Been a while since i played GT6 and only had 1.2 update at the time,
I stopped playing mainly because of the sound (it's really not that good)
So my Question doest one of the 15 or so updates fixes the car sounds on this!!!

You mean 1.02? No the overall sounds are not fixed, but a handful of cars like the Senna package and a couple of VGT's do sound better. Not great mind you, just better.

The way the sound is delivered has improved, but the samples are basically the same, except for the cars that have been added with the updates, which are using a new method for delivering sound without the need of a sample.

Short answer to your question is: no. If you quit playing the game because of the engine sounds, there's no reason to come back to it. Everything that has been added is basically content and bug fixes.

Speaking of engine sounds though: man, that Subaru VIZIV GT does sound sah-weet.

Well, they did improve sound mixing since 1.02, the samples are still the same, but it sounds a little better, especially when going through tunnels etc.

You can choose where the on-board mic is, so you can be interior view while the sound is coming from the exhaust etc.

I made the mistake of updating to 1.15. Instead of leaving it on the shelf. I have since bought a PS2, V8 Supercars 3, GT3- A SPEC, NFS Shift 1, V8 Suoercars 2 PSP.

Thing is, the NISMO LMP, and a new VGT and maybe some surprises on the way. That's the only thing keeping me interested.

Update your game and try the Circuit de la Sierra trial - level 4 uses a Nissan GTR and if you use cockpit or bumper view then click for the quick options menu and change the microphone position to exterior it sounds great! It's worth doing the updates just for that event in my opinion!

Some cars which already have a good sound such as the Senna Lotus F1 car sound great if you move the microphone position. However many cars are very poor and some new cars such as the Ferrari 250 GTO are very disappointing - so much work still needs to be done by PD on upgrading the sounds.
