Shaving. Total pain, or no?

For me, it's just kinda like an annoyance. In a way it's nice I have to, but still gets annoying.

What about you guys?

I haven't shaved in almost 2 years (apart the edges). I just trim it.

Its not really that big of a pain, I normally shave whenever people start telling me I'm a bit scruffy looking. I got rid of the sideburns I had and now I'm trying to work on a goatee and the little patch of hair just below my bottom lip.

I have a goatee going, since I don't really want to bother with shaving that area.

I have no problem shaving, never an annoyance, just takes 5 minutes for me, and the blades on my razor are going to last me till I'm 25

Apparently it makes it easier.... But I think water works just fine.

I'm 16 and I barely get any facial hair. Usually I'll shave whenever I cut my hair, which is every 2-3 weeks

I must still be growing or something, or my growth is at a stand still (like my metabolism). I've been 5'7" since the 8th grade, and I'm in 11th

To make shaving smoother. Like I said before I don't shave often, so the hair gets kinda long, if I tried shaving without cream, or just water, it would damn near pull the hairs out of my face before cutting them. I use razors ones so its not that the blade is dull.

Shaving cream is dumb. If you can't make a proper lather, it's not worth it.

I use that lotion stuff instead. It makes for a slick shave and it helps take the excess oil off of my face as well. I made a thread about it.

But, anyway, it's no big deal as long as you have a sharp blade.

I hate it, been doing it for about a year and a half now and have to shave once every few days.

I started shaving when I was 14, its only an inconvenience when im running late for something. Causing me to cut myself around the lips, looking like I got in a fight with a barbed wire apple.

I got one of those electric ones that you have to be a complete clot with to actually cut yourself with.

I used disposable razors before, but I got bored of having to put cream on, then risk cutting myself, meeehhhhhh. Its much easier and faster for me to use the electric one.

I'm not sure how people ever cut themselves when shaving. Unless you pinched the skin and just ran the blade along it, rather than using the pad things on the edge of the blade.

It's annoying, I hate it when it feels like the hairs are getting trapped in between the blades.

I just wish I could grow more facial hair so I could learn how to shave with a straight razor. I just get whiskery, so it looks like crap if unshaven.

I don't think ANY of us would mind having the extra 5-10 minutes to do something else rather than shave. I haven't shaved in nearly 5 months and I look like a hairball underneath the chin, but it's gotta go this week for job interviews. And I was one of the lucky ones who used to shave once a month in my teens and early 20's.

I actually find it funny when teens deliberately shave nowadays and think have fun with your future beard.

unfortunately, some of us are real "bears" with the beard. I have to keep a trimmer handy to knock it down before I can shave. since I'm in a job where I don't have to worry about shaving constantly, i take up to a week to bother. I have steel wool for face fuzz!

Electric doesn't work well enough for me except to remove bulk. I'd be lost without my Edge Gel and Quattro.

Indeed. Shaving is pain in the literal sense unless you do it in the shower (and still with cream), or the instant you get out.

I didn't mind doing it in my teens when shaving would get me a clean face for like a week and a crappy 2$ disposable razor would cut through that fuzz like it was warm butter. But then you get a bit older, and the facial hair gets tougher and comes back faster and fuller... it becomes a chore.
