If everything were made available, even if just in Arcade Mode, I'd loose focus, and I think that focus along with desire and disappointment, help to maintain GTs high replay value.
However, I do think it would be a good thing if they got rid of the rotating used inventory, THAT is a waste of time.
yep, elitism. What every online game is all about.
I think that only part of the cars should be unlocked in Aracde, and PD should choose them carefully in order to give you a "taste" of what you can get if you will keep playing in GT Mode - because that's part of the hear-n-soul of GT series.
For those people who would like to test drive a car before they actually buy it I have 2 solutions - first for the user/driver and the second for PD:
1) Before you buy a car (especially the expensive ones - which could turn to be a failure to help you pass one of the events/licenses/races) you can save the game, exit to PS3 main screen, then copy the game data to a temporary user. Go back to the game and buy that car, if you don't like it (for now at least) then exit and copy from the temporary user onto the current user. Of course this is not simple but for expensive cars it could be helpful.
2) A solution to PD is to let the player take a car for a test-drive but the player must pay a fee (from his credits) like renting the car, so you can not test-drive a car if you can't afford it - this is the "real driving simulator" - right???
I think Dara O'Briain made a very good point on Charlie Brooker's Gameswipe programme that if we have bought the game we shouldn't have its content restricted. His point was he couldn't do some driving mission on GTA so never got to Manhattan Island and was effed off that he was missing out on part of the game he had paid for.
In a similar way it would do my head in if I couldn't take part in endurance races because I haven't got the time to complete them in one session and couldn't save the race part way through. B-spec isn't a very fun way of getting the result and I'm far too protective of my PS3 to leave it running overnight anyway.
Hopefully PD has been listening and has included this feature.
