Best thing about it? I won it as first prize in a raffle where I work, winner!

^^My parents have them, I don't think the bill is any more than normal if you have the plane WITHOUT texting.

I want one of those.

However, I don't want the $80-100 monthly bill that comes with it.

Yeah, the bill is a bit rough. I'm on Sprint with an unlimited everything plan, and its about $90 a month. But very handy.

Umm, who doesn't get texting on a smartphone? And Verizon's data plans cost quite a bit... you wouldn't be getting a new RAZR without spending around $80 a month on a single line plan.

And what is normal? Because a non-smart phone on Verizon is about $30 less a month than anything needing data...

I myself bought a few bottles of...

A loop scarf.

Some Docker hat and scarf bundle, and some jeans. And Pear Cinnamon Cider. Now I just need to put rum in it...

My mom? I'm not too sure of it but she never uses texts. Call me Backwards Jack but I don't use texting either. It's worthless for me unless the cell phone I use has a physical qwerty keyboard and even then it's annoying to use.

So yes my Sprint plan has texting on it but if I could I would get rid of it to save money. I only use my phone for normal use and internet use.

I pay $55 a month on a lucky deal I got from an employee of Bell I know.
Unlimited calls to other Bell cell phones, 400 mind anytime, 500gb data, unlimited texting and unlimited calls from 6pm to 8am and weekends. I have Wifi at school, work and home so that data amount isn't bad for me. That's where the real charge hits.

Sounds pretty backwards, jack. Between T9 and Swype and all that, there isn't much need for a proper physical keyboard on a phone anymore.

Because we don't text.

I have watched someone type faster than swype on their iphone on youtube. 7 seconds faster and still beats swype with one finger. Of course those videos are just the fastest time on older technology versus the swype technology. The average person who texts on a cell phone could find it a useful feature if they are willing to pay for it. But me, I prefer a physical keyboard despite all of the hype for virtual keyboards. They still make phones with full feature physical keyboards and well I'm the minority who likes a physical keyboard.

There are plans that don't include texting and some people(Like me, Jack!) don't use it and would like to save a little money.

Verizon's cheapest data plan is I believe $30 a month for 4GB. I have an old Verizon plan with Unlimited data for $30.

So you guys are telling me that certain Android phones truly are better than the iPhone now? Even in terms of OS simplicity and useability? I've never messed with any of these new Android phones, but the iOS is honestly amazing to me. I only wish a computer could be so elegant. Are the details there that really make it better? Details are very important.

I'm really diggin' the carbon backplate on that thing... My current phone (which is crap) has it's back plate wrapped in CF. Hoping to either get the Razr, or the iPhone 5, if it comes out. :D

^ Not seen that one before, hopefully they do minature bottles so I can give it a try. 👍

I've just bought Lifetime GTPremium and GTAIII for iPhone.

Battery life is my only complaint. Honestly, iOS is good for consuming data and media, but I feel the more open nature of Android makes it better for creation and productivity. For instance, I have multiple custom keyboards on my Touchpad for coding, and my phone has torrenting tools for when I need to get something on the road.

And honestly, the iPhone's screen is just too small in this day, at least for my huge hands.

Why are people spending more these days on their phones than their Hi-fi's.. thats what I'll never understand.

Yeah you'll never catch me paying more than ~$150 for a phone. My contract with Verizon is over next month and I'm not doing contracts anymore, so my selection is pretty limited from here on out.

Worth it. I love this phone, and Swype eliminates typos and Is very fast.

I hate swype. It never worked for 2 and 3 letter words for me and I spent more time correcting than typing. SwiftKey X is my choice.

I love Android. Like Azuremen, other than battery life there isn't much iOS does better than Android. It's likely a bit smoother but Android is so much more open ended and there are so many more functions an Android phone can have over an iphone. The only thing left for Android to hands down beat iOS is an itunes equivalent but other than that I see no reason you could argue an iphone is better. Oh and the screens on pretty much all new Androids make the iPhone look as sharp as a tube tv.

Because phones nowadays can browse the internet, watch videos, TV programmes and films, play games, act as an eReader, allow you to be more productive, use social networks, take pictures...

And of course, text and call people.

You really want to open the door to this possible fanboy division? In the end, it is what you prefer. It is why I waited until I had hands-on experience with multiple phones and paid attention to what people said about their phones before buying a smart phone. And I mean, the nonchalant, "Oh, I hate when it does this," statements, not things they comment on when asked directly.

Because they are being used as more than just phones. Since getting my iPhone I haven't used my car's radio tuner and one time at work I laughed to myself about a woman reading a physical book in the break room because it seemed so bulky compared to the library I had in my pocket. With one device I am able to read/listen to books, check three email addresses all on one screen/in one inbox, play time filler games, listen to radio that doesn't tick me off by mixing in bad songs, watch TV/movies, surf the web, connect to GTPlanet, track my medical vitals for my doctors, keep up all my appointments, take pictures, record videos, and on the odd occasion I will make a phone call.

And I know there are more things that I could list if I took the time. I thought like you, always got one of the free phones when I renewed my contract, but then had to have one for work. Now I need it for my medical stuff. But all that extra is awesome, and I am ready for most forms of terrestrial broadcasting and print media to fade into non-existence once the baby boomers are gone.

I completely agree and empathize. I don't support the trend towards having all of my electronic devices consolidated into one tiny handheld. Such devices do nothing well and are cesspools of mediocrity on a grand scale. I'm proud of the fact that I have a proper, large, old-school stereo system for my CDs in my room, a CD-geared, non-bluetooth stereo in the car, a seprate camera for pictures, an old music-only iPod, a phone that only gets used for calls and texts, etc.

I like carrying around a bunch of separate devices, because I like to know that whatever I need to do can be done well. I personally think society has gone too far in pursuit of a digital, minimalist, and non-tangible state.

I can understand the convenience that many people see in only carrying one thing with them, but all the same there's something to be said for devices of a more bespoke and dedicated nature.

Don't have pictures but I recently bought/got a iPhone, PS3, MW3, Battlefield 3, F1 2011 and a headset for my PS3:)

I hate to break this to you, but my phone has better audio quality than your old iPod, and is a better web browser than an iPod touch, or an old PDA. It also lets me do my e-mail easier than finding a computer or setting up a laptop to use. And I can shop from it when I am checking prices in store. By taking a picture of the barcode... with the camera built into the phone.

And it fits in one pocket. Versus having to put an Mp3 player, phone, pda, camera, and possibly carry a netbook with me. Hmm...
