Who Let The Dogs Out GIF

Sorry, but it was such a beautiful setup. How could I not!?
Twenty six years, only to find out it was me the entire time...

I discovered The Shoestrings recently. They put out their first album in 1997, and their second in 2021, so… prolific. I checked Bandcamp and saw “66 brand new, unshrinkwrapped copies of the original, long out-of-print CD from 1997 were recently discovered while cleaning out the Le Grand Magistery vaults.” It was already sold out. But I found one online for a reasonable price.

I follow Discontinued Foods on Bluesky. Thats where I learned about this limited summer edition of Bush’s Best baked beans. I ordered them a week ago last Friday, and they were sold out by the following Monday. The flavors are Apple Pie, Dill Pickle, and Rocket Pop. It also comes with a compact Bush’s branded can opener and a beer cozy. Not a bad deal for just $5.25 plus $5 shipping. I’ll be posting about them in the “What are you eating/drinking” thread later. I’m not up for three 28oz cans of beans tonight.

There's only so many albums you can release when your budget is an erm ... shoestring? ;)

I don't know why a 2nd PS5 controller feels like a guilty, 'luxury' item, but it does - so I went the whole hog and got the fancy red one... it is rather lovely though.

I also really like the purple one, and the 'indigo' one is cool too - though I assume @Famine will have the purple one, or both??

Finally bought strong enough, used PC!

Looks very similar to mine.

To commemorate McLaren taking both championship titles last year, I decided to buy the MCL39 in 1/64 scale. And to commemorate the Monaco GP taking place this weekend, I decided to post this purchase I made yesterday:

Originally I wanted the 2 drivers’ respective winning versions, but since the livery of Oscar’s winning car in China does not have any redeeming qualities in relation to other editions rendered in 1/64, and his car in Monaco bore the same livery as the one in Spain, I decided to just go with this. Besides, Oscar was challenging Leclerc’s 2nd place in that race, which is a bonus. :)

The model itself is pretty good, with steering wheel details represented by decals. That strake running down the engine cover is a disappointment though.

Also, these cars are ginormous, if the scale Minichamps used is accurately comparable  Just look at the F2003-GA to its right!

Now I’m left with a headache as to which manufacturer’s take on Lando’s car to go for. Happy dilemma though, seeing that it’s an established brand that’s not Mercedes/RB which’s taking the titles!

I just bought a digital copy of The Day the Earth Stood Still. This is the original 1951 b/w version directed by Robert Wise. It’s a sci-fi classic.

👏
Gort. Garada Nikto.

The picture is misleading since the film is actually black and white, but it's an outstanding film as you know.

Possibly the only 50s alien movie where the alien is the "good guy" and not an allegory for invading Russians.
