So the timer is bugged and no ones gonna fix it till the 4th, so then earliest would be the 5th :guilty::(

I do hope the X2014S is a realistic car. I was very pleased to see that the Jr. was a plausible, low-level Formula car, so I do rather hope the S will be on F1 car levels of performance, perhaps.

I know already that the F will be a physics-defying, utterly mental product of sheer witchcraft, and so I have very little interest in it (and, like its predecessors, it will probably be consigned to the role of every immature child's favourite online battering ram, even more so if awarded as a prize during the course of the Red Bull X Challenge, which I fully expect to happen).
The fan car is completely realistic, it's like a 2J on steroids(some very strong steroids)

The only problem would be driving it for a substantial distance, and making tires that would survive more than one turn.

I wouldn't say that. Merc made a big deal about it and I do t see anyone lately endorsing as they did. I remember seeing the concept on netcarshow before I saw anything about it on GT....

Mercedes could make a big deal about it since their concept was the inaugural model in the VGT project, the very first to be transferred into GT6, and they didn't plan on revealing their concept at any shows. They could instead choose to make their VGT public whenever it was ready without having to wait for any particular date. The in-game model appeared a just couple of days after the NetCarShow shots showed up, and weeks before the game's release.

We could expect however to see it any time including tomorrow...

It's entirely possible they could have finished both Subaru and Toyota VGTs by now. Though I doubt the manufacturers would allow themselves or PD to show those concepts before a set date, provided the Detroit Auto Show is the intended reveal venue.

Otherwise, yes. We could expect them at any time.

If Formula One had the rules it had several decades ago, the limiting factor would be the driver's ability not to pass out in corners. The rules are there for a reason

Anyone capable of pushing such a vehicle to its limit must surely require physical augmentations in order to pull it off. :p

... Soooooo, like I said in the other thread... is there any sort of thought that... you know.... this is on Sony's end, rather than PD's?

And Sony's a Japanese company. There are US headquarters, but, I doubt they'd release PD updates just in one or two regions. Especially with a semi-global launch. If they're going to release an update, they'll release it in all regions at once, so, if Sony's people are off for the weekend as, well, then we won't see an update for a little bit.

I think the lesson in all this is to be patient and not to trust was video games say.

Innaugural or not, they are all concept cars that will be put into the game. I don't think however, they didn't plan not to show it at a car show, as it was shown at LA, where they invited Kaz to see it and the design studios. I find that false by my POV as how the events lined up so well.

Yes the drawings and 3d models were released before the production like all cars, but the car was featured online before in game.

What's strange is there was a thread with virtually the same title with hundreds of comments.. .shut down by a moderator(terronium-12) this morning. While there's no doubt, if you are a serious online racer and been playing GT seriously for a few years, You would without a doubt be as disappointed as I in the steps backwards gt6 has taken.
The possibility of an update attached to the anticipated 1st of January vettel challenge is very Hi on a racers agenda .So why shut it down?
Since the hacking in gt5 GTPlanet feels a different place where people and racers cant express themselves and Bad news is not news.

As for the vettel challenge.. hopefully it comes soon . Hopefully!.. . NOT like they put a date on it or anything .

Quite. Though I was trying to give a reason for why Mercedes made a "big deal" about is, as you put it.

Ah. I guess it was their intent to show the real concept at the LA Auto Show while revealing the car design shots shortly before it. That I forgot.

Right it may not be my place to do this but I want to say this. All those people that complain expect way TOO much from PD, if they wanted to release the events on the first don't you think they would have been out already? I got a feeling they were but maybe something glitched and they had to fix it and PD are not required to tell us everything about the game. People need to learn to have patience and not get too worked up over a delay if this is a delay. And who knows maybe they will add this rumor community stuff along with the new Red Bulls so you never know what PD has up there sleeve. Plus just because it said January 1st don't mean anything, for all we know it could have just been a time frame to expect this event and PD are not ready to add it in just yet. I got faith in Kaz that he knows what he is doing so I'm not too worried about this whole we did not get what we want when we were told we would get it drama.

+1

Could not of said it better, also negative comments being made are not doing the community any good as regards Kaz or his team or anyone from Sony reading all these comments. Peeps need to chill out and learn to have some patience.

WHAT? Tell this to your boss next time he confronts you with a deadline.

I gues you are fine when you're being lied to. Many people aren't. So please don't tell us how to react.

If they were negotiating something why did they gave us an exact date? It doesn't make sense. When someone is negotiating nothing is guaranteed.

Can anyone tell me where it said Jan 1st because I don't ever remember seeing a specific date for any update ever!

If people weren't allowed to express themselves wouldn't you be banned right now and this thread shut down? If you and several other people want to keep regurgitating that the previous thread was closed for reasons it weren't you're free to do so, but I find it funny that instead of keeping things neat here - in the thread that's still open - you're concerned with the previous thread that's been shut down.

I hope the fan version can hold the track at full speed on the Cape Ring "jump" or the Mazda Corkscrew.

Any tried the lawn dart, errr the DeltaWing on the Corkscrew yet? I keep forgetting to try that.

I did last night. It did surprisingly well. I put down a 1:25 lap w/o really trying. It handled the corkscrew like it was on rails. Here's hoping the X2014 will hold the road too.

SV Challenge, 10 race series sounds good to me. Not sure I'd have the Matterhorn included tho, Still struggling to gold goodwood in the X car. Ha

Not being an apologist for an event that has yet to appear...
Couple of comments regarding New Year's in Japan having lived there.

New Year's is the most important holiday in Japan.
January 1 is the only designated national holiday, but most businesses are closed until January 3.
Bank and government employees in Japan are granted 3 official holidays.

So the country and many of it's companies are in long holiday/weekend mode.

-------------------------------------------------

There is also a well-known former F1 Champion in hospital now.
Its pretty serious, even his former boss at Ferrari has been to see him.

The F1 driver who is the star of the event concerning this thread...
...is very close to him, someone might have decided the timing's not right.

Not saying its the case, just that GT6 isn't the center of the universe.

This, this and this.

Also, the end of the Japanese national holiday could be on a Saturday, we may not see anything until Monday.

Surely when you are Japanese you know your holidays and should plan your work according to them. The question is not that we really need those events asap, but the give-brake promise way of PD dealing with the customers.

If really like them to stick to only the f1 tracks for that series tbh... But that's just me :P

Don't get me wrong, Schuie's accident is terrible. Not sure why it should affect the release of a game update, though.

My theory on it is that someone at PD thought it'd be a great New Year's gift to release it on the 1st but neglected the fact that there'd be no-one there on the 1st to deploy the update.

January first is an exact day. I hate this type of things from PD. Always breaking promises.
You should be used to it, and know how to take things as a grain of salt.

"Oh they didn't release something on time?"

"Oh well, it'll come out when it comes out."

You should've been surprised that a Gran Turismo game actually released onto store shelves without any push backs. There was bound to be something to follow.

Yes but many will now argue because of what you said it should've been out to begin with.

But then we can argue with that saying it would've been pointless to release on PS3 as ps4 is well on its way to being the standard console.

May I suggest a GTx complaints sub-forum? And then make a rule that all complaining threads be banned except from in that forum.

All the whining justified or not make it hard to be on this forum without being affected. My own thoughts become negative if all I read is negative. It don't want it like that.

Blame PD, not the community, i check this thread daily to see if they finally updated the game, not paying attention to the nonsense, i suggest you do the same.
