Should there be a paint Shop in GT4?

I thought a paint Shop would be cool.



Like if you won an awesome car off an endurance race, and you got it in a ugly color.

Like my fo/90s on gt3, I did the endurance race, and won it in an ugly orange/black. :indiff: lol
 
Yep at E3 this year almost 2 months ago. Welcome to GTP gt3_156284 (whats with the name?) please take advantage of all this sites features, chck out the sticky threads they're great and use the search tool to find thigs out before making a thread about it.

Dunno, but I wish I could do the skins on my PC instead of jabbing about with the DS2...

Probably just recoloring. No decals. GT is notorious for no personalizing. :-(

We don't need 'personalizing' (read: rice) in GT.
 
Yeah the paint shop will be perfect for when you win a car in a sucky colour. Who needs a pink Yaris/Vitz? One thing though i think you shouldn't be allowed is to pick any colour you want, theres always something special about a showing off a car to your mates in a 'limited edition' colour that you can only win from a long tournament.
 
I'm very glad there will be a paint shop in GT4 so I won't need to do the same race over and over and over again 👎 👎 to get my favorite color for a car. I've been waiting for a feature like this since GT2.

I'm wouldn't be surprised if the paint shop will mostly feature the colors that the car is available in at the time of purchase. Like a fresher look to your car. After 300 races with the same old silver WRX you dediced to rejunevate it by painting it blue.
 
Viper Zero, I am starting to think that you just suck.
How is painting your ****ing car rice? I have seen many pearlesent muscle cars, as well as ones with ****ing animals and big stickers. Man, you are a biggot. I want my car to say my team names all the **** over it. I also want my name on the side.
Besides, they are probably only going to have a color wheel, with colors that only come in the same gloss that the OEM paint was in.

I have a problem with decals, not changing paint colors.
 
yes most definately, as long as they're solid colors, i dont want there to be an option to paint it yourself or add any decvals to it, just the color of the whole car,
 
One thing that would be nice is picking the color of the car that you one before you recive it , since they said the is going to be a pit crue and you can change the colors and all of that I think that if there is a paint shope in GT4 then you can praint the car with your team color and logos.

Photo Mode is in the house for GT4 for what I know. When you played Gran Turismo 1, didn't you just hate that multi-color paint scheme for the Del Sol or the Civic? I'd want to paint it up and make it look presentable and sweet. But Gran Turismo has sort of limited you to your imagination. Well listen up. Freedom from this comes in the form of a Paint Shop! Paint your cars any way you want to! Scribble your name all over your car, or your friends! Paint on "Just Married" to your car or "Hi Mom!" to your car! Paint Mode is basically HERE!!!

From a newcomer to an experienced GTP member. GTO_VR4, you mentioned Top Gear Rally for N64. Let me tell you something. That is a wonderful racing game, even if it isn't like Gran Turismo. The game featured a wonderful paint mode. Whatever you painted on the car didn't make it look like you overwrote the skin of the car. For example, if you place an opaque image on the car, you couldn't see the detail of the skin for that certain part of a car? So surely, the Paint Mode must have to have a special "back to default" or "back to blank" feature. Back to Default would mean that whatever car color you bought it in, it will revert to that color. Back to Blank would mean that you get a white car that you can paint up any way you like. I know about this because I used to take blank cars from the PC game "Sports Car GT" and paint them up in special ways. But I'm actually proud about this mode.
 
This all sounds great, but the paint shop may only be a single colour for the whole body (unless the particular model you choose is a two-tone factory option).
 
Yeah it will be interesting to see if you can paint a car any color you want, or if you can only paint the car with the colors that are available to you when you buy it. For example, a car like an Integra in GT3 had like 3 or 4 different color options or something if i'm not mistaken, so i'm wondering if you would only be able to paint it one of those four colors because that's all the car has. I don't think that would be the best idea though. What if i want a hot pink Saleen S7? I'm not sayin i do, just makin a point about how each car should have the ability to be painted any color you want. I think it would be kinda cool if you can add racing stripes down the middle of your car like on the viper. Just a thought.
 
You should definately be able to change the colour of your car to another stock or custom colour.......or you could even maybe win custom colours! To do this they should have a CG cut scene to have real people spray painting it!!!

I am sadly just expecting to e able paint the car one of it's strock colours (at least i wont be dissapointed this way :sly: ) Racing stripes would definetly be cool but i cant see it happening. Id like to see wheel painting where you can pick separate colours for both the rim and the actual spokes.

Yeah that would be pretty sweet...then you pretty much have an endless amount of colors to choose from.
 
well the best paint system i've seen is from the Nascar series. You can pretty much paint your car the way you want it... and put Decals stickers or anything else. Very cool.
 
I disagree with some of your points with personalization. Yes there are few chances to personalize in GT (rims..yay! :irked:), but more would be welcome. And no it doesn't mean rice. Atleast let you put your name/teamname/nickname on the side of the car so you can be recognized in online racing.
