I love sleepers, Here's one of my favorites:

For me, this car is the all-out ultimate sleeper alongside the "Fram Truck" poster by MT.

Underhood it has a twin-Rotrex-blown LS2 that pushes 1,100+ hp at the rears:

And feeding that is the real eyebrow raiser: two complete fuel systems. The "octane on demand" setup runs the stock gas tank with fuel pump for puttering around town. When your foot stopms it, the extra set of injectors in the second fuel system kicks in delivering race gas from a trunk-mounted fuell cell. It's all maintained in control with BigStuff3's EFI with, of course, a completely custom tune.

The Sleeper theme runs trpoughout the car. The interior is rat-ladden fresh, the rollcage was hidden INCREDIBLY WELL in this car and you won't find a telltale Ratchet shifter, the Powerglide is controlled... by the horn button.

Even more: the rear steel wheels have been widened on the inside so the wheels won't have a deep dish and tell the game away. This car is a dragon on old sheep's clothing:

Best time the last time I checked was a low nine, and I think the thing ran Hot Rod's Drag Week just about two weeks ago, so it is still in hard trashing since the car was featured in 2009.

I don't know. If it has big ol' drag slicks on it, I'm not gonna try to race it. A sleeper is a car that looks unassuming; like it couldn't beat molasses. These two, with the slicks, look like they regularly kick ass. (especially considering drag slicks aren't cheap.) In my opinion, if it's got drag racing tires on it, it's not a sleeper.

These are my sleepers.Silver one makes around 1,000whp green one made 557whp,may she rest in peace....:-( The green 93' ran a best of 10.66 @ 137mph on MS-103/107 The silver 92' has not yet ran with it's new engine/drivetrain program. Ran 9.41 @ 151mph 6 yrs ago with 200hp less and 200lbs heavier. I'm confident it will run in the 8.80's or better.

I've got another Accord example, more locally, that's... borderline sleeper... maybe. Only a few real hints that it's modified (complete body neffy wrap, a battery terminal on the outside of the bumper, hood pins and "PFI Speed" across the lower windshield). It's running 612 whp out of the SOHC 2.2L it came from the factory with. 11.86 @ 120mph. Before he can go much faster he's gotta get a cage. Okay, maybe not a sleeper, but you look at that body with a bit of a squint, then look under the hood. That is easily the most beautiful engine bay I've ever layed eyes on.

Those are wicked numbers. Your cars are in NO way sleepers, they look obviously modified. However, I don't think anyone would even think that one of those could be pushing one thousand horses. Therein would lie the surprise. If I was cruising in say a Vette, I wouldn't even doubt about tackling you. Then I'd run away with my tail 'tween my legs.

The question is if you drive them on the street. Specially the silver one. If not, not sleepers at all.

I remember reading about this a while back. It's an Alfa Romeo 164... with an F1 engine . There was supposed to be a "ProCar" series that was to run along side F1 with cars that appeared as normal street cars, but had F1 engines and chassis. The series never made it, and Alfa Romeo was left with a prototype.

Yes,I do. Thats why I posted them. The green one was really stock looking on the exterior. It eventually had a few stickers on it but in the beginning it was bone stock looking on the outside. I had all kinds of crap-mobiles try to race me on the street. I just roll my eyes and let them burn up their gas flyin' by. However I've put a few "HOLY ****" looks on bikers faces in that car. After having it tuned at Turbotrix in New Jersey I was on the thruway and got next to a pair of 01' or 02' Suzuki GSX-R750's. They both were on my drivers side so they saw and heard the exhaust. We were already going 70mph when we went and I had several car lengths on them by the time I burried my speedo at over 150mph. Like I said that cars best time was 10.66 @ 137mph and that was race fuel. But the car was otherwise street legal and had been driven around town all summer long on the same setup.
The silver one does'nt go on the road with the chute on,and the cage is not that visible to where you can see it a mile away. Sure,you can tell it's modified but not to the extent that it is. Realistically street tires can hold up to about 700whp on this car before it becomes a real pain in the ass to drive and honestly a little dangerous. I'm just as sick in the head as the next guy when it comes to speed but some things are just flat out stupid. 800-900whp in this car on street tires is just asking for something retarded to happen. Even 700whp lights up all four when on radials.

My dads friend has a mid 2000s Chevy 3500 Diesel that he modified slightly. It has about 1000ft-lb of torque and can out drag a mustang. Not bad for a 7000lb+ truck.
