Skyline R34, Drift R/C

ok thanks man if i have any more i will pm you i think 74 dollars is a good price for that r/c, so i should have it buy next week its gonna be a while probley before i get the shell i want to learn to drift first before i paint and put the shell on and reck and screw it up. so i will keep you updated.
 
Yeah.. you can't just buy the chassis..
You'll need to buy radio Control (with servo etc.. included). plus a battery and charger
(a mechanical speed control will come with it.. that should do you for the mean time)
Radio control set: $100 (aus)
Battery: $50 (aus) <----poss cheaper
Charger: $60
it costs a little bit to set up.
 
Ok, I've understood drifting real cars, but how exactly do these drift, and where can I find a beginner one?

R/C drifting is rather simple really. and a lot of fun for the fraction of the price
Guy's with out a lot of money (me) use PVC pipe (about 50mm) or ABS pipe (which is black..looks more like a tyre) to drift on.
If you go to your local hardware strore, they should have off cuts they can give to you for free.
We put the pipe around our wheels. (obviously). It basically just makes the car slide.. and not so slippery you can't control
Some people buy "Yokomo" drift chassis'. which are built to drift. They work by 2 plastic rings around a rubber compunded slick tyre. which basically has the same effect as the PVC pipe.

If you want to start.. i suggest you buy a TT-01.... buy the essentials and what not. and wack some pipe on
It'll cost you about $400 (aus).. for a very basic set-up
and they're are countless hop-ups you can do whcih can really push you over the $1000 (aus) mark.

Cool. Now the pipes. Can they work on a few R/C cars that you can buy at regular stores?

I have a Nikko Viper GTSR Concept, and can do some 360s and such.
Would the pipes work for something like this?

I also have a BMW V12 LMR car that has some power.
 
Well, I can never find these things for sale anywhere, and some sites want a **** load of cash.

The BMW V12 one isn't a Nikko though.

hmm, back is a little plain. Maybe a skyline sticker inbetween the two lights. and outline the Lights them selves with black texta (have a steady hand). that'ss make the lights really stand out 👍

And That exhaust is frigin awesome.. Post some pics up when you have the exhaust fitted.
 
Yeah the back does look like arse (pun not intended :D) but Frewers don't supply any more stickers for the back, just the lights.. Frewers bodies aren't as detailed as HPI bodies are and that's reflected in the price...

The place where I got this body from had an R32 GTR body .... for a measly $90 :ouch:

The exhuast I'm actually quite proud of :D You can see the cutout in the rear end where it'll go, just gotta figure out a mounting..
 
For mounting,
1.)Grab a thin strip of stainless steal metal (or any kind of bendible metal)... and make sure its light.

2.) Bend the thin strip at a 90 degree angle. Diagram ------->"|_" :sly:

3.) Grab some shoe gue (or super glue; shoe gue works the best) and glue your piece of metal onto the shell (on the inside).

4.) further more take your exhaust and using the shoe gue, glue your exhaust onto the metal.

I used this method for mounting my exhaust
NOTE: if you have no show gue, use tape lol... i used tape.

Not too keen on the current mounting, so I'm fixing it up a bit, when I'm happy I'll put a pic up of how it's mounted.

As I think I said before, it's made out of mild steel and will rust soon.

But I have a length of stainless steel that I can turn up later on anwyay :D

Now I just need to get the engine :irked:
 
I would love to have one of these but the streets near our house would chew up the tires in no time.
 
^^^^ You have no local Car park?, or track?
Plus i never use tires. :sly: Only ABS..

But to tell you the truth, don't waste your money on these little suckers, put your money on the :1/1 scale machines.
