Hmmmm, really okay, thanks, doesn't quite help me though. I was trying to figure out what time we'd be back at Vienna airport from the Red Bull Ring on the 13th, ah well never mind.

I just realised, us guys who are used to RHD cars are going to have a little learning curve, haha

Haha yea. Although most amg cars are autos anyway aren't they? Wouldn't be too bad for us then

I'm actually interested in who has actual track racing experience? I know that the Spanish lad made it to the final 4 in the gt academy and roumers that one of the French guys is some form of go kart racer but does anyone know anything else about our competition?

Ps let the mind games begin :P

I have no experience what so ever and both my cars have under 100bhp. Also, I have never driven an automatic. If I even manage it into the top 10 I will be happy :P

Well I have some experience at track days, but no racing. Car's in the sig.

I know quite a few of the guys from spain and france have done competition rally and road racing before. So the competition will be extremely tough I'm imagining. Although I still don't know exactly what we'll be doing... We won't be racing, I'm guessing time trials, but there also may be skidpan stuff, slalom, advanced car control, that sort of thing.

I don't have any wheel to wheel racing experience apart from intervarsity karting championships with my college but despite only being 20 i have a fair bit elsewhere. I've autotested a fair bit over the last 3 years so i'm really really hoping for lots of skidpan stuff. I tested single seaters for a few days and was fairly competitive lap time wise and drove rally wrxs and escorts before too so im aiming for top 5 at least. Heres hoping that the person who does win the car is off here though!

for anyone who doesnt know what autotesting is (probably all of you) heres a vid of me in action. The route is fixed and you have to memorise it. It has been described as mini gymkhana. I think aus has somting similar called motorkhana :)

Man that looks awesome! The mini really goes, similar stuff in aus would be motorkhana or texihana, I've been meaning to get out there but I've been saving massively for this trip so my car stuff has had to be sacrificed.

yea i know she does! not exactly a standard mini though! Only weighs 460kg and has a 1430cc engine with straight cut gears and quaife diff. I think we worked out that she has a better power to weight ratio than a wrc car.

Got a gt hoodie in the post from my rep today. Looks pretty cool. Black with a small gt logo on the front and big Gran Turismo: The real driving simulator on the back

Just got a mail from Daimler AG, regarding the web 2.0 part of event promoting. It confirmed we will be driving the SLS AMG for all the driving events.
I am so happy right now.

Yeah I'm really suprised but really freakin' excited. Should be awesome going to drive with the AMG driving academy team. :D

Finally, it feels like this is going to happen - Two weeks today we fly out!

All challenges in SLS - bring it on!

what really got me is "and are judged by motorsport pros David Coulthard and Bernd Schneider"

wich in essence means: David godamn Coulthard will be watching and judging my crappy driving skills, he is a legend....
oh god, nerves kicking in now.

Guess we know what David's doing after commentating the British GP then :D

David's to do list:
Fri, Sat, Sun: Watch Schumacher, Vettel, Hamilton, Webber drive.
Mon, Tues: Watch us drive.
:embarrassed:
