Just a thread where to share our first experience on the X1.

Here is mine,

I got my X1 Prototype off a trade earlier, after I got it I took it for a practice run on the Suzuka Circuit. This was my first time driving it after seeing alot of gameplay videos on how ridiculously fast it is.

Right off the rolling start, and after I had full control on the pedal, right on that point, this was the fastest car I've experienced in any video game. Keep in mine I dont have an F1 car in GT5. The sheer speed of it on a straight is absolutely out of this world.

I had a big grin on my face when the straight is coming to its end, because I know the first corner is coming. So, I braked early and in the same time lowering my gear and to my suprise I managed to OVERSHOOT the corner. That grin turned into a full on smile as I hit the wall.

So I restarted the race, and said to myself that my early braking would have to be delayed more. I managed to overcome the first corner but that accident wouldnt be the last as I struggle to manuever the different corners of the track. I wont lie that I didnt crash but I have lost count on how many times I have overshot a corner again and ended up hitting a wall or on the sand/grass.

After a couple of ugly dirty laps around the track I managed to have a semi-clean lap. Its a semi-cleaned lap because in one of the corners I almost lost control of the car but I still had good control and prevented it from happening.

It was a relief and rewarding that I have finished a good lap on the X1, with more practice, I'll be able to control the car more in corners. It is just too fast for me and I'll get used to it more.

I tried the X1 challege on the specials events, I have failed to get a bronze on the first track but I'm happy with my lap times I've been getting out of it. One lap I had 1.08.xx as I crossed the line. My best overall lap time was 2.20.xXx, which is not good enough to earn a bronze medal, but for me it was an improvement from 2.48.xXx or 2.35.xXx.

If this car was real and on a real track, it would be a sight that is truly remarkable. Its amazingly fast!

So come share your first experience on the X1 :)

My first experience was starting the Vettel challenge. Then becoming annoyed at how slowly his ghost car leaves the pits (seriously!!). Then I failed corner one, and restarted.

Then waiting for the ghost car to leave the pits again... sigh. Seriously for such a hard challenge the restart time is ridiculous. Then failing corner 2 this time. I then restarted, but was too annoyed at the ghost car to be bothered waiting again.

I quit, stuck my Bob on some endurance race, and went to do something better.

I remember it clearly lol. Got mine from a friend (Vettel one). I decided to test it on the dream car indy race. Started fine, got around to the back straight and opened it up, Hitting 420km/h or so at the corner, i turned as i would in a regular car .... Yep, thats right. Spun it about 15 times after hitting the inside wall and then flipped it when i hit the outside wall.

I had a grin from ear to ear :P

Used this car a lot since, think its got around 60,000 - 70,000 km on it now :)

Exactly my problem now, I'm treating it as a DTM or a GT500 car. I've enjoyed driving DTM and GT500 cars that I have, so I have familiarize myself on how to handle them for each track I race them on, but with the X1 it changes everything.

I got one from a friend aswell, and I have to say that it is quite a handful... Its mindblowingly fast everywhere. Though in the rain, it is quite easy to spin.

Tried the Vettel challenge and don't think I'll bother again, it was terrible. Fair play to anyone who can race them in close proximity lol

Oh sorry. I see this thread is for people who didn't actually do anything to earn the X2010. Later

??? Nooo it's for sharing your first experience driving it, which I guess could be through receiving it asa gift, or unlocking the Seb Vettel Challenge, or winning it at level 35 B-Spec etc. Sheesh lighten up.

My first experience was when I unlocked the challenge, went off very quickly on my first couple of tries at the Nurburgring, then was a little more careful and made it all the way around but ended up about 13 seconds away from Bronze! At that point I knew it was a handful especially with my DS3 but I will come back to it later.

Recently won it by reaching Level 35 B-Spec so is my grinding mule now, and whilst my Bobs are pretty experienced it seems a handful to them too when they hit some traffic :)

I unlocked the event through B-Spec. I heard a lot of people saying it was hard to Gold but I was still expecting it to be reasonable to do. First few attempts at Nurburgring I got disqualified in the first corner. A few more attempts later I managed to go around the track for the first lap. My first time I completed the two laps I got Silver. However I didn't save it and just turned off my PS3 to try it the next day after getting a small taster trying the challenge for about an hour. I then could see why many people struggle as the steering response is different from any car in the game, even the F1 cars.

Tried the challenge the next day again and got Gold in all three in about 4 hours that day + the 1 hour practice the day before making it a total of five hours. It was very fun and frustrating but you constantly learning new techniques to go faster and what the car can do. If leaderboards get put in then it will be fun hot lapping with this car to get in top 100 rankings.

I tried Suzuka on a standard controller and I can safely say, I think it is impossible to Gold for 99.9% controller users. It might even be 100% possible but I will give it a few months and whoever claims to have done it can provide proof then everyone should bow down to that person.

My first experience was quite recent actually. I had just reached level 30 and straight away I went to the Monza challenge because I'd heard that was the easiest one. I had watched videos of people using it so I had an idea of how fast it would be. I was quite cautious as I was braking for the first chicane and surprisingly I took it quite well. So as I was going around the Curve Grande I was thinking yeah this is alright, what is all the fuss about. Then i reached the next chicane and stuck it in the wall as I tried to cut the chicane too much. It's ok now though, once you get used to how much grip it has I find it quite easy to drive, it's just not easy to push to the limit.

I found it hard to spot the braking for Variante Ascari chicane and ended up either losing too much speed or going off and being disqualified. After 30 minutes of trying I gold on the first time I completed the two laps at Monza. I think this is the easiest challenge due to being allowed to cut the corners so much, and this is why controller users can get Gold on this.

My first experience was starting the Vettel challenge at nurburgring. Seb took off in his ghost car. Then I floored it, and ate armco.

thats mine ;) lol

I was only joking, I was bored and wanted to stir things up a bit. I got mine also through the level 35 B-Spec grind and yeah my first experience driving it is summed up in my first post lol and although I've never accepted a gift car myself, I've earned all 950+ cars I have, I actually I do dupe the X2010 and gift it to my friends, just to piss off the people who think it's wrong.

So yeah folks, if you want an X2010 add me on PSN and I'll sort you. Lmao

To be honest i think its disappointing.... its like flying a jumbo jet through a mole tunnel.

I find it disappointing that the majority of this thread is taken up by people who haven't even attempted the vettel challenge and just have them because a friend has gifted them it who probably got it gifted themselves.

^ It's a game not real life mate.

My first time driving It made me dizzy lol.. I had to quickly get out of the cock pit. In most of your cars you know what gear you need for what corner. I was amazed on trail mountain how fast I could go around the big left hander after the straight.

Honestly I don't care to play with it to much.. I get much more joy out of low the mid hp cars.

My first time driving the X1 was a blast, I was giggling like a schoolgirl, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face, it was fun for the first few days.

First experience of driving the X2010? Easy :sly:

Lol no joking aside it's the most insane and at the same time rewarding part of the game when you actually start to find improvements on the thing.

Because driving simulators currently lack the ability to cover our other senses (g-force, physical strain on your body, etc.) I think this car makes up for the loss in some senses by overloading your other ones to make it more akin to driving a top-end-open-wheel-car or a le-mans-prototype.

You barely have time to think about what to do around the Suzuka Esses!!!

I sure hope Red Bull sees the success of GT Academy and they decide to do something similar involving the X2010 because that would just be absolutely awesome. Imagine if a group of national finalists gets to do what Richard Hammond did in Top Gear and the ultimate winner gets to drive an F1 car as a prize? :dopey:

My first time driving it, I was monza doing the vettel challange, waiting for the ghost to go. I leave, ram into the pit wall, get disqualified.:ouch:

My first experience with the X1 was via the vettel challenge, The speed of it felt so fast that it was very hard to control at first so I failed on the vettel challenge alot. Took me about a week of practise to get all 3 tracks done with at least bronze, with a DS3 controller.

Nowadays, the X1 feels like a charm after driving it so much. Its still rather hard to control on the tighter tracks.

Same here, in fact it took me 3 attempts to get out of the pits. Then another 4 attempts to do the first chicane, then another 4 attempts for the first curve then another... well you get the idea!

my first was last night on the monza challenge and it wasn't as mad as i expexted bronzed first try :D (all 3 gold now yey:tup:) although the car and challenge is completely stupid.

EDIT only my b-spec driver is using my x1 now i have 3 it will just keep the mileage down.

Haha me too.. :dopey:

Anyway when i got out of the pits i was like: " WWHHHAHHAAAATTTT TTTHEEE 🤬"..

My first experience was me constantly hitting the inside of corners because I was attempting to drive it like a normal car, took me a while to realize their isn't to much corners u have to hit the brake for with that car

I got mine from someone on my Friends List (his offer to trade for a Speed 8).

I thought I would try something other than an oval to at least try to learn how to drive the thing. After learning that the movements required from the DS3 were going to have to be subtle to say the least. After about 15 to 20 laps of driving the High Speed Ring, I was getting a little more used to this "projectile"! The invalidated laps became something of an annoyance as I wanted to try to get a clean lap.

The S-bend in the middle of the circuit was the biggest hurdle to my clean lap. I found pretty quickly that the whole circuit could be taken flat out.

I eventually resorted to a Restart after an invalidation and eventually managed a clean lap, after which I decided to take a break from the thing. Not sure how good a time I managed when compared to the experts with the thing, but I was quite pleased with a time of 37.096 seconds.

My most "impressive" with the Vettel Challenge was to be disqualified before leaving the Pits!
