Should there be a 3rd FIA Championship? (POLL)

Due to recent changes made my PD regarding the selection process of the Nations Cup (and perhaps the Manufacturers Cup), some are not satisfied with the new rules, particularly the rule which only allows 2 drivers from the same nation to compete in the Top 24 Superstars. In my opinion, this is rather unfair, given the population differences between the UK/France and San Marino/Andorra, as an example. Also, this promotes the possibility of one driver using more than one PSN account to have multiple chances of entering races on the same day in case his/her race didn't go to plan. This however may be unsolvable regardless of the system used.
Consequently, there has been discussion of a third championship amongst drivers, which is simply about the fastest driver on the game without any other limitations.

The amount of ticks you make is limited to 2, to see if people want to revert to the old system or not. So for example, if you would like to to back to old system, click both YESs on offer. only 'NO' if you think it's fine as it is now

It is stupid, the limitation, because you can create a new account and represent a country you are not in.
You see, the division is not made by IP location, it is by the information you give. I am in Brazil, and often participate on other continents championships.
I have an european and an asian account to train sometimes for america championships, if one is good enough, he can have three accounts and play all 3 top 24.

Hmm I personally don't think a new championship is required as will just thin out an active but relatively small community of regular racers.

Maybe a better solution would be to split the biggest countries up in to a suitable number of sub-regions, e.g. for UK London & Home Counties, South, Midlands, North, Scotland, NI etc; and ditto for France, USA, Australia, Japan.

Can somebody link me to where they announced these changes about FIA races?
I was in the manufacturer race last night with Lexus and there were 5 of us in the RC F - doesn't seem to be limited to 2.

So basically it's only really going to be the most limiting to American drivers (or at least those who have an American account), because of the 10 per country rule the only other country that might be affected is Canada, but I doubt we'll ever get 10 into a superstars race (might have more people posing as Canadians now though).

Sorry, those are for the American Region. I believe the numbers are different for the European Countries. I want to say it's 2 per country, but don't quote me on that.

That would suck for Europe, seem to be a lot of good drivers from France/Germany/U.K that won't be able to participate now.

I think they made the Nations limit faaaaar too strict, I bet you they could've gotten away with 5 or 6 and had relatively little complaining, but who knows.

It would be cool if they had a qualifier to see which drivers from x country went to nations cup. Like if the top 20 british drivers raced for spots and so on.

The FIA system offers different points depending on the quality of the room, which makes sense in some ways, but is unfair if some drivers join lobbies with lower points on offer through no fault of their own. Some drivers earned over 2900+ for a win yesterday, whereas at the same time today, I just got 2300+ for a win

There is just no avoiding this though, you can't give equal points for a win when one lobby has a higher caliber of drivers.

Similar to what @james_L said, for the real championship, they should just create races regionally or nationally, then have European/Asia/America based races.

A 'Nations Cup' with this system would make more sense IMO. But yes, more slots should be available for densely populated countries. They offered more spaces for GT Academy, but not here for some reason

You find that Gr3 races will always be the most popular, hence 2900 yesterday and just 2300 today in that oversteering mess on a track with 0 proper overtaking spots

So jealous of you and @Cuber Tom And the point count will only drop by round 4 because a lot of drivers will have given up on trying to enter top 24

I think the whole demarcation of players by region feels very outdated. I have many friends in UK and Europe; why can't I see their times? Why can I only race with people in Sport and FIA in NA because I'm in the States? I was in a private league for a while with mostly UK and European folk, and if I didn't know their countries I would've assumed they were in America. The netcode is that good, but PD's regional boundaries aren't.

Agreed. And the system acts like 'anti-globalisation.'
The new selection process is outdated IMO. I think nationality shouldn't become such a hindrance for selection of the Nations Cup Top 24 Superstars.
A driver is faster/obtains more points than half of the field heading into Top 24 race, yet can't enter because 2 drivers of the same nationality have higher points? Hmm.
Skill shouldn't be restricted by one's nationality with such strict limits.
If the qualification group was divided into sub-categories based on nationality, that would make more sense than restricting those who have the potential to race in the final

They should do this for the real thing only. Have all Brits in one race, then decide who's the best to race in Nations Cup, rather than the current system. The current system makes sense for test seasons, albeit the quality of the field was lacking last week.
