Long time no see, but I spent the past few days at a fountain pen sale, and walked away with quite a few purchases! I'll keep things to just a couple photos, but have many more!

My full stack of purchases (aside from the notebooks and highlighters that I use for school)

The inks that I picked up

A Lamy 2000 with fine nib. An absolute staple of fountain pen history

The Diplomat XO. An incredibly interesting design and very limited with mine being number 181 of 265

A 3 pen case from Galen Leather. The perfect size for my pen case for school! I already know what pens I'll be placing in it as well.

And finally for this post, the Omas Bologna Galassia. I'm a huge fan of Omas after their customer service won me over, and this pen is gorgeous. The resin is stunning and all of the different colours swirl together under sunlight.

Alright, that's all the pics I'll put for the moment! Hopefully I don't get pinged for spamming in my first post here after who knows how many years oops!

An independent store (Orbit) was able to import some copies of Arrow's Dollars Trilogy release and I was lucky enough to get all 3 for a pretty reasonable price. Lionsgate Limited also had a clearance sale so I picked up a couple.

I got a Stormy Kromer hat (they're made in the UP of Michigan) since they just released their collegiate collection. I was pretty happy they had OU so I snag one.

Buy it, although I think it will come to PS Premium.
But this is Deluxe at great price.

FYI - it's on Croatian :)

I have just bought a trilogy... no, not that one from Rockstar Games, it's this one:

The moment I saw this at the 2nd-hand game's shop I usually go to, I knew I had to buy it. As you can see, the outer cover is in a bit of a rough shape... but this 3-game pack looks to be the real deal, because every single one of those games have a sign at the back of their cover saying it "cannot be sold separately", so this isn't just an old outer cover filled with 3 separate games put together to look like a legitimate Collector's Series pack.

Each one of the 3 games has its own manual included, and the discs are in very good shape for their age.

The price? 60 euros... Yeah right, I could've gotten all three games for far less than that, I am aware of that, thank you.
But that's not the point, I mean just ask yourself: when was the last time that you've seen a pack like this? Like, ever?!
I know I have never seen one before in my life and probably won't see another one again... Hell, I didn't even know these Collector Series packs existed, so this was the perfect opportunity to grab these 3 NFS that were still missing in my collection.

The classics!

Smart CURTAIN? Are you kidding me?
I like the idea of it if you have a multitude of curtains to close as night falls and don’t want to walk around the whole house closing them.

It does seem rather on the lazy side, but no more so than have a TV remote control.

I'll keep you in mind next time I buy something.

Or you have plants that need light but you don't want your house to be 95F when you get home from work so the curtains can be open for the plants then close as the sun comes around.

I have fish tanks that could do with less sunlight to prevent algae growth. Having them automated or remotely controlled would be a nice touch.

However, the location of my house in its orientation and locality has never prompted us to buy curtains for anywhere other than bedrooms, just to shut out the street lights.

I've had smart shades since 2020 and they're amazing, If I had curtains I'd have the device too. You'd be surprised how many homes are being built now with wi-fi enables appliances. I work in building inspections in Nor. California and had to deny someones wi-fi smart toilet last week.

Are you using Home Assistant to connect all your devices?
No, I have no desire to talk to my curtains and I don't need them to close when the Roomba runs. I just set things to run at certain times.

Home Assistant isn't necessarily voice control - it just lets you use compatible devices (Matter, Zigbee, Google Assistant etc.) with one device.

I recently ordered a used SFF PC, with the intention of installing Home Assistant OS on it (through Proxmox), so I could do stuff like:
  • Turn on TV -> activate LED strip behind TV -> turn off room smart bulbs
  • Disable power to A/V equipment on a schedule overnight with smart plugs
  • Toggle smart plugs using motion sensors
Without having a million separate apps. I don't own half the stuff needed for the above, but minor details.
