Last friday, I picked up Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
I got super lucky being in California and went to a lot of shows in SF and LA. At one point I was so deep into Dilla and started rubbing shoulders with Flying Lotus and his friends...I even hung out in Japan in 09 with a lot famous beat makers who were Dillla inspired you might have heard of Ras G and Dibiase? If not check their stuff out Dibiase really carried on that Dilla vibe for sureTotally awesome that you got to meet the legend himself! Also immensely cool you got to meet/buy from J Rocc, too.
I didn't get into J Dilla until I got into High School, which was a few years after he passed. It was completly by accident as well. I was just randomly browsing YouTube and somehow came across "Won't Do" off of The Shining, and his whole style just instantly clicked for no real reason, which started my descent into old-school Hip Hop.
Suite for Ma Dukes is one I really need to add to my list of future pick-ups as well.
... so here I am bragging about buying some 2nd-hand PS2 games for the insane amount of 5 or 10€ apiece, and this guy just comes along saying he's bought a friggin' house... that's the ULTIMATE buy indeed
And with one of the best albums of all time in it👌🍩Turns out I accidentally left my AA Battery Charger in my hotel when I evacuated during Hurricane Milton, so I winded up ordering a new one of those.

On the flipside, I also ordered a foldable case to store my vinyl records. The cubby where me & my mothers collections are stored was starting to get a tad tight, so this is a pretty solid alternative.

Pay no attention to the extremely out-of-date 2022 calendar.
It's not, but funny thing about that. I bought that particular record because the original I purchased years ago went missing. In doing some post-Milton cleanup,...And with one of the best albums of all time in it👌🍩
Is it the first press?

...I found my original record mixed deep in my mother's collection! How it ended up between Dexter Gordon and Skyy, I have no idea.
I also found my old copy of Shades of Blue by Madlib, which I genuinely thought was gone for eternity.

Of course, I don't really need 2 copies of Donuts, so I ended up bringing the Donut Shop variant to my local record store and used it to partially buy 4 more albums....

Operation Doomsday I already have the CD for, so I figured it'd be a bonus to get the full vinyl. Pinata was one I weirdly don't see too often, and it's one of my favorite albums by both Madlib and Freddie Gibbs, so that was an easy pick. Ruff Draft was just...there, admittedly, and the Mal Waldron album was actually recommended to me by an employee of the store who really likes jazz, so I decided to pick his brain a little.
Man excellent taste you have (and your moms too)👍It's not, but funny thing about that. I bought that particular record because the original I purchased years ago went missing. In doing some post-Milton cleanup,...

So, my local shop was extremely nice to me, for reasons I don't understand honestly. Since I never opened it, they just applied the original purchase price to the total of the new ones I bought, which was ~$25, even though I purchased it this past January. Considering that everything was roughly $100, I did not complain about it.Man excellent taste you have (and your moms too)👍
This was a reasonable deal I would say, got all of them too except the Waldron record.

I also thought about selling my first pressing of Donuts as I also have the 45 Version, but couldn’t do it as of yet😅
Can I ask how much you did get for it?
Sees A.K.A. J. YanceyDon’t have anything from Waldron yet as I’m still discovering jazz for myself, can you recommend it?
And here’s my Dilla Collection (Part of it😅):

If I played GT7, I absolutely would. The design is lovely, regardless. If you are interested, I also created a Dilla Livery for the VW Bus a while ago, just type in #dilla in the Tag section if you wanna search for it.
Here some scapes:

I’m very jealous! I can only imagine how much this set you back. Always wanted to play it after watching a playthrough on YouTube back in… 2008 maybe? I’m still praying they remaster it or at the very least rerelease it digitally on the PS Store.
The price is going down very significantly due to the discovery in Italy of a few thousand copies sealed (PAL GB version) in an abandoned warehouse of 505 Games. Some say these copies were the one's destined to England before the game got banned...I’m very jealous! I can only imagine how much this set you back. ah sorry, I automatically assumed you were playing GT7, I sometimes forget that this site is not just about this one game😅So, my local shop was extremely nice to me, for reasons I don't understand honestly. As I'm sure you know, that is a uniquely difficult record to get hands on, so I am quite jealous of that pickup. I also haven't listened to the Mal Waldron record (largely because the all-in-one record player I own is on its last legs, and I've been kinda lazy about replacing it), so I can't comment on it just yet. However, the same employee did recommend Trio 64 by Bill Evans on my last visit, and that one is very, very good indeed.
Also, what's the middle Dilla album? I'm sad to say that don't recognize the artwork there.
If I played GT7, I absolutely would. The design is lovely, regardless.
Its so sick seeing Dilla heads who actually made a Dilla livery. I started to go down that road early in gtsport days, but never got around to making anythingMan excellent taste you have (and your moms too)👍

Seems like you would fit in brilliantly with us over in the EA WRC threads 👍Went to Armageddon Expo over the weekend, and discovered a hall they had that was dedicated to buying retro games.
Scored a bunch of titles for the physical collection, plus another for the Gran Turismo collection!

I don't even have an Xbox, but Rallisport is super nostalgic for me so I had to grab a copy.
Nice game indeed!(...) and ofcourse... Even though I played it all those years ago. I couldn't resist

Nice game indeed!
I have the Game of the Year Edition for PS3 which I've bought and played many years ago... and it was such a pleasant surprise, a brilliant game in every way, the immersion, the story, even the graphics... it's no wonder the game won so many awards back then.
I highly recommend it to everyone 👍
This PC port though, I know nothing about it, don't know if it's any good.
If only I had a decent PC to try it out... my laptop is begging for a retirement 😅
I just hope Rockstar did a better job with this RDR port than what they did with the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, that was such a rushed out abomination!
RDR deserves a lot better.
But you get amazing Turkish coffee.
I’ve never seen so many fans in a PC case in my life lolSeems like you would fit in brilliantly with us over in the EA WRC threads 👍
Rallisport Challenge and RS2 were my jam when I was a kid. They both had Andros Trophy Ice Racing which really surprised me as I used to like watching that when it was on Eurosport (UK and EU cable sports channel) Rally Fusion was great fun too, As I loved the ROC when it was at its peak in Gran Canaria and then a bit later in the stadiums.
My recent purchases...
Great deal on this PC case, Was after a Be Quiet! 500 FX but thanks to the sale managed to go a bit better.
