Shelby Cobra

The shelby cobra -stock- is beautiful! So don't give me your oversteer crap!!!!

Oh, and welcome to GTPlanet ;)

Ah, I was just about to make a thread about the Cobra... There aren't any settings on gtvault, so I was wondering how to make this wonderful car handle a tad better.

I've noticed that it handles like a bathtub on wheels, until you hit the dirt. Then it has about as much grip as soggy cornflakes.

The SHELBY COBRA sucks. Its only got 4 gears man and it does handle like...erm... well...whats the word  ... erm, oh yes i got it... **** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(looks nice though)

Trust me, it's pretty bad. I realize it's not an f1 car, but c'mon.
Just try a fully modified one and u will see. I guess all that
weight on the front end has something to do with it.

The Cobra doesn't suck. It's just got 30 years of development against it. If PD weren't realistic, they'd get more stick!

The Cobra only sucks if it doesn't fit your driving style or you can't figure out how to tune it so it does. A lot like the Speed 12 in GT2, a lot of people thought it sucked, but those who could drive it well loved it.

If u cant handle the Cobra , then better stay out of GT3. As u will see more uncontrolable cars like the Zonda, the LM's, the Toyota Race Car.

Just spend time with the car. The Cobra has understeer, but u can fix it. U can go with the more complicated crap, like cambers, dampers, ride height or u can go with the easiest way.

Drive with TCS/ASm O (zero)

:reallyodd Are you nuts? The LM's and the Toyota RC handle WAY, WAY better than that damn Cobra. That thing DOES handle like the freakin Titanic.

I've posted Cobra settings on other sites. The car does suck, but I managed to tame it's crazy rear-end and actually make it turn. I hope these help

Shelby Cobra

705 HP
ALl parts added except LCD.
Supersoft Tires

Spring Rate: 10/10
Ride Height: 85/85
Shock Bound: 7/7
Rebound: 9/9
Camber angle: 3.0/2.0
Toe Angle: 0.0/-.5
Stabilizer: 3/4
Brake Balance: 20/10
Gear Auto Setting: 30
6th: .635
Final: 4.110
ASM: 3
TCS: 4

Wait a second...... How does turning off the ASM and TCS supposed to make a car handle better on GT3?? I must have totally missed something, but when I tried to drive some cars with that off, that caused the car to be too unstable for me. And yes, I know someone will say something about my driving style maybe.....

The only bad thing that the Shelby has is understeer, but it is not the end of the world. What car gets more bashing? the Shelby or the Zonda. The Zonda has understeer and wheelspin. And the Toyota Race Car has wheel spin too. Dont tell me that the Cobra sucks cuz I have personally tune it, and totally fix it. Unlike the Zonda which sux. Even the Zonda Race Car. I got that crap just to pass the Zonda Series and then sold it. LM's go really fast but u have to "plan" ur braking before smashing the walls. Maybe is cuz u are driving with ASM/TCS off, try doing without them, and tell me they dont wheelspin...

that car just looks good. i hate it how the AI manages to drive it like an f1 car, but when you buy it, it steers like a whale and has no brakes. it sucks. why didnt they take the cobra out and put in the gt500 or gt350, sooooooo much better

Yeah exactly what I was thinking.

THE COBRA

What he said that oversteer is part of the cobras handling, and what do you expect from a car that was designed in the 60`s (I cant remember exactly when shelby asked AC for the design). Just race it in the trail mountain enduro stock and have some fuun

stupid keyboard but its soooo sweeet how can I get rid of you ;)

I've found the car to have large amounts of understeer. After I get the springs right, I play with the ride height until I get the handling I like. Down in front for more oversteer. Down in back for less oversteer.
