I would have to check with my friend too. So far I can bring 3 monitors two PS2 slim with memory cards and a two GT4 disc. oh! a 8 port hub and wires. RIGG's of course

I would really love to say "Sure guys bring as many as you want" but I am not sure how this will work out. I have been getting used to the idea of just the 5 of us for a couple months now, but if everybody wants to bring extra rigs etc... and set something for visitors to race on that's fine because as Nick said there is plenty of room.

The real thing is, being my first event planning and a first time out for this format, I was really looking forward to just the 5 guys that initially volunteered as guinea pigs to run the "Devils Own" races. Not that others aren't welcome, I would just like to work the bugs out of the "D-O" format before we run a second LAN. And anyway not having at least 5 cars on the track makes for sparse racing. So if you are going to bring friends lets put together a count and verify what we will need logistically.

Tri-tip Sunday sounds great Kev thanks! Bring enough for my Mom as I did tell her to stop by and meet the gang, beings it's "Mother's Day" and all. :)

No problem for me with just running with the 5 of us. 👍

Just to verify, you did see my comment about needing the grill to cook the tri-tip on?

Reheating is a no-no. :sly:

Yes I saw that, just spaced it and didn't reply. Got a Weber and charcoal. Is good?

Also want to say that anyone that wants to come by Friday night for setup is welcome. Do a little pre-event warm up so to speak.

Perfect! I prefer charcoal as well. 👍

Will let you know on Friday night setup, I may take Friday off, in which case I probably would come over to set up. Will let you know.

Any time after 3pm would be fine. Participants and visitors both.

Alex, have you been testing the cars from the list?

Nick, does two 4 man LAN's sound doable?

Group, can we logistically pull this off? Do we have full 2-day commitment from all those wanting to be involved? Ramon/Kevin, that means your buddies that have an interest too. I believe I will be giving up my "Second Round" Sharks playoff seat on Saturday to be at this LAN event. Damn if they sweep the redwings:yuck:, yeah right up 2 games to none right now:nervous:, I won't even need the ticket.

Sorry to say that it looks like Drew has scheduled a trip back East for next week anyhow, so he will not be able to make it. :dopey:

Ramon, don't forget to bring his coffee mug with you so I can at least get that back to him. 👍

I'm sure you guys will have a blast. GL everyone and drive clean! 👍

Leland - I'll be there tomorrow afternoon, probably by 3:30 or 4:00. Is that still OK?

I thought you were going to be bringing just two, can't you fit 3 in the van? Do you need help loading? How many more do you think we will need? I have an extremely busy day ahead of me, need to complete two paver projects for long standing clients before Mother's Day. If you truly need me to pick some up it's going to be late. I'll call you later when I have a break in the action.

Kev as you see above I have stuff I need to get done but should still be here by 3:30-4. Give Nick or Ramon a call and get my cell# from one of them, not posting it here.

Didn't get as much practice as I wanted but am still looking forward to this weekend. "RACE ON!"

Alex, you gonna bring your macbook and do a live feed? I think we did it one year didn't we? Remember!...no beers before-...riiiight, not going there. :p

Ok all, I am here and ready for those that would like to show up early. Today went a heck of a lot smoother than yesterday so work is done and time to PLAY!

Back in work and bored after an awesome weekend. :(

Quick post and I'll do more later, but thanks especially to Leland for the organisation, venue & spaghetti, Kevin for beers & Tri-tip, Ramon for comfy cockpits again & Will for the longest, loudest, curse-riddled expletive fest I've heard since Derek & Clive when he crashed at La Sarthe I.

Oh, and just in case you'd forgotten:

Not "a-Dee-das"! :p

Oh and Leland, thanks for the recipe.

My pleasure, enjoy!

And I think what I will do for a recap is daily try and get at least on race recap from memory online, right now I am still too exhausted. Probably start a new thread tomorrow titled "Devil's Own Races". I will do my best to remember as much as possible, but the other participants are more than welcome to fill in any blanks they feel I missed.

Hey Kev, remembering what you said about wanting the ability to pick whatever car you wanted for each track, instead of being restricted to the groupings I set up. You do realize that would give Nick the same freedom, don't you? Thinking about it that way I'm not so sure I like the idea of that "Fast Brit" having any more advantage than he already does. :) Just had a leftover tri-tip sandwich for dinner and it was as fabulous as when you finished it yesterday.👍 Thanks!

New thread and first race recap/s tomorrow! "Race On!"

Hey guys. Sorry no results yet. Kevin got me his notes and they are more than I could have imagined, excellent job my friend. Thing is I had a bit of a tussle with a 400+ lb boulder on monday and only just got back from my chiropractor and am feeling a little better this evening. So, results posting will start tomorrow, and I expect all participants to put in their 2cents worth. Thank you for all your participation I had a blast.

I'd have to say that I contributed to that quite a bit myself...and I'm sure Ramon did when he returned sunday morning... :ouch:

...I reckon you ALL know what I'm talking about. Sorry Ramon!!!

No biggie! all in good fun, it's all in good fun. Although I did upset a few with my kamikazi passes. :dopey:

So for the next meet if its still GT4 I still think we should just get to pick the car we want to be in. Also maybe 3 races in 3 different tracks for different types of race series. Lets say one for open wheel, another for muscle cars, rally cars, vintage, front wheel drive, mid engine and so on. So there can be winners for every form of racing instead of handicaping the better drivers.

Dude! You make it sound like it's really easy to organize the cars for an event. I realize that there are lists to use, but I spent a good number of hours putting this one together. Sure it was a lot of fun, all that driving, but still a good 2-3 months testing. I've done one this year, Nick did one, now it's your turn. I'll put my place up for a venue, and haul extra seats if needed. Even do a spaghetti, or other, lunch one of the days. Let me know when you have the car list together so I can start practicing.

And don't forget to add your racing stories to the results postings. Want to hear about some of those kamikaze pass attempts from the pilot himself.

Okay for starters 3 F1 or Cart tracks. Lets see Suzuka, Fuji, Monaco or Infineon and Laguna in the PD Formula cars thats one series there. Oh! we can do an oval too with this.

Second series those Nissan M&M cars whatever they are in short tracks Suzuka East, I forget the names of the other two but I'll get back to that later.

Third series, Rally cars in Rally tarmac tracks hmm?? got to think about this one.

Muscle cars series???Tracks???

Vintage one make series we can vote on.

Lemans series in hmm?? Lemans cars in where else...? we can make this a one make series too.

I'm open for suggestions.
