Regular GT-R 07, tuned suspension, transmission/drivetrain, max weight reduction, and full aero kit. The aero kit makes the difference.

Sadly i tried this with the my Gtr lm spec. I came in 5th and got around 350k. Did some adjustments and did it again and got 4th and only got 90k. So pretty much if you didn't nailt it on the first try. The million dollar prize is out the window.

The prize money stacks. Ex: If you got 5th place, you win the prize money for 5th+6th+7th...etc. That's why you got 350k the first time. You can't get the money twice, so if you would've finished 5th for the second time you don't get any money. If you add the prize money for 1st+2nd+3rd..etc it adds up to 1 million.

gt-r spec v 09 won it for me.
Front & Rear Aero Kit
Sports Soft Tires
Full Weight Reduction
Window Reduction
Carbon Bonnet
Chassis Reinforcement
Racing Air Filter
FC Transmission (Top Speed Set to 300km/h)
Twin Plate Clutch
Semi Racing Flywheel
Carbon Drive Shaft
TSC Differential
Adjustable LSD
FC Suspension (Front/Rear Set to -7)
TCS/ASM 0
ABS 3

If you even do 128's consistently you can win this easily.

BTW the Honda CR-V one is a piece of cake, won that on my second go once i learned how far i could push the car ;)

What kind of lap times are the people who managed this getting? I can get 1.29s fairly consistently and the odd 1.28 but I'm still nowhere 1st, got 2nd on my first go but just can't seem to go any faster.

Please everyone Please post your weight along with the HP when you talk about this!

I'm 60kg
probably 1/4hp
top speed: 20mph
but my 0-20 time is about 1.2 seconds

Just answered my own question by managing to do it.

1.29 first lap, 1.28 second then 1.27 for the remaining laps and managed to pass the GT at the hairpin on the last lap using the GTR '07.

Can't say I'm a fan of how the GTR '07 and the GT-R Spec '09 handle.

First off, don't do an oil upgrade!

I bought a GTR Spec V and an oil upgrade brought me up to 501HP

Hey guys thanks for the info in this thread. I got 1st last night on my fifth try, and got 2nd the previous four times. Heres what I used:

GTR Spec V '09
492 HP (Racing filter upgrade, nothing else)
Stage 3 Weight Reduction (final weight 1362kg)
Window Weight Reduction
Carbon Hood
Chassis Reinforcement
Front, Rear Aero kit (set rear downforce to 22)
FC Transmission w/ top speed set to 168mph
Twin plate clutch
Semi-racing Flywheel
Carbon Drive shaft
FC Suspension (Ride height F/R -10, everything else default)
Sport Soft tires

Thanks to all the advice in this thread, it really helped. I was getting 1.28's to 1.29's on my runs, and passed the GT40 on the last hairpin to win. The GTR is a beast, handles like a champ and with great speed. Key is to keep your lines, and do NOT bump the walls lol. You lose precious time by doing it. You can really push this car as it handles GREAT. I also used a DFGT if that makes a difference.

Thanks again!

man i can't break into 1:28! I do low 1:29's consistently (with high 1:29s on first lap usually). With a 2007 GTR.

Do you take those big semi-circle turns slow? I'm talking about the ones at the beginning and end of the main straight. Most of the time I just bang into the walls and i'll still maintain a low 1:29... i cant figure out how to post faster times by taking those turns slow?

Do you guys drift that short semi-circle turn too?

wow finally! Got 1st lap in 1.30,
2nd was a low-1.27 (drafted a car on the straight),
3rd was mid-1.27,
4th was a mid-1.27 and

5th lap was a high-1.28 (due to spin-out finish move)

I figured out using the walls as brakes is not so bad! But it will mess up your paint job...

Here were the settings on the 2007 GTR (491 HP, 1411 kg):

Downforce = Max (22)
Trans. = 168 MPH
Acid = 7/6, 19/22, 20/20
Split = 10/90%
Suspension = -20/-13, 12.6/ 15.3, 6/6, 5/5, 4/4
Alignment = 3.9/1.0, 0.07/0.19
Brakes = 10/7

What helped was learning the rhythm on the last loop-turn before the straight, as well as how to angle your car to hit the wall after the straight for maximum speed.

If you aim for the portion of the loop with the orange/black stripe barriers going about 120 MPH it will drop you down to the proper speed of about 85 MPH and then you just gun it out of there (it's almost like a 90 degree turn). That turned out to be faster than anything else I could do.

Also, on the short loop about half way through, slow way down and do like a V-shape path on that guy. I slowed down to about 25-35 MPH through there.

...how to angle your car to hit the wall after the straight for maximum speed.

LOL at that tip. Never used the walls for this race or any race for that matter.

Sorry but your car looks bloody awful as well (I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder).

haha yes! but it was worth the 1 mil! Some may call it sloppy driving, but i call it thinking outside of the box...

I wanted to give other "creative" drivers, like myself, some support to keep up the good work hehe

Haha Damm1t, i pretty much did the exact same thing (full speed into the tunnel wall) after deciding there was no other feasible way to shave off the extra 2-3 seconds that i was losing by...

The only difference is I did this with the GTR Tokyo Motor Show Concept, I won it from a License test or something and didn't really want to buy a different car since I could use that one.

This turn I managed to hug really tight almost with my inside wheels on the kerbing, the 4 corners leading up to it are almost flat out, just a tiny dab on the brakes to help turn the car a fraction more.

the first turn I always went in way to fast in a right tangle on the verge of spinning out but held it and flew down the inside of any car I met in there.

the last corner kept middle of the road and just feathered the throttle all the way round, can't see clipping the wall helping in the slightest.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ANY R32 GTR, it is complete utter dog**** even with all the mods, and unless you're the type that can achieve all golds in the license (in other words very good at this game). You'll just be wasting your time.

For some reason in PD's infinite moronic wisdom, the PREMIUM R32 doesn't have a race mod. I had an '89 R32 standard and obviously that didn't have RM, so I WASTED my credits on this a '94 R32 ****box. ALSO putting a front Lip and dive planes doesn't do **** for the car. I mean you have to get a rear wing just to adjust any downforce at all and the front isn't even adjustable!!!
LOL sorry this car frustrates me, even with all the mods and super lightweight, for some reason it cannot lap faster than the '09 GTR which is still pretty heavy even with all the weight reduction.

Maybe some other time in the future I'll give the R32 another shot, but trust me unless you're really good at this game (can race the expert and extreme races with 1 or less mods on your car, you'd be wasting your time!

If anyone wants an-almost completely modified '94 R32 GTR premium with 0 MILES, PM me and maybe we can work out a deal (get me a new '09 GTR V-Spec).

I got 3rd with my 491hp R32 GTR.
Same. I tried it with a stock GT-R Prototype first and only managed seventh or sixth or something (just passed the Merc). But detuned the R32 and managed to do a lot better, still can't catch the R8 or GT though. I never fiddled with the settings - just detuned and raced.

I started like this:

1. Bought an GT-R spec V 09
2. Did oil change
3. Was pissed because my bhp was over 493
4. Did two championship races and three B-spec races
5. My bhp was exactly 493
6. Did the race with all aero upgrades and transmission/suspension
7. Finish with 6.9 seconds difference....1st position!

Tough one. Still a lot easier than the Nascar @ Nürburgring, still haven't done that one higher than 5th.

I bought the GT-R SpecV '09 from the Premium dealer.
Bought the best air filter, the red one. Brought me to a bhp of 492.
Then i maxed out everything else.
Full Aero (Rear downforce ~20) - Full Weight Reduction - Full Suspension.
Twin plate, Carbon thingy and so on.
Remember to buy the soft sports tires.

I got it on my third try doing some mid to high 1:28's and nailing the GT on the very last corner.

It's really not that hard once you learn how to maneuver the car through the track. Late braking into the tunnel & stay close to the corners.
