yeah what 🤬 said no?

GT4 is gonna have to be really good for them to come out with another. Very few games make it that long...
The only ones that make it that far are classics like Final Fantasy (way past 5), Zelda, Mario, Sonic, and Mortal Kombat. And if we're (people at this forum, like me :) ) a large part of the Fans of GT3, GT5 is gonna be in trouble because this isn't enough reason for PD to make a GT5. GT4 also has to be a truly good game. Like all of the games I listed above, GT4 has to out do GT3 and I don't think that's possible with the PS2. GT3 used the PS2 to the fullest. IMO GT4 is gonna have to be on the PS3. Don't get me wrong, I love all of the gran turismo games. But GT4 is gonna have to get a lot more fans if its gonna make it.

I DIDN'T VOTE NO SO STOP PM-ing ME!!!! I voted yes when this theard first started and i haven't said anything till then.

i said no..
got a problem with that???
get over it

because i have a different opinion than what you think it SHOULD be does not warrant flaming and arguing

grow up

GT 5 won't come out on PS2, it'll probably be a launch for PS3, if there's a big demand for it. If racing games die off, there'll probably only be patches and addons for GT4, so it might be the end, seeing that we'll download cars and stuff for it.

Ever looked at the best sellers on a month-by-month basis? Even GT2 is still going strong, with millions upon millions of copies sold. There are a lot of die-hard GT enthusiasts here on GTPlanet, but I would estimate it to be a microscopic percentage of everyone who owns and enjoys the games. You are severely underestimating the popularity of the most popular racing series of all time.

:gt: Is gonna live forever guys

Consider this from Sony/Polyphony's perspective: They sell millions of Games :cd: and have many dedicated fans like ourselves who are repeat buyers :2cents: Right?

So in these companies there are Shareholders who will be enjoying a nice little dividend off us, Imagine the fall in Sony Share Value if GT stopped :rscared:

Hence as long as we enjoy games and Shareholders enjoy dividends GT production will continue... :band:

easy on the caps there man

I'll predict GT5 will be an early PS3 title.

Given that Polyphony run about an 18 month to 2 year gap between releases (not counting GT Concept) there is more than sufficient development in the automotive world for them to continue to release new titles on this time basis - look at the Lancer Evos, and three generations of Skylines (not counting the older ones from GT2).

I am really hoping that all the old cars, and the old GT2 tracks, return for GT4. If they include those, including the tight category racing from GT2, plus new cars released between GT3 and GT4 (and some new tracks), that would a truly brilliant farewell to the PS2 by the Polyphony guys.

What odds GT4 on two DVDs?

But have you noticed that barley any launch games are any good? They just don't fix as many glitches as those which come out a month or so after...

Well, it's so much glitches as dud games. I picked a PS2 about a month after it came out, and the games early on were pretty ordinary - in fact I'd go so far as to say it was six months before there was a reasonable catalogue of titles. I've no doubt developers are under pressure from console makers to have software ready for launch.

I think that's a lot of the reason the Gamecube has been reasonably successful for what, at the end of the day, could probably be regarded as a niche product - it had a very strong set of launch titles.

ok...My two cents here.

Why will there be a gt5? Because of me. or rather people like me. I have never played a copy of GT1 or GT2. Yet I picked up GT3 after a friend showed me his. It comes out of the PS2 every month or so, long enough for me to blow something up in twisted metal black, then it goes back in.

The real question I have is will there be a GT Concept 2. Or will the bad press from "It took me 4 hours to beat and all it did was give me $10,000,000 in my GT3 account). Spend $50 to keep you entertained for 4 hours? I spent $50 on GT3 and it's kept me entertained for over a year.

So yes, there will be a GT5, and GT4 will only be a minor improvement over GT3. More cars, and more tracks, maybe a few more race styles. I'd like to see a cash limit on a few races. Maybe some HP limits on a few races. That would improve GT4.

Ohh, I loved the HP limits, the weight limits, and all of those thing from GT2! Those were great! And also, was it also in gt2(It might only be in reg. GT) where there's the dealership races? Those kicked ass!
