If there are plenty of cars to have fun with, why do you want the stealth models?

I'm not saying that I do, although I won't complain for having them. I'm simply trying to figure out how it legitimately upsets the people that all ready had them other than "we paid more money." I've all ready pointed out ad nauseum in other posts how this makes sense from a business standpoint so I'm not going to repeat myself again.

You're missing the point entirely. Sure, we didn't pay for the content at the offset but why does it matter in the grand scheme? Who loses out in this? The people that paid at first? So you paid for a premium service and now a year later everyone else gets a chance. Knowing that prices go down over time it's just natural progression. This happens with any product you purchase... even if you buy something early, the value is going to go down eventually and it's going to be made more widely available. It's bad business for it not to.

PD isn't stupid. They have a product that everyone wants. They got money out of the die-hards that wanted it first, now they're using the content to entice the rest of us. It's a win for the company and it's a win for the players. To not see that is to be blissfully ignorant.

Good business yes, you could also see it this way. Not everyone can become a VIP in a club unless they open the wallet or do something special for the club, you pay less you get less, you pay more you become special. The stealth cars are a symbol of status, which is cool, I envy people with stealth cars. It's cool to see people with it, if I would see everyone with it, I would just laugh.

You stated earlier that people choose to pay extra for the special content, when you wrote that you also wrote that people choosed not to buy it. But more to the point, the car makes the people special in a way, they have a car not everyone have, and should remain like that. If PD was smart they would not give away these car or make them able to buy on the PS Store, why? Because in the future if they release games people will know this and they wont buy the special contents, why? Because they will release them for all later. That my friend is bad business.

They're adding in one stealth car as part of the DLC for NA players to make up for the fact that we didn't have the signature edition here. 1 car. That's not hurting anyone. The second one is being given away as part of a promotional tool that's backed by Nissan. That is purely marketing and it's getting more people to excited about future content. If they make the rest of the stealth cars available as paid DLC I would be all for that.

You're right, if you pay to step behind the velvet rope you should get the VIP treatment but that's kind of a bad analogy to use for this. Access is not the same as Product.

It is still stupid that they just gave people things for free, if Nissan would want to do some marketing they would probably do it in a better way then using a car that doesn't exist in real life. But I don't know about the deal so I might as well stop argue about it. It does get people excited, I mean hell, who doesn't like games who just gives things away for free right? It is still wrong to take away the special feeling from people who bought the special content. It also destroys some balance in the game. WHat happend when they decide to give away a free X10 S vettel. I'll tell you, not people expect them to give free stuff away, it starts a trend.

Blizzard destroyed World of Warcraft buy doing this kind of thing. Making people beeing special without effort. And trust me, I've had my share of getting free stuff in my life, earning it is one hell of a feeling. I'm kind of fading from the topic now but hope you get my point.

Access is not the same as product but you need access to reach the product. Not everyone should have it for everything.

The difference is that the X2010 is all ready a free car, but to get it by normal means you have to work for it. Again, the giveaway was a marketing gimmick and nothing more.

The point behind it was, it was free. Free stuff is not always good.

We're arguing semantics at this point. Agree to disagree?

I voted for yes for everyone... Its going to happen sooner or later.

Sorry for those who bought the Sig Edition and think they are getting screwed, but we (North America) never got a chance to buy it, $300 is nothing for me!

Side note and it might piss some of you purist off:
I saw three GT500 Stealth cars in a drag room last night racing..

No. I dont get why people pay money for a car thats already in the game but black and with a GT emblem on it. I like them cause they are considered touring cars so I use them for Touring car races so it dosent consist of a SuperGT livery.

No Forget about the stealth cars leave them be and give us some "new" Cars for the game not re-brands Race mods or stealths but new stuff.

^This!^

Let the stealth and chormeline cars be as 'rare' as they are now and give us some new cars or even brands! That'd be something...

Soon the only rare car in the game will be the Gamestop Nascar, and i gotz mine. X)

Should Stealth cars become DLC ?

Yes they should . They were additionally paid for in the collectors editions , but I see nothing wrong with this content being a DLC purchase as they were additionally paid for in the first place.

An elitist view would be - " No , I paid for that edition to have exclusive rights to these cars ..... blah blah blah . " Anyone who takes that view takes GT5 far too seriously . It's a game after all in a global business market.

I don't agree with them all being given away for free however , as that devalues the principle of charging for them in the first place.
