  • They should show a standard and a premium side by side or whatever but should show them both

this would be like if Ferrari made a terrible car, and then plastered it all over their website. no. not false advertising either.

Well Gt made about 800 terribles ones out of the +1200. Just to clarify they are terrible for today's standards and when compared to Premiums, back in 2004(???) they were great but we didn't have 1080p to show them in all their pixelated glory.

You think Audi show you the bottom of the range A5 in the dealership or brochures? Of course not, they use the upgraded, shiny awesome one. no different.

Pointless thread is pointless

Even if they did put a standard on the cover, it would probably be a semi-premium one so it would still look decent.

Anyone who buys a game and thinks the cover is an actual representation of game graphics... man. Even "The Last of Us" which is an awesome looking game is not as good as the cover.

The OP is probably someone who buys Playboy and on meeting a model in real life asks why she isn't airbrushed! I used to come to this site for GT. Now I come to watch the trolls.

There are no longer distinctions made between Premium and Standard cars as in the previous version of GT, but Standard equivalent cars will only have simplified cockpit views.

This right here is a thousand times incorrect. Many standards have pixilated paint and looks scratchy, not just a simplified cockpit view. To there defense, all they have to say is "It meets our regulations of graphics".

I mean isn't it misleading or even false advertising? If you go to GT's website you will never see photos of them and even on this website every banner selling GT has beautiful renders of premium cars, which of course are in the game but they are the minority.

Shouldn't we get banners with one of these cars as well? What do you think?View attachment 202265

Great idea!
They should also show the glitches and bugs that will come with the game.
Also, right there in the background (cause that's where all the action is), they should have a depiction of the promises that will never be fulfilled.

^ Cover car right there.

I'd buy two copies of the game if it had that on the cover!!

I don't think standard cars should be on the cover. It's simple marketing: PD wants to show that their game is as beautiful as one normally expects, putting a dodgy standard car on the cover will scare people away. I like standard cars in the sense that I don't mind driving them but when you look at close-ups, it makes you want to vomit sometimes... :(

In a society that is obsessed with looks and in an industry that's obsessed with high quality graphics, you really think having the least detailed car on the cover is a great idea?

They could put a car made with 10 polygons on the cover I couldn't care less, the problem is poor detailed cars are IN the game.

Pretty Graphics still sell games and I guarantee more people will not buy a current game if its cover looks like its from the PS1 era. You and a few won't care, but many more will.

What about Minecraft?

Minecraft isn't even a franchise like GT is so it doesn't even come close counting. That game was designed from the start to look like that unlike the Big titles.

GT7 is being designed as we speak with the idea of keeping standards in the game so it would be representative of how the game will look. Same as with GT6, they always knew they would include them, they put them in the game, they are the majority of cars yet there is not one word about in their website.
