tha_con^^^ yet you haven't even played the game.
I was upset at first also, but it's impact on the game is SO minimal...you're making a big ol' fuss.
It is a part of car culture. Also, remember that GT isn't regulated SCCA racing, etc, which is why you can have severly overpowered cars in races...but of course I don't see anyone complaining about that...
If anything, I would say the people who say N20 is rice...are in fact saving face in the forum...because they are probably excited about it, lol.
Red Sixmy point exactly, nitrous was used in muscle cars back in the 70's far before "rice" hit the streets...
TanerasI was always under the understand that "rice" was tasteless body kits/rims/euro's/neons/paintjobs/spoilers/etc. I wasn't aware that certain performance upgrades were considered rice...
Red Sixdont forget go-fast stickers 👍![]()
Red Sixits funny how you say "nos" is "rice" yet there are loads of guys driving mustangs (just like the one in your avatar) that use "nos" and tons of other muscle cars that take advantage, I agree with one of the previous posts about turbos or supers, its the same thing as nitro just not constant, power addatives are power addatives![]()
FRSTI said "rice" because most of the cars I see in Switzerland with NOS (which is illegal on a street car of course) are 1.6l engines and the guys who put it have tried it once and that's it..what a waste of money...
sorry if I mixed-up my real-life with the topic
still I think NOS has NOTHING to do in a proper race competition and should be used only for drag-racing like in real-life, I really don't see NOS used in JGTC![]()
RallyRacingFanI also own the game and I have seen no evidence that the computer uses it. So don't install it on your own car and like tha_con said - it doesn't exist.
Disclaimer: I have the game but haven't yet tried N2O, however this thread has definitely piqued my interest and I will have to give it a shot. I will see what it can and can't do.
pussinbootGuys! Guys! listen...
Last nite I tried NOS on on the game .. here goes...
CAR: 99 H. s2000 with weight Stage 1, Flywheel, Exhaust improvement.. 265bhp.. plus the argued NOS / N2O or whatever its called...
Challenge: Pro Hall - Tuners Race...
GT4 Ver.: Chinese
Cockpit: A red gauge like the Fuel on the right of Tachco..Each R1 press reduce the amount.
A-spec Point: 200 pt (normally i just get 8~18 pts 4 other races)
1 Stage: Mid-valley
Description: rollin race start.. by the time i reached the chicane all the car r fast approaching the hairpins (that's how fast they were) I think those tuner's cars must hv a huge hp. Anyway thinking that i hv the ultimate (cheating) weapon.. i can blast them to pieces when i reach the long straight with a fast sweeping right curve after the hair pin rite?![]()
. i reached the straight.. I shift the next gear accordingly as the light lid.. i press the R1 button along.. a soft hissin is heard (like some gas is leaking)

G#d d#mn! nothing happened (effect don't come in an instant like NFSU) hell no.. no effect at all except i notice with each gear i could reach a higher speed than normal..on 5th i could come aleast at 220km/h but that don't come like a magic show where a press & whoosh everything i see turn blur! no it come progressively... before there's any catch up on the packs I'm already out of straight tracks to NOS. So i tried it on the start long straight this time, Still hissing.. at 6th gear 260km/h + and already I have to down shift again! 👎 👎
So guys! no need to argue whether this is the ultimate (cheating) weapon on the GT4! NOS exist ! yes! super duper speed in an instant & blow the crap out from the competition - NO!![]()
you'll still require some decent upgrade in order to chase the pack down..yeah sure! my skill hv 2 take some bashing too.. but still it's not like the NOS in NFSU we used to see... the NOS does improves the speed (if the tracks allow) but only marginally i would say

JBR-ManPlease do not mention NFSU. This forum deserves better things.
btw, my answer:
NOs
It isn't exactly like that. GT4 is a huge game, I haven't had as much time with it as I would have liked and have not gotten to every aspect of the game. I have driven only a few cars, done a couple of license tests, run two B-Spec races and taken one photo. My TV died the day I got GT4 so I have been playing when I can at my girlfriend's house, basically only a few hours total. My interest is in Rally racing so most of the time I have had with the game I was driving rallies. When you play GT4 you will understand the vast number of options and you, just like me, will not be able to try everything out in the first few hours. N2O was simply not on the top of my list of things to try, there are a wealth of other things in the game. I want to see how the AI drives, I want to see how the cars handle, I want to see what B-Spec is, play with the photos, drive in rallies etc. There is more to this game than a single optional part in the upgrade screen (which is what N2O is). I haven't tried out all the other optional performance parts yet either but I will.Red Sixhow people that try to save face on the forum, just look at your last two sentences
But yes, people will try to save face on the forum. If you actually came to my house you would possibly find me driving an LM car in the Sunday Cup and having fun doing it! How else did you think I knew you could it?!
Why would you object to body kits and decals? Maybe not 20hp go-fast stickers but what is wrong with cosmetic changes? A lot of people want to paint the cars and who hasn't changed a rim or two - isn't that just cosmetic? We'd all complain if the cars you bought came in white or something, we want to be able to choose custom colours. Different coloured cars are more visually appealing - a few decals might spice things up too. I play this game for four reasons:tha_conI would object more to body kits and decals, rather than another engine upgrade
