Site Downtime - GTP6 Coming Monday, June 7

GTPlanet will be offline Monday, June 7, 2004 for the upgrade to the new version of our site, GTP6. I'm really excited about releasing the new site for you guys...it's taken more than 6 months of hard work to develop it to the point that it is now, and I finally think it's ready for prime time. I will put the finishing touches on the layout over the weekend, and on Monday the site will be down for a few hours while I change everything. In addition to a new look for the site, we'll also be upgrading to vBulletin 3.0.1 - a huge change in itself, which will give you all an incredible array of new features to use here in the forums. Our moderator team is also in for a few special surprises, and there is a good chance GTPremium (subscription services) will be ready to go on Monday as well. If you have any questions or concerns about the new site please don't hesitate to ask (which I'm sure you won't). :)

Where do I send the cash? Jeees... You're a tease sometimes Jordan. Now I gotta wait until Monday for this?

GTPremium? bah i hate subscription services, like at deviantart, "special fetures" my ass, they take the fun out of a normaly free website.


edit: also cant wait for gtp6
 
I hope you dont take any features away from non-subscription people. I will NOT pay to use forums. I hope you made the right choice with GTPremium and don't become a money-whoring b@stard like ign became.

Just teasin'. Anyway, my only question is... is that globe the new logo for GTP? (It's quite fitting, though I can't figure out why Norway fell off of the rest of Europe :p)
 
I'm glad you told us about GTP6 now instead of 6 months ago when you started it. We won't have an intermittable wait for it like we do with GT4!

I think you're a wee bit confused... GTP refers to "GTPlanet", as in, this website. You're referring to GT4, the game.
 
And don't count on Ferraris.
Long as it's worth paying for, I'll pay for it.
But, like, the worth it part - that's big.

Hmm, GTPremium, eh? You pulling a leg of mine or something? Mehr, I'd pay for it if it came to that. Can't wait for GTP6, good luck with it; I hope everything goes according to plan...
 
Not too keen on the GTPremium thingie, but oh well. Last time GTP went down "for a few hours", it ended up taking a few days, and for some the world almost stopped... Hopefully we won't get those kind of comments should something similar happen.

I bet GTP6 will be great. New vB sounds excellent.

Each new GTP has been better than the previouse version; I'm sure you'll keep the streak going. And if you don't, well...!
 
GTP has always seemed to look a lot nicer than most other forums. Classier, neater, more enjoyable to browse. Hopefully Jordan's new design will continue that.

I do agree with others. I hope this GTPremium only adds futures, such as larger avatar size limits, personal web space on GTP servers and the such. I, for one, will be quite disappionted if it takes away already available futures.

Jordan, I'm eager to see the new layout and the new features! Good luck with the transition. Thanks as always for the time, effort, and money you spend providing this forum for us to enjoy.
