Shelby is crap....

I bought this car hopin i could get good speed and what do i find? 4 GEARS! WTF? You can't get nowhere even if you max out your gear ratio. Highest I got was 159MPH. It looks nice, but don't waste your money.

for me, thats not the point. you are driving a classic, a part of history. if all you care about is speed, why dont u only use F1 or racing modified cars.

i find it an enjoyable car to drive, if u go against equal competition.

Hmmm, I was thinking of getting that one too.
Looking at the power to weight ratio, it looks pretty good and was serious into buying it.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. :D ;)

Don't buy the Shelby. Take the Ruf 3400 go to the Spider and Raodster competition in pro and win the thing and 90,000 cr. At least that way you have a great looking, crap handling, car and a little scratch too.
Once modded up and the suspension tweeked it's considerably better. It may/will require some changes in technique.

That race is fairly difficult. Not now, but i remember back when i tried it with so many diferent cars. The computer cheats too, they use an elise motorsport in there (ther more expensive elise) and you can only enter the elise 350 (not sure about the number) but you can't enter the MotorSport.

What i would suggest doing is getting the s Lisnece, I know kinda difficult at first, but after you complete 100% and go back, u almost stare in disbelief on how easy it is. And do the Like the Wind race. 25 laps of Test Track, long boring, and what do you get...the 787b. Well worth your time. The 787b is a beast. SAves the tires, 8 laps with mediums , and this thing can bring you places. I actually beat 1st (midfeild) f1 race with my 787b recently

wow.....

the shelby cobra is a nice car i will admit that, but if i'm gonna have a nice classic car i wanna be able to drive it. maybe i can tweak it to get more speed outa the 4 gears. now i gotta buy me a RUF(Porche in my opninion)and have some fun since i'm now in pro leauge.

hmmm....shelby's always had 4 gears....i have that car just because its a classic....and its easy to drift.I also drifted most of complex string with it. and i saved the replay too

Yes the statistics of the shelby cobra may be kinda below what the buyer may expect, but you would not be foolish enough to buy one either ,the best thing is to win the car in the spider and roadster in PRO league, its just a VERY GOOD CAR TO LOOK AT!! It is very easy on the eye, it makes me feel proud to own one.
Not one for handling but more for looks and for decent speed.

Hello A Shelby is an old car in the old days they only had 4 speed and 3 speed manuals back than anyways in reallife there worth a quarter million dollars ($250,000)

In your opinion? Erm, sorry to burst your bubble, but RUF takes Porsches and modifies them to the extent that the German gov't accepts RUF as a car manufacturer... not sure how your opinion works into the equation...

Sorry, I feel like being an a$$ today. :p

That aside, the Shelby is a very nice car... it's problem is that it has some several decades of history working against it. Once you tweak it so that you can get rid of most of the body roll, then leave the TCS and ASM on low levels (or off), it handles much better...

No its not. Basically looks like one, but isn't. Its basically just the body, but everything else is made.

On the subject of the AC Cobra, all you have to do is watch it in a few races to know you don't want to buy one. There's a reason why it always qualifies on the pole and winds up in the basement...

I dont know why all the bashing of the cobra but a little driving of it (testing) youll do just fine. Its a great car I wish I got the red one I won the black one.

Well put. One must understand the history and legacy of the Shelby Cobra. It was a supercar of it's time and of many years to come.

You don't need to buy it, win it.

The price is demanded of the number of cars produced originally and of its legacy.

(I feel kinda like I'm telling a kid that they will one day appreciate those things they appreciate now as well as those they don't)

I wouldn't have bought it, but was quite happy to win it from the Pro race Roadster/Spider race. It's fun to drive, but not competitvely, just for fun.

the shelby is a sweet ass car....in real life. i feel that they slightly underperformed the car in gt3. it shouldnt drift around so much. and the top speed is a bit slower than what you expect. but its a damn nice car to look at and if you like a challenge then its definetly worth winning. (i dont recommend spending 500k on it, a bit of a rip.)

Actually, the GT3 car is pretty accurate. In the real car, the top speed is held (fairly) low due to short gearing and the lack of 5th gear. As in the game, the acceleration is enough to give you vertigo, and the car is very difficult to drive in its 427-powered form. A solid rear axle, bad weight distribution, and waaaayyy too much power make it a bear to control. The Shelby/Gurney Cobra fastback racer handled much better and had much higher top end.

Although it's not ultimately as fast, the 289-powered AC Cobra is really a much better car to drive due to better weight distribution and more usable power.

ahh i see. thanks for the education. but in the movies it seems to handle alot better, but who can believe hollywood?

I was trying to say the same thing, in not so many words (:

It's old, the price is for the "antique value". After it's heavily modified it becomes a fairly nice racer.

But after all, it's a part of history. There's no way it could hang with the new performance vehicles.

Won it, don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be :D Turn off the TCS and ASM and burn up the rears and go spinning on Test Course :burnout:

Well the cobra is now my fav car since i modded it and changed setting's to give it better hadleing. one thing that improves handling is dropping the car down some.

And nigma, if you added full transmission and put the gears to the max, that's why you have 6 instead of 4.
