Yeah, and it's even worse (or more stupid) when they pull up next to you, rev their little 4-banger or V6 engines and then blast away laughing thinking their winning a race.

Anyone ever get that before?

Haha, that happened to my dad once. Some kid in an RSX revves at a stop light, and my dad took off with him. My dad said that he got about a car length or two on him and backed off. Then the rsx shot passed him and turned on his hazard lights.

I used to have a friend that did that all the time. He had a '99 Civic DX 4 door with altezzas, intake and a muffler, an "Si" badge with the wheels to match, and would just speed off on some one or when someone backs off on a race from him turn on the hazards, dumb:censored: . He let a friend of mine borrow the car for like a day and I was chillin with him and he was raggin on the car and raced a Camaro but he stayed on our tail the whole time through the lane switches and all. Man those were the days. I don't participate myself as I now got my hands on a 89 Celica GT-S and that's a car I don't wanna lose. I'll watch some races happen in front of the carwash where I hang out but I'll refuse to race. The only point proven is just how stupid your @$$ is on the street, I'll just let timeslips from the track do the talking for me.

That guy bought an Enzo for a damn reason. And it sure as hell wasn't for a sunday drive.
It also sure as hell wasn't to go street racing on the highway. Morons street race. Mentally handicapped people race million dollar cars that can go 215 MPH stock.. Case in point. People bought the Enzo because it was a Ferrari, nothing more, nothing less, thus making it for a Sunday drive.. 'Tis not a Porsche, after all. :sly:

That vid was cool, the enzo driver showed em who the boss is.

Both. The laughing made me want to pierce my eardrums with a fork. But then I'd miss the sound of the Enzo :)

Then why, pray tell, do people not professionally race Ferrari's? I'll tell you why: because a good majority of Ferrari drivers can hardly drive at all, much less race cars. They buy Ferrari's because they are Ferrari's. That is why Ferrari can charge practically anything for their cars and have them sell.
All a Ferrari (or honestly, any exotic) needs to do is look fast and rich people will flock to it in droves, because it is exclusive, expensive and looks the part. It has nothing to do with how much cornering G's they have, or fast they can stop from 100MPH. It all has to do with the appeal the car exudes (though I will say that high horsepower does help, as does claimed high top speed). It's similar to needing an SUV. You don't need to be able to tackle Death Valley, but hey, it's there.
Besides, almost every time a rich person does try to take an exotic supercar to it's limits, they usually crash it. People with brains do not street race Ferrari Enzo's (or F50's, F40's or 288 GTO's), because they know that the car is far too much for them to handle if they try.

You: Told me that not all expensive cars are fast even though I already kinda compared a Bently to a Ferrari, and that not all rich people have driving skills.

If you look around enough you can find pleny of pictures of crashed exotics around, because of those no-skill rich people were trying to have fun in their exotics :dopey:

And to the first question, they are probably busy or have other intrests 💡

I don't know Toronado.

I've been to a few car meets at our Speedway, and the Ferrari drivers really know what they're doing.

Of course, though, the best times in the Ferraris were set by F355 Challenges and 1 F50. But I've seen my share of Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc. race around the track, and they do pretty well.

But, as said above, the models that do the best are always the models intended as road-going race cars.

But that doesn't mean that everyone that buys a Ferrari or a Porsche (and especially the
Über expensive ones) does know how to drive them, and I'm sure that as the price goes up, the percentage of owners that can drive them to their limits goes down, and not only because power goes up, but also because driver skill goes down. Besides, if they went to a speedway, their is a legitimate chance that they know what they are doing, and their is also a better chance that they are not just out for a Sunday drive, no?

It's a shame how you assume the majority of Ferrari or other exotic owners have no idea what you're doing. You've likely never been to a Ferrari event and seen what the people there do and how they act. You just assume things about the owners on the basis taht all rich people are arrogant snobs, most of which you are more intelligent and more capable than anyways. It's not like that. Not at all. Sure, there are Ferrari owners who are complete dicks. Since when is that a majority?

Owning a Ferrari isn't about cornering speeds and that stuff any more. It should be, but it's not. It's about what you get with the car. A Ferrari costs more than most other cars because it drives differently than all other cars. It's much more than a car.

SO, none of you people have ever screwed around on the freeway in your cars? Or is it just because all of your cars are too slow and unsafe to do so? ok I'm kidding about the last part.......
I mean, ok I can understand why the guy in the supra wanted to mess with an Enzo... but to keep tryin when you know you're completley outmatched is just lame...

I am guilty of both street racing, and high speed driving on the freeway.. Hell I once topped out my old GSX-R 1000 early one sunday morning on an empty freeway..(thats speed limited to 186 mph...indicated anyway) I have gone over 150 mph in my Mustang more than once...
Yes It was stupid, and yes I could've killed myself or someone nearby...
about a year later a careless driving ticket, cured me of my stupidity for the most part...... Now I keep it on the track mostly, But If I get caught at a light next to a WRX or a Camaro or whatever, I'll go... I mean Im not gonna rev at the guy tryin to get a race out of them, but I'll go if they do. lol
But thats just me, I'm not gonna say its ok to do it.. but i cant say that I have not been there either...
