Well since they are "Koss" brand you could bet they aren't any good.

Ahem.

Actually i have tried and owned koss before... I think there are much better headphones out there at any pricepoint, so i would not buy Koss. Im a Dj and producer so i have owned my fair share of headphones in the past.
I like how you say "ahem" and post PortaPro's like i am supposed to be impressed... well i'm not. Why assume i never used that brand before? you don't know me.

BTW that Stiggy bank is cool, but i bet i couldn't get that in the states.

Then qualify your statements then. However I fail to see your argument about price - the PortaPros are around £17 here, so they're well worth it. And by the way, I've produced tracks too and recorded an audio play with a BBC director, so I know what good studio monitors are. I own a pair of Sennheiser HD25s myself. ;)

£17? thats like $25... they cost twice that in the states. And now that i read my original post i was a little harsh, but i have had bad experiences with Koss in the past.

I've accepted the fact that my LD 60GB PS3 is no more. Once you get the YLOD, it's FUBAR. However, the YLOD fix or reflowing the solder with a heat gun or oven does work. Only briefly, or enough time to back game saves, transfer the HDD or take your your game disk. It's not meant for multi hour game sessions with MW2 online battles.

I'll still fix the PS3, I just need new thermal paste. It's not a major concern right now, so one of these days I'll do it.

Does anyone know where I can get some really good lightbulbs? They don't have to be tungsten, or even incandescent—but they do have to be bright and fit into a household socket and capable of being dimmed.

Edit: Oh, I hate standard fluorescants.

60w incandescent ~ 850 lumens, 24 for $16, can be dimmed
60w halogen ~ 840 lumens, 1 for $6, can be dimmed if it's line voltage, not low voltage
13w CFL ~ 800 lumens, 4 pack for $10, can't be dimmed unless it has a dimming ballast, which is unlikely

All prices are USD, based off of amazon.

Really, they are all in about the same ballpark as far as intensity so it comes down to preference of color temperature.

I won't even bother with LED because the tech just isn't there for lower cost home use.

Yet.

Check out Lowe's, if you have them around you.

I have a Home Depot around here—effectively the same thing, though I'm not sure if they're related by branding/chain ownership. It seems there's a LOT of high-quality bulbs online, and I think I'm looking at either Halogen or LED bulbs.

I just want something without an overly warm tone, and most importantly—very bright. I have a fixed lighting position in a particular room which requires some much improved illumination; I'm not quite willing (yet) to install a whole new rack.

Dang, those are some strong hands. How does she hold all of them?

I didn't like Crack The Skye. They did way too many drugs for that album. Leviathan and Blood Mountain had just the right amount.
