Really? That's what you want to do with it? You want to butcher a piece of motorsport history just so that you can have a racing seat?

What an amazing piece of Formula One history. Imagine having that on your wall.....

Wow ... if I understood correctly, that's even better than Senna's first F1 car. That's the MONACO car. I doubt it, but I hope the Senna Foundation gets that car, or any other institution that will make it available to the public, and not some private investor/ collector that will simply store it away from the public eye.

I hope it's bought by someone who'll actually race the damn thing!

On a side note, i thought this car had been advertised for sale since around the time that the Senna film originally came out?

Well, Senna did brush the Armco (without ill-effect) on one lap during that race, so it's obviously defective. :dunce:

If that's the car he used in his first Grand Prix, then he went through turn one with all four wheels on the grass according to Martin Brundle who debuted in the same race.

It's not. It's a miss-leading thread title (now changed.) He was in a TG183 for the first 4 races of 1984.

There are also two TG184's that he raced:

Andrew Kitson
This auction is mentioned elsewhere and this promotion claims that the car is the one he finished 2nd in at Monaco and nearly won!
This is complete bull. The Monaco chassis TG184-02 is still owned by Roger Cowman's syndicate and has been here in Europe since '84, although is up for sale. The car in Argentina is probably chassis '05'.

Senna used '02' up to his suspension from the Italian GP by Toleman boss Alex Hawkridge. 'Hawkeye' was upset that Senna had signed for Lotus for '85 without discussing it first, so dropped him for one race. The team had been a one car operation anyway since Cecotto broke his legs at Brands Hatch.
Therefore a replacement was required for Monza so Stefan Johansson was drafted in from Tyrrell and finished a fine 4th in '02'. Stefan kept the car for the final two races and Senna used '05' on his return, finishing 3rd at the season closing Portugese GP.
Chassis 05 went to the Auto Toy Store in the USA and has been in the Americas ever since.
Johansson was given chassis 02 as the team could not pay him. Roger's syndicate bought the car from Johansson's father several years later and have all factory documents. The car in this promotion is definitely a Senna Toleman but not the one everybody remembers.

Wow, that double rear wing! Such a cool car, that it was Senna's makes it even better! F1 needs to get rid of the regulations so we can get crazy inovations like that again.

IceMan PJN
If someone did something retarded like that, I'd track them down and stab them in the neck. Someone might just as well convert the Apollo 11 lunar lander into a giant backyard grill.

Woops... hopefully you don't find my backyard on google earth any time soon.

Would fit perfectly on my fireplace mantle.
I need to invest in zipties and duct tape.
Any mounting ideas?
