smoke and dust in review mirror and side mirrors

This is an odd thing, because its almost like its there and they forgot to add it, because if you physically check the rear view (down by default), all the smoke and dust appears, yet in the small rear view box while driving, nothings showing up... It could be that it can't render the smoke and dust due to the huge demand of the by the second calculations of the race.

Can we confirm this is behaving the same during replays?

...would be nice, but you all know how old PS3 is do you?

Hope for this in next instance of GT... not only that but also reflection of car etc...

Cheers...

When you look back to see these effects you change your view, while wanting them in your rear-view or wing mirrors you are rendering an additional scene - ie What is behind you while also continuing with your forward view.

It would be a silly waste of processing power when other issues are far more important.

Ok but think of it this way then, do you turn around to see tyre smoke when you do burn out in a real car? no you see it in the side and review mirror.

ps3 couldn't handle it.

If they ran the mirrors at 30fps instead of 60fps it could. They'd have up to twice the processing power & could also get rid of pop up & low res textures too.

That is of course true but reality is not limited by 8 year old technology. It would certainly be nice to have but general performance will always take priority over these almost superfluous details.

Love the avatar by the way @VBR. Brilliant!

I was also disappointed that you don't get the effects shown in the rear view.

Seeing the blackies from the tires in the rear view would for sure add to the realism.
