I've owned a DFGT for a while now, and as much as I enjoy it, I long for a clutch pedal. Are there any other benefits to owning a G27 over DFGT other then a clutch pedal?

Also, I am aware the G27 has 2 FFB motors, but does that improve the driving experience enough to justify buying a 2nd wheel?

Thanks in advance guys, I'd also prefer advice from those of you who have tried both the G27 and DFGT, but all advice welcome.

Tip:
G25 you get sequential shift stick and 6spd H-gate shift. G27 does not have this.

I've tried both DFGT and G27, I own the G27. In my opinion the G27 simulates the road a lot better. You can feel the rumble strips and little bumps while having the feed back from G force. This is where the dual motors make a difference, you can have more than one feedback at once not to mention, much stronger. I also think the G27 feel a lot more sturdier than the DFGT, from the pedals to the shifter. I do, however find the wheel to be a little flimsy but it's not that bad.

The buttons on the G27 steering wheel is also very good to have, you have 6 buttons that can be mapped to anything. I use them all the time, I have them set to look left/right/behind/, ebrake, horn, lights. It saves me from looking for a button when you really need it.

All in all, t's all really down to budget and preference. If it's tight, go with the DFGT, if you have a bit extra, G27 all the way.

BlisteredHand mentioned the G25, the only thing with that is, I think it's discontinued and you won't have much support for it. I also think they've taken it off the market so unless you're looking for second hand, this isn't an option.

Edit, I don't recommend buying used, you never know how the previous owner used it and if something happens, it's your loss.

I have tried both and the g27 feels more real I own the g27 as well and all the buttons are convenient the only negative is there is no reverse when paddle shifting if you ever wreck when using the shifter reverse is press down and all the way out and then down

There is no comparison. The DFGT is a toy compared to the G27. It will make you infinitely more consistent around the track, and the experience will improve dramatically. If the money isn't an issue, don't hesitate.

You can map one of the 6 red buttons on the wheel for reverse while using the paddles. Thats how I have mine setup now.

Not to mention the default triangle button on the shifter console, that's what I use.

Exactly the response I was looking for. I think I may save up for the G27, I really want that full driving experience, H-shifter and all. It probably won't be all that expensive, as I can just sell my DFGT, which should cover at least half the cost of a G27. But thank you very much 👍

However, I've heard you can't adjust settings (TCS, ABS, ASM, Torque split, etc) while driving with the G27. Is this true? because I really enjoy that about the DFGT

You can map the buttons anyway you like, including for what you're talking abot. I have the TC, ASM, etc mapped out onthe buttons on the shifter so yes, its possible. Get the G27, you won't regret it.

I have mine setup the same way, I use the square button to bring up the menu and the direction pad to scroll and adjust. I use it all the time, I'm always adjusting something so it's perfect!

So you can adjust the Brake Balance and Torque Split on the fly, in the middle of a race, while driving at race speed, with the G27, just as you can with the DFGT?

Yes, using the RA function mapped to any of the buttons on the wheel or the shifter unit (as previously mentioned)

Thanks..that was the one thing that stopped me from upgrading from my DFGT...guess I've got some shopping to do!!💡

Yea Johnny, just to echo what has been said, you can map those functions to any of the buttons on the wheel or shifter. I have the RA functions mapped on my shifter and use the buttons on my wheel for look back, left, right, reverse, etc.

If you want the best get a t500 RS with the t8rs piece

I upgraded from a DFPro to a G27 and do not regret the purchase. The H pattern alone is a LOT of fun :D

But don't think that it will make you instantly faster!! In fact I was a bit slower at first as re-adjusting to the pedal feel took a bit of time. The feel of the wheel is awesome but it too took a bit of getting used to. The differences between the wheels is surprising and the type of info in the FFB is a little different. Things like understeer and oversteer felt different when combined with bumps and curbs on the G27.

In short, is it worth it, YES. Just be prepared for a learning curve and allow yourself to adapt to the new wheel, while enjoying it of course :)

And why should I buy that over the G27?

It's so much more responsive and has a much better quality shifter and overAll.

Price is kinda steep though 500 USD

Thats alot more expensive wheel that is a bit over priced. Yes, it may be a better wheel as far as craftsmanship, but the G27 costs less and in the end, it gets the job done. Between all 3 wheels metioned, none of them is going to make you faster over the other. I would just stick with the G27.

Ehh, no thanks, I don't have that kind of money to buy a second steering wheel haha

Yea type price is the downside but I would never regret spending the cash

It just depends on the person and how much they are willing to spend. Like I said, all 3 are good wheels and each get the job done.

Yea I can't compare cos the t500 was my first wheel

Just out of curiosity, do those numbers in your username represent anything? Just asking as I use the same numbers in my main PSN ID account as it represents my birthday.
