If you're a B-Spec fan, have driver two race when your driver one has a 'down arrow' next to his name will give him time to recover. I think the condition of the driver is related to race performance and experience gain. You can complete A-Spec and other events as well in order to change their condition. Drivers will also start to deteriorate in skill once the number of races start to pile up (I read around 400 in another post). Also as Jeremy1026 mentioned, they can be used for endurance races as well (can't confirm myself) but I suspect that there's a reason why B-Spec races have a required number of drivers.

Just got my third driver (level 10), trying to keep them on the same level so they can be competitive later on in endurance races.

I'm doing the same thing. I'm at 8-8-4 right now.

I've read that you can nominate up to 3 B-Spec drivers for endurance races.

I don't know if they'll be like GT4 where you can swap between A-Spec and B-Spec at pit-stops.

Do not get a second driver till you get above B-Spec level 15. If you do he will just develop slow like your 1st. Rather wait then get 4 at the same time, and give them an Expert championship each in an easy but overpowered car that will win for sure.
Lvl 0 to10 straight away. 👍
