i dont know why i thought of this but i just did. In cases where siamese twins have to stay together because for reasons that a seperation might be too dangerous, what happens if one dies? for example they're walking along and one has a heart attack and dies. Do they go ahead and try to seperate the dead one from the live one, or do they both just die? Or what happens if they both live to be old and one just dies from old age?

I think you ought to try and find some case studies for this.

I imagine surgery is tried most the time if one dies, but not always.

Generally if one dies, both die - pretty much due to shock.

Though it depends on the severity of the join.

Yeah. I'd imagine the sepsis would be pretty awful.

Well, if they can't be separated that means they both rely on the other one to live. Doesn't it?

So, then if one dies the other one will die to - one dieing is the same as removing it, so the other one dies.

Makes sense to me. :indiff:

I think you'd want to die rather than trying to drag a decomposing sibling along at the hip..

When you say die of old age, this means that some organ group or many will stop functioning, if it's a necessary group that both twins rely on, than it's safe to say both will die.

Hmmm. Decomposing body parts while rest of body lives. Gangrene. I would assume you would be able to cut them in half without more risk, assuming it's like cutting off a gangrous body part.

Sounds delicious.
