the first place car coming out of the Karussell, and took it easy from there. Also had an off on the second lap, neare the start, lost about 3 seconds.

Won the Mini Cooper event and won the Mustang event by some distance.

Ford Focus and Madza RX-7 events... hmmm. Difficult much? Can't reduce the gap on first place in the Focus event; seems to stay @ 16 seconds or so. RX-7 event is even worse.

But hey, this is what I want :D

Haven't even tried the NASCAR event yet. I hate NASCAR.

RX-7 I bought from the dealership and tuned (didn't oil change) to 393bhp, added transmission, suspension, drivetrain mods etc. Came first quite easily NASCAR event you turn the max speed down to to around 220mph, and it will accelerate faster than everyone else. won that on my first go.

OK, the Focus event is really getting on my nerves :banghead:

The car understeers so much around Madrid it's blatantly obvious where I'm losing time. Not to mention the fact every single time I'm in position to overtake someone, they seem to move INTO my way.

Any tips for setting up the suspension so the car steers better? :(

Anyone have a tune that doesn't understeer like a pig and that DOESN'T use cheats, errr... I mean ... "aids"?

lol the gt community is so uptight about aids.

you guys make me smile.

I just won the Focus challenge with Kingpin's settings. It is so far the hardest one I've done and I won by a mere 1 second, passing the Focus RS on the final long sweeping left hander.

My laptimes were:

1:43.4
1:42.7
1:43.2
1:43.3
1:45.2

If you average low 1:43's to high 1:42's you should be fine. THere is a lot of time to be made in the corners and the key is to brake very late. So late that you'll often hit a wall. I hit a wall on every lap. :S

Also the final 1:45 was due to me hitting the wall on the final chicane, however I blocked the Focus RS so all was good. :)

I also used a DS3 for this.

Not uptight, just been doing entire game w/o aids so far, golding everything I've done so far including the 1st bonus seasonal races.

I just wanted to know if anyone had a setup they won with on the Focus ST challenge w/o aids. After a couple hrs trying, I can only get to within 4 seconds of the leader with my own setup. I need a couple more 10ths a lap or more. Nothing seems to work.

After I pass he second place driver on lap 3, the 1st place driver starts going faster or equals my lap times even though I gain on him consistently until I pass 2nd place driver. Seems fixed.. but probably isn't.

:grumpy:

Roughly 100 miles. Perhaps a bit less. I changed the oil on my #43 Ford Fusion, ran a couple of 15 lap races at Daytona online. I started with 892HP and ended will only 850hp. 50 or so laps at Daytona should do it. 👍

Which IMO kind of sucks, because then you have to leave the online room to go change the oil to get back to full power, after only a few long races. Maybe it was a fluke who knows, but it took a lot less time than I expected.

Skid Recovery is like some eliminator for understeer and almost steers the car for you. Before trying it I thought it might be some mild correction for huge oversteer or something and not a big deal.

Play it how you want though. Having fun it most important..
