SNAIL Division 2 - June 2016 Season

Alright racers , as you can see in the second post of this thread we have a few vacant positions that need to be filled so we can have a smooth running night. If there's a position you can cover please volunteer here. Don't be afraid , lots of knowledge around here so training is easy and you earn shells for purchases in the snail marketplace.
 
Tonight (6/5) will be my 2nd ever SNAIL race, so if you're comfortable with a newbie filling in a role then I'm all for it. I suppose as a backup replayer? Seems pretty self explanatory, I remember reading somewhere around here how to extract and upload replays.

And what exactly is the difference between a scorekeeper and data specialist?
 
Scorekeeper enters the necessary stats in to Google docs. for prize purposes and the votes at the end of the night. Usually done on the fly Sunday night. DATA fills in the rest of the race data later in the week. I've never done either so I'm sure someone has a much better explination.

Save all the REPLAYS tonight and the upload process is easy if you have a usb key and a pc. REPLAYS have until 8pm est on Monday to be uploaded. Give it a try , I'll save all REPLAYS just in case

Sheet is blank because we have no scorekeeper. I have some pictures i could upload of the data. @SAMHAIN85 could you try and upload the replays you have to the public folder? If you have any troubles, being your first try and all, @CoachMK21 or one of the other execs can hopefully help out. I'll check back through the day to see how things are going. Off to work. :cheers:

Finishing orders have been input to the D2 scoring sheet. I was not sure how to sort to bring all participating drivers together on the sheet. Also, I am waiting for User to send over pics of the results screen to input the total times, and I hope he or someone has the votes recorded so that I can get them in as well. Let me know if you see the results, and if there are any problems. Thanks.

Scorekeeping would be very difficult on a phone. A larger tablet might be easier (only because it's bigger), but it's been my experience that Google Docs just isn't as functional on a phone as it is on a computer.

We appreciate the offer Oscar , you don't happen to have a laptop? I agree with coach here , it's not that it's impossible to do with a phone. More that there a lot of smallish fields to enter the data in and combine it with the small screen of the phone it can be difficult. If we don't get any volunteers with a laptop maybe we could give it a shot and I'll have pictures to back up just in case.

Division mates , Just to highlight what happens here. There are cut off times for getting scores data and REPLAYS in. If for whatever reason we miss a commitment, our division is disqualified from prizes. We need volunteers to cover positions and we need backups just incase someone is not racing that night. If you think your here just to race, then maybe it's time you think about helping out. The fun you have can only happen with the volunteers working behind the scenes and this division seems to be lacking the help necessary.

@SAMHAIN85 if you've got the REPLAYS in, thank you!! and make a post in the main thread so you can collect your shells.(i haven't checked main thread, maybe you already have) If your having troubles let us know so we can figure things out.
 
Can't seem to find my flashdrive anywhere. Im running over to bestbuy to grab one right now, and will hopefully have them up within the hour.

You can slot me in as primary scorekeeper for this month if needed along with hosting. Does the permission to edit last all month, indefinitely, or for the week we race only. As long as I have the necessary permission to access, I would be glad to take care of it.

At the moment I have no computer at home , because I have in my business and desktop , I wish I could help , I have a desktop computer at home, but it's a relic , it would have to see if it still works and move it to my bedroom. I do not promise anything with it because it is a computer for more than 15 years ago. The latest operating system that was put Windows XP.

I could also upload replays career, if Sam can not. Since Monday I get to work and have the computer right there to raise them without problems.

I sense you would really like to help out so I hate to turn you away. Save all the replays on Sunday night's and I'll have you as a backup there as well. A lot of times someone will forget to save one or maybe they get disconnected mid race so it's always good to have extra people with REPLAYS.
 
I could act as a backup scorekeeper. I wouldn't be able to input on the night but if ever the need arose I could do them in the morning my time when you guys are all tucked up in bed.

I'm ready to throw my computer(s) out the window. I grab the flash drive, turn on my laptop and start watching the "how to" youtube video for replays. Ok cool, save them one by one with no problem. Look down at my laptop and it says restarting. Hmm..ok. Wait, why is it telling me It's now beginning to update to Windows 10. WTF! I didn't allow it to do that, I don't even want that crap. Now it's currently updating at 60% and I have to leave for work in about 10 minutes. I was able to turn on my desktop which hasnt been working, and I *think* the zip is being uploaded to the d2 public folder. It says 5 mins left on the upload. If it doesn't work I'll try to upload the replays to another file sharing site and maybe someone else can upload it to the drive before the cut off time. Or if you're able to do it this time User thatd be great. I would've taken care of all this right after the races, but had to get going and didn't get back home until a few hours ago.

Edit: Replays are in the d2 public folder. (in Google drive: Public Uploads > D2 Public) Can someone double check and verify? And make sure my files arent corrupted and everything is good? I gotta jam to work, will check thread throughout the day
