I do hope the X2014S is a realistic car. I was very pleased to see that the Jr. was a plausible, low-level Formula car, so I do rather hope the S will be on F1 car levels of performance, perhaps.

I know already that the F will be a physics-defying, utterly mental product of sheer witchcraft, and so I have very little interest in it (and, like its predecessors, it will probably be consigned to the role of every immature child's favourite online battering ram, even more so if awarded as a prize during the course of the Red Bull X Challenge, which I fully expect to happen).

The fan car is totally plausible, the only reason they wont make one is because A: it would cost SO MUCH MONY|EY TO BUILD and B: Who the heak would drive that thing In real life!?

Also a note to those that are hoping for the update on January 13th, just because the cars will be revealed does not mean they will be in the game on the same day, it may take awhile to model them, we all know speed is something PD has trouble with.

They definately have modeled the cars already, otherwise we wouldnt have gotten the pictures of them. this is why i think that PD decided that this updated is small enough to be added into a larger update, which would explain the delay!

I hope the fan version can hold the track at full speed on the Cape Ring "jump" or the Mazda Corkscrew.

Any tried the lawn dart, errr the DeltaWing on the Corkscrew yet? I keep forgetting to try that.

I'd hate to have you as a boss. Yeah, they set up the New Year events on a timer so they'd activate at a certain time. Doesn't mean there's anyone in the office to activate the update for the X2014 events.

Didn't stop them getting the Merc VGT out on day one. They have access to the final designs well before we ever see them, and I'm willing to bet they're working flat out to get them ready by the time the cars are revealed.

They could also be finishing some other features that will be included in the update. I would be surprised to see the Course Maker appear in one of these updates with the VGT or X2014 events utilizing it.

I wouldn't say that. Merc made a big deal about it and I do t see anyone lately endorsing as they did. I remember seeing the concept on netcarshow before I saw anything about it on GT.... No information is known so they could be, they could not be. I imagine it isn't a major lux corp as Merc is as stuff like this should be huge the way the auto industry is transforming. We could expect however to see it any time including tomorrow...

Don't worry, when you grow up, you'll know I'm that bad.
If they set them for a certain time, and no one was there to activate them, then PD have some terrible management issues they need to work on. Even more so, if they were set up to activate at a certain time, wouldn't that mean no one was needed to do the activating?

Not being an apologist for an event that has yet to appear...
Couple of comments regarding New Year's in Japan having lived there.

New Year's is the most important holiday in Japan.
January 1 is the only designated national holiday, but most businesses are closed until January 3.
Bank and government employees in Japan are granted 3 official holidays.

So the country and many of it's companies are in long holiday/weekend mode.

Its pretty serious, even his former boss at Ferrari has been to see him.

The F1 driver who is the star of the event concerning this thread...

A: Insanely dangerous
B: Can't physically be driven

If Formula One had the rules it had several decades ago, the limiting factor would be the driver's ability not to pass out in corners. The rules are there for a reason
