Settings for Yaris RS

Does anyone know of good settings for the Yaris as I am having trouble with the Professional Yaris race. All the cars are just to good at everything and I can't keep up and when I they end up getting in front again.:(

Fully mod the Yaris with all the race parts and use the medium slick tires. You shouldn't need to do any setup changes from std except for the gearing in the transmission. You shouldn't have too much trouble winning these races.

Well if you had bothered to read it, i am using it because that is the only car you can use in the "Yaris/Vitz" Race. I also moded it before I even started the race and I couldn't keep up.

I've heard that this is one of the most challenging races in GT3. A fully modded Vitz/Yaris will NOT be enough to easily win.

Proper driving techniques and smooth lines are necessary.

Keep practicing holding speed as much as possible through the corners and you'll get it eventually!

For the pro yaris race i found it best to tune the car to the max, but only put sports gears on it, low susp, hard dampers, and increase the spring rate by one r1 press each end. With this and either manual or auto gears i managed to win rome with a 20 sec lead, with medium hard tyres I didn't even pit in - pit and lose, as you need 30 - 35 sec lead to keep position after the pit stop.

I struggled with this one for quite some time, myself. This is what worked for me. (Individual results may vary.)

Tires are the key. Medium, front. Medium-soft, rear. (For even tire wear).

Slam the car to the ground, and set the suspension very firm. The front should be about 1kg softer. (To be tighter into turns.)

ASM is a low priority: 3-5.

ATC is a little more important. 6-ish is good for me in this car.

Anti roll bars sould be minimal, and even. (For when you ride over the aprons, cutting the corners to the bone.)

Gearing must be tuned to each individual race. Use the qualification laps to fine tune everything. I like to set my cars up to hit maximum rev's about 90% down the longest straigh-away of the particular race course. Once you qualify in first place, then you have the fastest car. If you don't win after that, it's you. (This I learned the hard way.)

I hope this is some help.

P.S. I absolutely hated this car.

Hi granturismodude2001 your not alone dude this Series is frustrating me to.

I need some setting to get maximum speed on the test course out of my Vitz/Yaris. :gcar:

Other things I've found out that help are.....:

- Use Medium > Hard Slicks (depending on course)

- Don't Pit, all other cars do so you get an advantage

- Drive smoothly, even if your last you'll catch up when they all pit just stay calm, cool and collective and don't crash....

- Plus use this link I heard it's really good, I just go it today so can't give any feedback but check it out >>>>

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/gran_turismo_3_toyota_vitz.txt

Hope that'll help you out, keep in touch and we can talk about how we do gettin through this Vitz/Yaris hell of a Race :fdevil2:

Best of Luck man, here's a picture to swear at if you just can't stand :toyota: Vitz's/Yaris's Races anymore......:banghead:

The long story....

This write-up of the Pro series Vitz race is from my expanding compendium of GT3 - Blow by Blow. Keep in mind, that I'm not Schumacher, so it's not impossible for you to get these times. Hope it helps.

Vitz Series Race – Professional

...
I jumped in the Vitz and went shopping. Knowing that I’ll use this car extensively for 2 series races I just blew Wads of cash and went for an outright win. Started at 109 HP. (637,945cr.) Oil Change, Racing muffler, port polish, balancing, chip and Stage 2 turbo brings me up to 294 HP. Super Slicks and slicks were purchased as well. Lightened it as much as possible, brakes, Balance…all that good stuff. (498,945cr) Hey, it’s only cash?!?

Rome Circuit 2

These are the Settings I used:
Springs: Front 10.0; Rear 12.0
Ride Height: 89 mm (F&R)
Bound 7 (F&R)
Rebound 7 (F&R)
Camber: Front 3.5; Rear 2.0
Toe Angle: 0 (F&R)
Stabilizers: Level 3
Brakes: 24 (F&R)
LS Initial: 10
LS Accel: 20
LS Decel: 20
Gearing: Autosetting 22
Final: 4.300
ASM=1
TCS=1
Super Slicks on the front, Slicks on the rear.

Qualified with a 1’38.668. 1.472 Seconds on first place.
Which I shouldn’t have, as I got nailed in the first corner by all 5 of the AI, leaving me in last place.

I never pitted, 2 AI pitted on lap 5, 3 AI pitted on lap 6 (by this time I had a 12 second advantage).
I finished with Yellow Tires on the front and Green on the rear.

Best Lap: 1’37.730
Total Time: 16’36.368
Average Lap: 1’39.637

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +39.977
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +40.753
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +41.885
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +42.381
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +43.456

Laguna Seca
I took the lead on Lap 3 and never let it go. Started from Last place.
AI Pitted on lap 6, I never pitted, and ended with Yellow Front and Green Rear tires.

Best Lap: 1’32.222
Total Time: 15’44.415
Average Lap: 1’34.442

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +26.889
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +28.259
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +30.964
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +32.525
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +34.179

Test Course:
Adjusted the settings:
Camber: Front 1.0; Rear 0.4
Autosetting: Level 27

Best Lap: 2’24.863
Total Time: 24’25.809
Average Lap: 2'26.581

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap

I was about 10 seconds shy of lapping the AI again.
I ended with 3 green/blue tires, and one blue tire.
If I had spent 10 minutes messing with the settings I may have gained a few seconds. As it was, I took the corners at 158-159, and topped out at 161-162 on the straight.

I, at this point, could make the pole position and walk away with the series win, based on points. Decided instead to race the SS11.

Special Stage Route 11 2
Reloaded settings from before the Test course, and went for it.
Took a beating, so I had to adjust the settings. Here’s what they now look like:
Springs: 6.0 (F); 4.0 (R)
Camber: 2.0 (F); 2.0 (R)
Toe Angle: 2.0 (F); -2.0 (R)

Everything else stayed the same.

I didn’t grab the lead until lap 5. AI pitted on lap 6 except one car who pitted on lap 5, and 9.

Results:
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +33.387
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +38.064
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +39.995
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +47.722
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +57.594 (pitted twice)

Best Lap: 2’12.747
Total Time: 22’35.425
Average Lap: 2'15.543

This has been the toughest race so far. Knowing the results, now, I think I could have won without playing with the settings.

Series Points standings now:

Me: 40 points
2nd place: 19
3rd place: 12
4th place: 12
5th place: 11
Last place: 10

Exit out of this race, and win the Altezza LM race car.

At this point I went back and won the last race in the series. By exiting out of the previous race, I screw my 100% win ratio. Maybe next time around, I’ll shoot for that.

Grand Valley Speedway 2.

Best Lap: 2’08.375
Total Time: 21’44.112
Average Lap: 2'10.411

I took the lead at the end of lap 2, and ran away from the pack at that point.
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’22.061
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’23.123
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’23.221
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’24.833
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’25.214

AI pitted on laps 4 and 8.
This race irritated me. I got bumped by the AI, and slid sideways. I got back under control and gained back on the AI that nudged me. I slammed him and his rear wheels broke traction. Never lost his line. I think PD has a few things to look at for GT4.

It's all about smooth...

When i was dfoing the vits in pro, i had bought everything including all the hp upgrades. But it turned out i had forgot to install the biggest turbo/NA Tune-up so i was racing for about a month wondering why i lost sooo bad. I did eventually win the 1st race, but then after i was in run and settings i just thought lemmy just check if everything is installed.

Found the problem fixed it and the race was so easy i couldn't belive that i thought it was impossible.
