Get yourself over to the Vinyl thread. I need to get a deck sorted out. What cartridge did you get? and are you using a separate phono stage?

Right now I'm using the Ortofon 2M Red cartridge that came pre-mounted. My Yamaha Aventage receiver doesn't have a phono input, so I picked up a Pro-Ject Phono Box MM along with the turntable. I may upgarde it in the future to a NAD.

I can't seem to find the vinyl thread.

I had the greatest hits GT4 but the disc is toast from so much playing.

I think my old GT4 disc was scratch from too much playing a few years ago.

I got myself a black label copy of Gran Turismo 1.

As big of a fan of GT I am, slightly embarrassingly I've never played GT1 before, but I've been playing it for a day or two, and Im pleased to say its awesome!

Jimmy Page's autobiography. It releases in October but it is $20 off at Amazon right now and since Mr. Page is by far my favorite guitarist of all time (if you couldn't tell by my PSN name) how could I pass it up?

Now, I bought a mixer awhile ago. That was stage one... This is Stage two.

A decent quality dynamic microphone. I decided to go with an Audix OM5 because the sound engineers I worked with last year recommended them for a good bargain. So that's $300 into the drain.

And stage three is two monitor speakers, a sub, and some stands.

Set me back $1000, but it is all worth it.

So when these all arrive, I will be able to practice with the band finally and start putting some vocal melodies into their nearly ready original songs. And then next time that writing comes round, I can offer input and make it more suitable for my voice.

There is a stage four, which is a Rode NT1 condenser microphone that I can use for recording acoustic guitar and vocals (Good quality vocal covers! HERE I COME!!!!). But I think I've spent almost $3000 over the last month, so I need to stop spending for awhile. :ouch:
 
My 2014 Led Zeppelin remasters came in today. As soon as Pagey announces the next batch of albums I pre-order those too. The vinyl versions are still in the mail.
