Slowest car for PD

I've run the first race in the Lotus Elise, I won by about 4 or 5 seconds. I was able to win on a 1 pit strategy using T2's. You might also be albe to do in an Opel Speedster if you run the same "1-pit" strategy. The Opel has less than 150 Hp, but is one of the most awsome handling cars, even bone stock.
My issue with running the entire series in one of these is the horsepower lost thru extensive mileage. Neither the Elise, nor the Speedster can afford the power loss that would be suffered thru the series. You could probably win pretty easily in the Vanquish. If you stay with the "A" class cars you should win with little problem.

So ideally you need a car that will win by about 10 seconds on the first race to be competitive later in the series...:irked:

It looks like I'll be running a competitive race then. I started the race last night in the Tommy Kaira ZZS and managed Trial Mtn with a 12.225 second win over the Elise 190. I tried 12 times to start the series with the 350Z as the main opponent, but it refused to show.

Only had itme last night for the first two races.
Took Trial mtn. by over 12 seconds, and Midfield 2 by 32+.

I'll be posting the write-up as I go.

what about a 240sx aero??? I think that would be able to do it. If an Integra can do it, why not?

Translation for PAL users: 180SX

I think it will walk it, in all honesty. I'd LOVE to see someone do it in a CL600 though. I think it'll be a 10/10 win series, but a car THAT heavy has to just munch tyres... :D

what about the Kompressor? or the BMW 3 series? what about the Lancia car, or is that a rally car???

Well, the Lancia is a rally car, but I can turn it into a road car with mk's if you'd like... :D

The SLK230 has the same power-to-weight ratio stock as the CL600 (err, I think). The CL600 should, in theory, be quicker as the larger engine with more power and torque should allow it to cope better with the hills. But if it chews up tyres the way I think it will, it's going to need a pit stop - certainly on Apricot Hill 2...

indeed on Apricott, that track is a burden for tires. I would hate to be in the tires shoes. . . Their getting put on the car and screaming "NONONONO!!!" if the Lancia is a rally car, I don't think that it would bwe much of a challenge to win with it then. .. what about a Mira? Where is the infamous Pitz when you need it?

The cars with 63 bhp will get absolutely owned...no doubt.

Yeh, if it's on Laguna Seca you'd definitely win. :)

Actually, with the Delta it might not be that straightforward. Assume that you're not allowed to change the gear ratios - they can only hit 130mph tops. Sure they'd blast through the corners (or out of them at least), but on the straights the Pitz would pass 'em backwards...

lots of interesting thoughts going on here...

I had a trail runinthe fiat, but had the wrong tires. the rx8 almost lapped me :(
maybe with t2 tires. it was heaps quicker tho

Hey, but the Fiat only has about 200 bhp right? The RX8/350Z has about 3xx bhp, and the RX7 has about 2xx bhp...I don't think it will win...unless you go with an RX7 was the main car.

But I reckon the gap would probably be just a little bit of a win...

toyota sprinter
opel speedster
??????? Mira

Yeh, how much did you win by?

I ran a couple of PD races in a Legacy B4 and was pretty competitive - I think I snagged a very tight win and a couple of top 3 finishes. Someone of better ability should be able to win with it.

FF cars must be hard because of the low bhp and acceleration...for some reason i keep thinking the RSX is the Integra...:banghead: I know they're only one gen apart but I think GTC got to me...

Yeah - they're also hard on front tyres, especially at tracks like Apricot Hill and GVS. I think that's why the mid-engined cars do so well in the PD.

Actually, just on this I tried the Integra Type R at Trial Mountain in the PD - got slaughtered. Might be better on softer rears, but I couldn't come up to pace quick enough - I managed fourth in front of the Lancers but the Z Concept was a minute up the road.

I tried it again in the V6 Clio - got up by about 12 second. That's a fun little car - couldn't live with the torque of the Nissan up the hill and down the back straight, but superb through the twisties through to pit straight and the fast chicane. I 'll do a series with the little blue Clio, methinks.

I wonder if I could do it in an S13 Silvia? (2000cc model)
I'll try it in that or the VX220, if that fails i'll go elise or ZZ-S like Der Alta.
