I didn't think about it until I had already post the other thread, but I would like to see your opinions,

Check out this thread and tell me if I should have gotten stitches or not.

Yeah, that definitely looks stitch-worthy. How did you do that to yourself?

Gravity!

I was just walking down this gravel road to get to the lake shore. It was too gnarly to take the car down so I walked. My leg just buckled and I went down, knee first. Must have opened it up on a rock. By the time I got to the lake, my entire leg from the knee down was covered in blood. It was nasty for sure....

Really? I couldn't tell.

That's stitch worthy for sure Pako, see a doctor. That doesn't look like a cut that'll heal on it's own without getting infected easily. Have fun trying to keep that thin clean with Poroxide. Mmm...the burn!

I go with you guys, see the doctor... Not so much to get it sewed, (I mean it's your leg and a big scar is always good for your masculinity:D) but to get it properly cleaned, that's the most important if you ask me.

/D

Yeah i think you should get that "meat flap" seen to..it could get infected if you don't get it seen to by a doctor ....
Thats what i would do ;)

So get to a doctor now Pako if you don't want maggots in your leg. :p

Visit the sawbones, Pako. That's deep and they may want to put dissolving stitches inside as well. Keeping it clean enough inside is going to be tough on your own. Good luck, man.

Maggots are good on wounds though...

I'm looking at amputation at the moment here, still havent decided...

Anytime you use the term "meat flap" to describe a part of your body that isn't suppose to flap, see a Dr.!

I fell on a broken glass bottle once and cut myself in the same place where you did and it wasn't as bad as yours and I got stiched up. Your's is going to pop open again and again if you don't. Trust me!

GO TO THE HOSPITAL!

I'm a "professional" with these things. I have looked at the pics. Based on the description, and the Extreme Close up pics, I would say see the doc at the ER. They may close it with surgical staples. Or they may call in a Plastic Surgeon to close it up. And unless you are among the "lucky" (heavy sarcasm) few that get "keloid" scarring, the scar should be fairly unnoticable.

You know you could offer those pics to rotten.com, now that's a 'raw' site! it can make skylineGTR_guy's link look like 'dinner discussion material' Both pics are just *belch*

interesting, oh God can't keep it down! *hurls*

Well, you have a bad case of time...see, it's running out, fast...:p

Definitely amputation, maybe the other leg as well, just in case infection spreads! :p

Footnote: It was sarcasm, for those few who can't recognise it.

Hey Pako, don't listen to Gil, what does he know about this stuff anyway. ;) You did the right thing man. 👍 Never go to a doctor unless it's absolutely life threatening. Can't tell you how many times I've come close to cutting my finger off or at least big chunks of my finger off at work. Just wrap the damn thing in electrical tape, put on a latex glove and go back to work.
You did exactly what any "MAN" would do Pako, I salute you.

But if you would have REALLY CUT your finger off at work would you be a 'MAN' and duck tape your finger back on your hand?.. :p :p

Yeah, whatever.
You know what they call the guy who reaches into a sharks mouth, and pulls out the hook with his right hand?

LEFTY.
Pako, get your damn leg stitched. You do not want it to get septic or some nasty osteo-pathic infection.

 I hear yeah Boom, and you to Gil, and everyone else also...

I finally did see a nurse today, well it was someone I knew, but still. It's actually started to seal up and I had a very hard time trying to pull the flap back as it had already started graphting together. I'll give till Wednesday this week. If it's still oozing then I'll go see a Doc. :) Until then, be sure to frequent the other thread as I have been putting up daily progress pictures. ;)
