Welcome to SNAIL! The first race is always a little confusing on how SNAIL operates and one thing i like to do is give the new comers a heads up on the procedures we all go by on race night.

1. when you enter the room make sure you have the correct car for the track and proceed to the end of turn one then line up single file for qualifying. hot lapping is not allowed!
2. when qualifying starts we give the driver infront of us a 5 second headstart no one should be able to catch the driver infront of them. if a driver does catch you we all ask you dont hold them up please get off the race line let them pass and continue on once they are clear of your car
3. qualifying consist of 1 out lap and 1 qualifying lap once you finish the hot lap pull over with the rest of the group
4. if at any point in quailifying you go off track do not complete the lap please stay off the race line and pull over to the side your qualifying session is over at that point (weve all ran off a time or two)
4. at the end of the night when the scorekeeper or I ask for votes please pick a combo you would like to vote off it must be a combo you raced for the vote to count.
5. if there is any questions feel free to ask theres a few of us who have raced SNAIL for a while im sure someone can help out with any questions
6. most important have fun!

its our favorite time of the season again and this time its very short notice, does anyone want to sign up for duties?

*if anyone needs help we have a few experienced guys who can help you along the way with the duties and gaining access

Welcome to Division 5 all of our returning drivers and our newest drivers! For the benefit of our newest drivers, please review the qualifying procedures for the first race of each combo. Instructions will be typed out in the chat as the evening progresses.
Please also remember to use the utmost of caution on the first turn in each combo.
Good luck to all, and hope to see everyone tonight.

Qualifying Rules
Prior to the first race of each combo drivers must immediately drive to a spot beyond turn one where qualifying will start and line up single file. The scorekeeper must be the first driver in line. The host will remain on pit road during this time.

Once the driver count has been verified, the host will give instructions to start qualifying and leave pit road to join in at the back of the line. Drivers should give 5 seconds between the driver in front of them leaving and when they start.

Qualifying is not the race. If you get caught from behind during the qualifying session you must allow the driver to pass without incident or opposition.

All drivers will complete an out lap and one hot lap for qualifying.

If, at any time during the out lap or the hot lap, a driver leaves the racing surface for any reason, except to avoid another car on track, they are to pull completely off the track and out of the way at the earliest safe location and wait for the qualifying session to end. They are not to attempt to re-enter the track for any reason.

If a driver is caught from behind during qualifying, they must get off the racing line and allow the driver that caught them to pass without incident.

Once drivers have completed their hot lap, they are to stop on the track far enough past the start finish line as to not be a distraction to anyone finishing a lap.

Once the host has completed his hot lap, he will check that no non-members have entered (kick as necessary) and start the race.

This process can be modified for shorter tracks or to change from 5 seconds if deemed necessary.

Failure to comply with qualifying rules will result in a disqualification for that race.

Do you guys post the room ID here? Sorry, I'm still relatively new to this one.

Sorry I couldn't be there, I was at a concert last night. Looking forward to practice on Thursday though! My PSN is xMicr0zx if anyone wants to drive before then or over the weekend too. Excited to be a part. As for duties/roles, I'll need some help learning but I want to help where I can.

Your vote was counted/registered along with all of the other drivers across the other 4 divisions. The totals from all 5 divisions are then tallied to determine which combo gets eliminated, etc.

From the OLR: (Typically has answers to numerous questions)
Prizes

Our unique format allows everyone to have a say on which cars and tracks we race. At the end of every league night, we ask everyone who raced to vote on which car and track combo they enjoyed the least. The combo that receives the most "elimination votes" is dropped from the next week's lineup entirely. The combo that receives the second most votes is also dropped, but only partially. This is where our prizes play an important role in our interactive format.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up, this is gonna be my last season for a while managing and im probably gonna go part time see if snail becomes more fun for me again instead of a job. Balancing family, my job, my own arl league and snail I think I took on more than a full plate lol and lately I feel like I'm just not having as much fun as I should. Im trying to give everyone enough notice to get everything in order to hand off for the April season and if anyone needs any help with duties, any questions or needs access feel free to ask me. Thank you guys I hope everyone understand and thank you @Nick Cannella for all the help for the past 7-8 months together we did everything we could to help snail grow.

We will all miss you. Come back soon. The door is always open. :(👍

I'll be around still race part time

I am very sorry to hear that, hopefully you can come to enjoy the league more. My home life is starting to feel less crazy so unless the wife puts up a fight, I am happy to learn how to handle some duties. Are they all in the ORL? It'll be a learning curve that I'm happy to climb, whether it be replays or monitoring/hosting.

People like you help me come in as slow as a snail and enjoy it, so I thank you for being here.

The 2 earlier ones are texting and replays. With texting it's really simple you type out a message when you get the room copy all and just paste and plug in names of random players who join on sundays. How I do replays is after each race I'll save and share the replays as we race so by the time we are done with R3R2 everything is uploaded and replays are posted the hardest thing with replays is making sure you put the right search in lol example using today's date it would be 20190313d5r#r#. I'm still gonna be around and race part time and help out when I can I like the guys in snail alot theres a good group of guys here! Thank you for offering to help I know the few guys that help on a weekly basis appreciate it as much as i do

Sounds good. I'll use Thursday practice to chat and learn the texting and replay stuff then. I'll have my laptop with me

Combos for this coming Sunday night;

So, after last night, I realized how terrible I am with zero traction control. Couldn't drive the Supra to save my life. Any tips for Sunday? I was in dead last, but also think there were higher divisions with me. I'm considering reducing the 900 degree turning of my G29, as I really only use 360 degrees at most when racing.

Lastly, I understand the texting a bit more but need to learn how to quickly post text. I tried using a mic but couldn't hear anyone. Does GT Sport support microphones? I still need to learn how the replay stuff works too.

I also have the g29 all I did was tune the wheel settings a bit and found what works for me.
I've been with snail for a year next month and I cant drive the supra either hahaha for anyone not use to no TCS best advise I can give you is practice practice practice mixed with ease on to the throttle coming out of corners
Gt sport we have to use party chat bc gr sport doesnt have in game chat like the previous versions

Haha, dude, same. Except I'm using a DS4 (I can't afford a wheel yet, lol). Last week I was the last guy to finish the race, I think I was 6 to 10 seconds behind. I can't keep up. But I noticed I don't spin if I'm careful with the throttle after exiting a corner, although I'm still too slow compared to other drivers.

I spent the first 2 months finishing dead last in D3 (that's all the divisions we had at the time) it gets easier with practice and you will notice you go from struggling to keep up to fighting for wins just be patient and it will all start coming to you. Save the replays and watch them see what your doing vs what the front of the pack is doing, Also if you see some of the faster guys practicing jump in with them and ask questions. I know @SAMHAIN85 has jumped into a few rooms I created and helped out alot and answered my dumba$$ questions lol. Those are just some pointers coming from a former TCS user who jumped in with snail without ever turning TCS off before

Appreciate the words! Practice it is then. It's funny, as I'm driving, I can picture myself correcting if I could feel the tires slides, but it's all visual. Definitely an adjustment.

On the bright side, we get to race those super fun AWD Subies twice! I'm biased though, I own a WRX lol.
