I'll be there I may be a little later then 9pm got to go get my kids from across town. I will be no later then 9:15

Guys. Let's get this garbage fixed. Start with Speedtest.net results to each coast for everyone. If anyone is running their PS3 connected via wifi, go buy a cable before next week.

@MajorBlixem I forgot to submit my vote prior to leaving. I vote for 1 as it was the only combo I was able to complete. I hope you guys have better luck with your connections than some of us did.

Don't all rush to post those tests at the same time now. I already know how this dance works. Those with solid connections post their speeds and those with questionable connections ignore the issue and hope it will go away. It's not going away. If we can't get tests from everyone and work to figure out the issue, the fix is to change to fixed host. When a room runs with fixed host, the poor connections in the room don't effect every other driver, they just get dropped when they have problems.

This is not a server issue. The only purpose that the server in GT serves is to authenticate a user. Once that is done, the data is transferred directly between the users in the room in a mesh network (non fixed host) or a star network (fixed host). The main difference between the two is that a mesh network has every driver connected to every other driver all the time. A star network has every driver connected to the host and the data is relayed through the host.

WE just got done racing for the night!

And that's the problem that WE need to fix.
YOU weren't involved in the nights entertainment. WE knew what the problem was and WE were fixing it before YOU showed up and couldn't see flip (which I knew was going to happen) Then YOU threw a hissy fit and stormed off before I got a chance to fix it. Maybe YOU should show up at 9:00 like everyone else instead 5 minutes before (oh wait you can't snail obligation).

OR YOU should see whats going on before spouting off and throwing a hissy fit! Then while WE are racing putting up a post about how WE have to do what YOU want.

I will not put my connection down it's the same it has always been and same it will always be until I get a better upload speed in my area.

Nevermind. You said you'll not willing to help find a solution. I'm not willing to spend any time dealing with you.

Skip all the steps, let's find a fixed host and just do it that way. Any volunteers?

The first issue we had tonight was 4 people tried to join the room at the same time. Once everyone had loaded into that room. I made a new room and we slow loaded the room(you came in the middle of that). The second problem we had was I got locked in the load screen switching between R1 R1 and R1 R2 (tryed to double load the room game didn't like it). Third problem we had was I gave the room to major he forgot to switch the 2 races (another back out) #3rd problem we had was server boot from major, 4th problem we had Penguin can't see spa still, 5th problem is the one that you bring up D4 has alot of crappy connections and people who fight with each other. EX: you and major, Scorpion and who ever his internet wants to hate on a particular night.

The solution is to enjoy each other ,talk, relax, figure it out, and work through each problem as it comes.

Some nights will be great, some nights will suck. But leaving because A) you don't want to deal with it B) shooting off at the mouth or C) just having a piss pore attitude all night, doesn't solve anything and hurts the other with in the division!

We started with 12 we ended with 7. Yes there are some that needed to go to work in the morning. Their are some who didn't want to spew venom and left. Their are some that are just NEW! But guess what the 7 that stayed enjoyed what it is they wanted to do that night and had some grand old racin times.

Spa might have been a temporary problem with all the other issues tonight. It worked fine on Thursday

Here is my speed test. The issues tonight have to be resolved if a fixed host is the solution then lets do that. This was not a server issue what so ever. How could it have been its peer to peer. Having guys back out and dealing with lag issues of tonights magnitude ruins the whole reason we come out to race. Lets do fixed host and problem is solved.

ps: just curious was anyone racing tonight using wifi? be honest. FTR no matter how good you think your wifi is. it's never stable enough to use in a game like this. I get over 50mbps via wifi and I would never in a million years use it to race or play online with others. Random drops and signal degradation are implicit. You can't use it with any level of consistency you have to have a CAT5 hardline. Just a reminder.

I don't think he threw a fit Birdy. I think he just understood what the issue was and didn't want to sit around go through what we all had to go through. Which really sucked. We never really did fix the issue. Certainly not in the first two combo's anyway. it looks like a fixed host is the solution so lets do that. Or lets take a look at everyone's connection speeds and see what comes from it.

I didn't see the message, as it was really late and I went straight to bed. I'll do them when I get home tonight.

I'm also up for testing with fixed host. D6 had problems not too long ago and they seemed to solve them after going fixed host, as I don't remember hearing anything about it afterwards.

Yeah, first combo I didn't feel it so much, but at Spa, it was very bad, at least for me. I had different responses to the same breaking point on every lap, with very significant differences, which also happened during the week when the room had more than 8 people, so maybe it's something to investigate.

Come on guy's, let's stop with the crappy talk, it was a rough and frustrating night for all. Lets just work on getting it resolved.
The only thing I have to comment on, is if you are pissed and want to leave, please just leave, don't sit there and tell us all about it before you go, we were all in the same boat. This was later in the night, no need to mention any name!
I will do my speed test tonight when I get home.

Scorp... You need to ping a server in California. A ping test to your home town doesn't show us how your connection is doing long distance.

I'll do mine tonight. When I create a room in the game the message says bandwidth "Very High" for me so I don't expect a surprise from my connection

I see people posting big numbers here so for those that are afraid to post because their numbers aren't so good....

Check out my Ookla Speedtest result. What's your speed? http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/1616087983

It's all hard wired but looks pretty crappy,eh?
Numbers aren't necessarily the issue. I host events all the time including last night's races for D3 without issues. So post your numbers no matter what , that way your division can solve this issue.

While not in this division, or any, the connection issues weren't limited to your division or even to GT6 last night. I was on earlier in the evening and despite a very solid connection with low ping in a wholly fibreoptic area and being hardwired I was having some grip issues and jagged movements of other vehicles. The host and others I drive with regularly are hard wired with reliable connections. I threw in the towel somewhere in the 730-8PM EST area and swapped over to the PS4. While I personally didn't experience any further issues many others reported network drops and excessive lag in a number of PS4 servers as well on multiple games.

Don't allow me to sidetrack your troubleshooting of division member connections as it is still very important to have a reliable connection and to be hardwired, but I felt it necessary to let you folks know that it wasn't just you, or just PS3.

I'm at work 'til 7. I'll try to post mine later

While I don't have any desire to host. Here are my speed tests. I am actually glad I did them. I need to talk to ISP because these are not the results I typically see.

My laptop is wi-fi but my PS3 is wired. How can I show my speed from the PS3?

Damn Alberta has horrible upload and I'm whining to my provider about 10MB/s

Actually i just called in today about the upload being a bit slow and they recently upgraded it. now I'm getting 10mbps :) In order for me to have it they had to reset my modem. i think 10 is more then enough Upload. And download all you really need is 40mbps for no issues. assuming that your not sharing the connection with too many others in the house.

I would go on the ps3 use the web access there and run this speed test. you won't be able to share it from there but then take your lap top plug in the cat5 running from your ps3 and do another speed test. that should be enough to get a good idea what your numbers are. Also keep in mind when running your speed tests. Try not run them during peek internet hrs. which is generally between 6-8pm if you do then run the test again after 10 pm and see what your getting. multiple tests are always good idea to get a really good idea. hope this helps.
