This is only good news for PS3 fans. For those that do not know Simbin makes some of the most realist and respected racing sims for the PC. This is probably going to be a slightly different version of Race Pro (for the 360). Except we will be able to use the G25 :sly: and the 360 is stuck with the official xbox wheel and the $400 Fanatec wheel. I hope it uses their newly developed engine. Anyways this and NFS Shift should provide a very good tie me over until GT5 comes out.

By "be like Race Pro" I meant, follow a similar formula (Car classes, campaign, online multiplayer etc). I know the game will not be based off of Race Pro but it should play similarly ie not NFS or Forza.

I played Ferrari Challenge... meh. Got bored after a weekend. I really wish GRiD had good physics because that game was awesome minus that huge flaw.

The article is from August 2008. So far we haven't heard anything else of their project since that time. I really hope they are still working on it and have something to show soon. :)

I give up.

Those of us who think FC is a pretty good game & have played it for hundreds of hours are obviously delusional. GT5P, F1CE, FC - are ALL good games. If you have played them to death & are looking for something new, fair enough, but if you haven't got into them, you are missing out...

I got through most of the game and personally I just found it too easy. Sure it had nice effects and the cars were cool and the online was decent but overall it just didn't do it for me. I am not at all saying it is a bad game.

I am currently switching between GT5p and GTR Evolution for the PC. Running the Nurburgring with the Keonnigseggsegsegseg CCX is truly terrifying. The FFB with the G25 is amazing. The only things I have against GTRE is that my laptop cannot run it with a lot of cars on screen, the Ai is kinda dumb anyway, it takes forever to load and overall the graphics kinda suck even on max (well at least compared to GT).

I agree mostly, I find Ferrari Challenge lacking. Not a lot mind, just those tiny little details that would keep me playing the game. The 2 reasons I would normally have to play the game are not so great: single player modes are limited and don't feel rewarding enough beyond unlocking extra cars of which there aren't that many and the one-make races get dull after a while. The online mode as I've said before numerous times is not perfect.
These aren't major problems, I still enjoy playing the game and still play it but I don't have the same draw to re-playing it as I do for F1:CE or GT5:P.

Still a good game I'd recommend to people, its just not one I'd say is the best nor do I play it more than the others. I even prefer the physics engine most of the time but because the game is limited in other areas I'm not so eager to jump back on it. I'm not normally bothered by reward systems and usually only care about the core gameplay, but in this case, it just doesn't give enough game for my money, it doesn't have enough replayability and I think the main reason is the rewards and the problems with the online.

I really wish GRiD had better driving physics because that game really did a great job in just about everything else. Well the online was kinda crappy but stuff like the sound, graphics, car/track selection etc were all really great.

There's just no way you could have "got through most of the game" in a "weekend"! There are a lot of quite different cars in the game & they each take many hours to master. As it stands (after the updates), the offline is decent (much better than GT5P IMO). The online has problems, but (with smaller lobbies) provides a pretty good racing experience -certainly better than F1CE online. The degree of difficulty is going to be relative to the online opposition you're facing.

If you can tear yourself away from F1CE it would be good to see you back Ardius (yes, those 8 player lobbies didn't work well, but 3,4 5 player lobbies generally work fine). Of course, you're going to have your butt kicked for a while - maybe you can't handle that... :mischievous:

All three games: GT5P, FC & F1CE are good games: I would choose F1CE for its excellent & challenging offline play, FC for its great FFB & variety of cars & tracks & GT5P for its amazing visuals & smooth, but limited online play.

My point to you paskowitz is: fully exploit what IS available for the PS3 now, because the new Simbin game, when it finally arrives, may also turn out to be less than perfect...

I have not tried F1CE. Sounds fun. I beat games pretty quickly. Its not really skill I am just very efficient. I do not buy cars or items that are not needed and I focus on the events or missions that get me the most money. I did not finish FC but I would say I completed about 60% + of the events. I am not saying I have nothing to play until GT5 comes out (MGS4, COD4, GTAIV, Killzone 2, LBP etc) I just hope that if GT5 does take a long time to come out that this next NFS game will be just another game added to the list.

This FC V's GT5p V's F1CE topic seems to be a little "viral" at te moment, croping up all over the place! little diggs here and there over which is best. Biggles mate just ignore it you put your points over well in the thread regarding the issue and theres no need to bang your head against the wall any further LOL.
I've not posted my thoughts on the subject but I will go amend that now, getting back to the subject some mixed previews are coming back about sinbins race pro which has just gone gold and has a 360 demo iminent, basicly it's being critisised on 2 issues, first up is the single player progression system and second is it's level of simulation is too much (if that's an issue for sim fans LOL) See the official Sinbin website forum for links.
Not been able to track anything other than the dutch article on Sinbins PS3 development? maybe details will come out once they've got the 360 stuff out and the PR team can shift it's focus onto the ps3.

You are right no more FC vs F1CE vs GT5p.

I think the problem with Race Pro is a lot of the reviewers are not used to the level of realism. Again like you said for the people this game is aimed at, it really does not matter. I do agree from the looks of it the single player needs to more structured ie GRiD and Forza. This is good for PS3 fans because by the time the PS3 title comes around they will hopefully have learned from their mistakes.

Actually my major motivation for pushing FC is because it, & for that matter F1CE, are under-appreciated. Overall, I would rank GT5P, FC & F1CE about equal in what they have to offer the sim fan, but the Gran Turismo series is the 800 pound gorilla in the room that nobody seems to able to see past. Also, I would really like to have more GTPlanet members to play FC online against.

It will be great if Simbin produces a good racing title for the PS3, but that's likely to take a considerable time. In the meantime, I would certainly recommend any PS3 sim fan to give F1CE & FC & decent look.

As far as "beating" a racing sim game is concerned, for me, by far the most fun is to be head racing online - you'll never beat that (unless you're Rudi or Fishfash or Sarrinen ;)

I recon it will just be Race Pro 09 or something, basically an updated version on the 360 version. :)

Robin.

It is really good news, because I am a PS3 fan, I own 360 as well, but I do not have a wheel for it so I wont buy the 360 version.
BUT! PS3 will even might make it into a rental for me (I never rent games lol)
I only might buy it if they do a COMPLETE port of SIMULATION from PC. 360 version so far looks like really watered down version of Race 07 and GTR EVO, so if PS3 will have same version why would I play weaker version on PS3 if I can play much better realistic game on PC..
But that is my opinion so far.. I really hope they do not mess up, and bring every little thing from PC to PS3.

Ok guys bad news. I emailed Simbin and just got a reply. It ran as follows:
"
Hi Alex

Thanks for the kind words, great to hear you are making a family event out of your racing.

With regards to any PS3 related developments I can’t comment on intarweb rumors ;)

Right now we are busy on the Xbox 360 release and have no PS3 title in the immediate pipeline, but of course it’s the aim of any developer to have a presence on as many platforms as possible, so who knows what the future might bring.

Best Regards:
Mikkel Gram-Hansen "

Looks like there is no PS3 title in the pipe for at least a couple of months. I think they are more looking into the possibility of a game for the PS3. I still think they have something but it is in the planning stages. Whatever they are doing for the PS3 I think is going to be a larger project because otherwise they would have just made a 360 and PS3 version of Race Pro.

That article basically confirms what I said. They are thinking about a new title but are not currently developing one. My guess is that the new PC title with the lizard engine will be similar to whatever the PS3 project is.

I've been looking into Race Pro quite a lot recently, read the first review which gave it 80% which was pretty good. I accused the game of the not very good graphics, and so did the reviewer, so I'm not the only one. I'm going to probably buy it, and also this new game as well, if the rumors are true of course. If not, I don't really mind because I will have a Simbin console game anyway, Race Pro.
