There's that. ^ There's also one where they replace Marlboro with McLaren, or Marlboro with a barcode.

Since they'd have to go through McLaren for that, which isn't part of the agreement they have currently for Senna content, I don't see it appearing at all.

You know they had to license the Lotus from Classic Team Lotus right? It didn't come with the Senna Foundation deal since they don't have the rights to any cars. That only dealt with his image/name rights.

I love Senna! He was an amazing talent, and a wonderful person. A true legend.

But....

Am I the only one who doesn't give a rats 🤬 about "Senna Content" being added to GT6?????

I mean, I would much rather see a fixed, functional GT6, including the missing features (track editor, shuffle, etc) way before seeing this "Senna content".

I've stopped playing GT6 one month ago, I got this game to play shuffle online with friends and was excited about the track editor and none of these are in it yet just HYPED UP USELESS FEATURES, GT6 has become a true money making franchise for PD, not a DRIVING SIMULATOR ANYMORE.

because everyone else is complaining about how the new car is gonna suck and how nothing else is gonna be able to compete with it do you guys realize how stupid you look when you say stuff like that of course nothing else will be able to compete with it there is nothing else like it in the game currently. @GranTurismoGuy if you saw this post then you would see that I'm one of the only ones not complaining.
10 pages worth of a 1st grader's failed attempts at formulating coherent sentences...and no correct grammurz was seen that day.
@SlipZtrEm please make him go away.
Thanks.

This thread is amazing

I'd expect the first slideshow to have atleast something for us in GT6, but since this is PD, I don't really apply the last drops of logic I have in my head when dealing with them.....

Oh well... Back to taking pictures and reading this amazing thread.

I think in PDs case the point was GT4 - they saw it was good and so they kept doing the same thing over and over again.
Actually, I think you have this a bit backwards. If PD had given us a GT5 and 6 with GT4-like content and philosophy, I think most of us would be ecstatic. Most. ;)

The reason that GT4 was so epic to so many fans is that it had thousands of things to do, most of them racing events. And very few of those several hundred cars couldn't fit into a certain range of those events.

Let's pretend that PS2 was born in an age of cheap hard drives and mostly affordable broadband, and they decided to produce the Senna content for GT4. I think it would be all but guaranteed that there would be racing events for whatever cars PD made for us, and they would have custom liveries for many of them, considering that GT4 could only handle five competitors, this should be easy for them to fudge something.

I know this is GT6, and I know the bots are frooky, and I know we know almost zilch about what we're going to get in these updates. But PD does need to figure out some way to give us those races this year. Maybe a bot upgrade is coming, I think almost all of us would welcome something. Maybe as part of Griffith500's proposed mega Spec II, or maybe as some sort of parting gift to GT6 as PD is pushed along to focus on GT7 Prologue. Maybe PD/SONY will host online Senna Special Event races. That's not so much my thing, but I have little doubt that a lot of people will like it. They need to do something though, because GT6 has become a hotlapping game to a lot of people, and that gets old fast. Gran Turismo is good when racing is involved, and PD needs to concern itself with what worked in the past and what new stuff technology makes possible now. This goes double for GT7/P.

I also want to mention JogoAsobi's video above. Something like this would be awesome in GT6, especially if PD Race Modded some cars up and gave them liveries for such an event. I'm still hopeful that we'll get that Race Mod and Livery Editor by GT7, so we can create our own race cars and associated events and leagues.

Some say that this is wishful thinking, but most of PD were there since GT1 days, and were responsible for making Gran Turismo such a landmark achievement. They just need to push away all the distractions, not the least of which is the noise from here and NeoGAF, and pick that torch up again.

true - that "over and over again" -part wasnt quite accurate of me.. :guilty:

The point i was trying to bring up, was that GT4 was the pinnacle when PD got so satisfied in them selves that something happened to the level of enthusiasm they had. ..or maybe KAZ grew up to be an adult?:odd: I think we saw that already as a possible lack of motivation when it took so long to create GT5. (and its not that they took everything out of PS3 with it - that they did later with GT6)

I knew I'd seen it before 👍. I have one of those (similar anyway) in my old bedroom at my Mums house FFS :). It looks much better than the JPS sponsorship anyway. Not really an option when you're a racing team and you want funding though.

I'd be interested to see what any other of Senna's cars that may be added will look like too. The Camels on the 99T for instance would obviously have to go. If his McLaren was somehow added, would the red triangle alone be considered as part of the cigarette sponsorship?

It is possible to have cigarette sponsorship in games, the Forza 4 Porsche expansion had the 962 in the Rothmans livery.

I really wish PD would leak more information on this, but no they will hide it. If EA was running the show or Codemasters, there would be several pictures and complete content overview far before release. Let's hope they release this in May and not lie about it.

Rothmans is not a current tobacco brand so theres no problem legal wise... but a company like PD might not want to advertice past tobacco brand even if it was possible.
What about the Audi pikes peak machine in forza 4? In GT6 it has the, I believe alcohol branding, blocked but in forza it's uncensored.

never mind - answer came already. I really cant tell. I guess its not illegal to show the brands - maybe its just a policy of PDs

I agree with this. It really would make this waits a lot less tense around here. But, in 3 days the first slideshow will be out so we just might here more then.

Yes, and SimRaceway has the gaming rights to those McLarens, except for those featured in new F1 games... and the M23 through the Rush movie tie-in.

Simraceway is PC exclusive only, and Turn 10 got the license for the McLaren M23 from McLaren, no garbage Rush movie tie in deal needed

Dan Greenawalt:

we got the Ferrari and McLaren F1 cars which featured in that film, that’s a different license and much easier for us to just go to the manufacturer and get. It’s not wrapped up in the current exclusives.”

McLaren formula one cars will feature in Gran Turismo, I can feel it in my bones :gtpflag:

I emailed them and asked, they said they were exclusive to Simraceway on all platforms.

Thank you for contacting Simraceway support, I understand that this will relate to all platforms and specifically to the content available at that time, as it's been a while since that statement was released the newer F1 models may appear in other titles aside from Simraceway.
