I just tried to play GT2, I havent played it for allmost a year now, and man are the graphics disgusting and the car control is really bad, this proves that GT3 is about 1000000000 times better. I tried to play it because I read a thread on how its a better game in GT2 forum. The only thing its got on GT3 is the size of the game. More cars and more tracks is all. Im sure GT4 will make up for that. But i was really disapointed of the graphics. Man GT3 is poison, and I love it.

You guys try it and tell me what you think, now i know why I forgot about it.

Keep in mind that it was designed for a console that is now nearly (or possibly over) 10 years old. In all honesty, I saw it as an upgrade from the original GranTurismo. They added more tracks, cars, and upped the graphics just a bit.

I agree, GT4 will make a huge difference. I foresee them doubling the car and track count. Possibly even doubling the length of simulation mode. The graphics will probably only improve slightly, but there will be a noticable difference.

Yea, i did the same thing after i got GT3. I wanted to see how GT2 looked with the "smooth" option for the PSX BIOS and i was so appauled that i promptly took it and many other PSX games i had to the local game store and made a trade in for Armored Core 2 Another Age. yes GT3 is definetly poison 😈

I sure hope so guys but man I really had great memories of GT and GT2 im my mind it was not that much differenet but wow i really disapointed allmost sad. I really miss red rock valley speedway. Oh well out with the old in with the new.

GT2 was surley the best game for its time but you are right. The graphics are awfull compared to 3.
I still get a rush when i do decide to play it

its still a good game,i like taking my cr-x on rally :),why didn't those bastards put the pikes peak hill climb in gt3??

the graphics are good i think for a 32 bit system,gt3 is 128 bit, huge difference

I was talking about this today actually....

GT2 has 2 disks, GT3 has only one. I know that DVD disks hold a lot more information, but it is cool that it was integrated into one disk for arcade and simulation. Of course GT2 had separate disks for arcade and simulation. If GT3 had a separate simulation disk, I believe that there would be so many more cars, tracks, and series to race, it would take like 3 times as long to complete everything thoroughly. That is a great idea now to think about it

A separate arcade disk would have room and ability I think to include features for custom making of races. Choose your track and your competition, could be used so unfairly, but true diehard GT fans would make the races. I could see 6 evenly matched GT-40's all vying for best driver :cheeburga

Glad I just thought about all this :D

remember how long it took for this game to come out,the cars took two weeks to make each!!!,well if gt3 had 500 cars like gt2
gt3 would come out right about now... 😈

Well then that graphics team needs to get to work... You got some anxious gamers out here anticipating the next great Gran Turismo!! Or they could hire a few of us to join the team. We could bring some fresh new ideas to the folks at Polyphony :banghead:

I don't think GT3 would be any bigger if it was given two DVD-ROMs. It only has the number of cars and tracks that it does because of the relatively limited amount of time in which PD had to complete the game. Giving it two discs would have made it a pain in the butt to switch between Arcade and Simulation, just like GT2.

Well I am just speaking for the situation if they actually filled them up with good stuff. I can understand all the time constraints, but please take a good lesson from past experience, make it right before causing problems like previously done!

i agree

Well GT was only 1 disk if I remember correctly, and it was I think bigger than GT3, but than again GT didnt have the graphics of GT3. So i dont know if that anything to do with it, and I also miss the alfa in GT2/

i miss the pikes peak hill climb, and the dodge viper r/t10,challenger(340 six pack!!!!!!!),and the other oreca(whit with blue swuivey stripe)

Forget GT2. I chucked in Ridge Racer 5 the other day (my 3.5 year old likes it ;) ) and was shocked! How did they get away with that one? And what was I thinking when I bought it (along time ago I admit)?!!

Let's not forget about how stupid it was that GT2 had to be TWO discs! Isn't that soooo annoying with the psone's load times???

And now look at PS2!!!!My God!!!!! Has anyone seen FFX?That game is like 10 times longer and better than any of the others and it fits on 1 disc!!!!!!!PS2 Is so awesome!!!!!! :p :cheeburga

Well, I dunno about that. It's definitely better than eight or nine. I think it's one of the shortest FFs I've played. :2cents:

For the ultimate FF pleasure, getcherself a copy of FF Anthology and play through FF VI. Well worth the dough...especially when you consider the original cartridge was $80!

GT3 has 800billion times better graphics, and GT2 has over 400 more cars.
it's a good tradeoff - it all depends on what you find important to the "fun factor" of a video game.

Actually, I agree with you....

I remember watching the cars in the garage as they slowly spun around being displayed. My friend and I didn't think it was possible for GT3 to look as good as the cars while being displayed. WOW!!! We were proven wrong!

to a degree....

I'd like to see the graphic quality of gt4 stay the same as gt3 if it means more cars :)

but I think to them the time constraints will be thier driving force.

I'd like to see gt4 come out b4 ps3 as I wont be getting ps3 me thinks as i have only just jumped on this particular band-wagon (tho ps3 will be a while yet)

 I'm still amazed at these technology advances, I was stunned in PSX time :clock: when :gt:2 came out, and the same when GT3 was released..

Just imagine in a couple of years (well maybe 5 or so) we'll look back and laugh at GT3, GTC, GT4..wow that's weird to think about? :weird:
