R/C drifting is rather simple really. and a lot of fun for the fraction of the price
Guy's with out a lot of money (me) use PVC pipe (about 50mm) or ABS pipe (which is black..looks more like a tyre) to drift on.
If you go to your local hardware strore, they should have off cuts they can give to you for free.
We put the pipe around our wheels. (obviously). It basically just makes the car slide.. and not so slippery you can't control
Some people buy "Yokomo" drift chassis'. which are built to drift. They work by 2 plastic rings around a rubber compunded slick tyre. which basically has the same effect as the PVC pipe.
If you want to start.. i suggest you buy a TT-01.... buy the essentials and what not. and wack some pipe on
It'll cost you about $400 (aus).. for a very basic set-up
and they're are countless hop-ups you can do whcih can really push you over the $1000 (aus) mark.
