@llNovall - I was tempted to enrol for the GT4 league but I’m still early into my GT7 campaign so I figured it would make more sense to update my availability here as being more likely to be able to fill in as a reserve if needed as my schedule is now levelling out some what.

Looking forward to how the new car runs in GT7

Series Update and Decisions
Well Gentlemen, GT7 has now been out for over a month and we have yet to get legitimate lobby features that we were used to. I am confident they are still on the way which affords us more time to sort our transition. Alot of attention, as of late, has been given to the Michelin series, but alot of thing have been learned in that series testing. One of them, is the 09 Porsche 911 GT3 (997) is an absolute gem to race with....especially compared to the twitchy (in GT7 anyway) 16 Porsche 911 GT3RS (991). The 997 car is very confident, fast, fun to drive, and imo even closer to the essence of the real world Porsche Cup Challenge car. I personally believe this car would present better racing and an overall closer and more confident racing experience than the 991 can provide. And, alot of the liveries from GTSport will need to be re-rendered or completely re-done for GT7. Before continueing that effort, this leads to my proposal for the balance of our current season and a build in to our next one.
For the balance of the season and in preparation for next season, I would like to change to the 09 Porsche 911 GT3 (997) at very similar specs as we had moving forward, but would like to test and get everyone's input before pulling the trigger on this.
Specs on this car would be:
502hp
2641lbs (1200kg)
(actual weight for a Cup Car.)
Priano has a very good tune for this car.
What we will need to test is how the race hard to race Medium tires differ in performance if at all from what we knew.

I will have a room open later tonight. Anyone interested in shaking them down, here is the car build and tune:

If we decide to go this direction, we will need to re-render our liveries for this car, or new ones before the season resumes. As such, new number boards will be provided, along with updated livery requirements/standards that I will announce later.

I should have a room up around 930-10pm est. Hope to see some of join in.

Alright fellas,
So far from few opinions I had during testing last night, and the fact most have already built the 16 Porsche 911 GT3RS, we will stay with that car. I'm sure we will find more tuning tricks as we go, so the consistency and confidence in the car will come. One thing we will need to do on our next test night for the Porsche is to see how much of a difference the race Medium and and race hard tires make on lap times. Anymore than 1-1.2 seconds advantage, and we may have to move to a standard tite across classes, and have a base BoP for Platinum and Gold to achieve the 1 second handicap.

Also, I will be forwarding newly updated liveries of all renderings that I have performed for the series and driver's with new livery requirements/standards. I'd ask anyone who rendered their own to make the necessary edits to their cars and forward the livery link to me when complete. A separate post tagging all drivers will be made with the updated livery standards with link for the new decals.

If I were to do some free practice, are there any particular combos you guys ran friday night or any you have in mind that I can use for testing?

I like Lago Full Course, normal direction. I'm cutting hi 1:56's on Race Hards, low to mid 1:55's so far on the race Mediums in the '16 991. I have a little more room on the race hards, but probably have a little more still on the rm's. Need the spread between the two to be less than 1.5 seconds...tops. Thanks for the help. Spec out list is linked/note din the first post.

I vote for Large "tite" over standard tite across classes. But anything more than a hand full is a waste, I have heard. LOL

Looks great! Could you please clarify “Master” class? Platinum? Platinum with RM? +25HP? -100 lb?
I'll have the success ballasting breakdown out soon. Still doing some testing to make sure there isn't more than a 1.5 spread from optimal race hard to optimal rm times to see if we can still use our seperate tire formula for handicapping.
Porsche GT3 Supercup Challenge
No ABS Master Class Rules

As for the master class idea for drivers interested in racing No ABS, the best I could entertain is as follows:
-Drivers who choose to race with ABS off (which hopefully will be able to be governed by a members list) will be scored normally with the entire field, but will also be scored within a seprate Masters Class.
-Drivers will only be eligible for the Masters Class if they are currently in the Platinum Class, and must continue to run the Race Hard Compound tires, despite not having ABS.
-Any penalties incurred during a race event will count toward both points scoring.
-Drivers must announce prior to each Event by 5pm est of Raceday if they are running ABS or No ABS and may change their status from Event to event. And, they will be required to submit a lap history with the upcoming event's conditions to verify acceptable pace (within 1 second of the known pace across the field in practice sessions) by that time. No exceptions. If confirmation and lap history is not recieved by the deadline or does not meet the pace, the driver will be ineligible for Master Class points and will be asked to use ABS for that event to maintain competitiveness against the main field.
(Exception: once a driver consistently displays capable of competitive pace without ABS, he will excused from submitting the time history)
-Events raced with No ABS will be scored toward the Masters Class standings.
-Any driver who is not fast enough to be eligible to use No ABS, and chooses to race without ABS anyway will be disqualified from scoring points for that event.
-This series relies on parity, and while ABS OFF will be an option, parity will remain the number one priority.
-Any driver who has success ballast and is eligible to race with No ABS and scores outside the top 8 will not recieve any concession.
-Drivers who plan to race in the Masters Class must have have 2 liveries rendered: one in normal form. The other with an "M" displayed next to the Drivers number on the rear, and on the front fender. Examples will be provided later.
-Once a confirmation and lap history is submitted by the deadline for the next event, I will reply by 8pm est if you are eligible to run No ABS for the event. At that time, outfit you car with appropriate livery.

This post will be edited into the first post.

RACE NIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
16 player Party Chat Policy

We will use the Party Chat feature at the opening of the Race Room with the following Rules:

1.) It is encouraged, but not required that drivers enter the Open party chat to help in the flow of communication to start the night. (Especially drivers new to the series)
2.) Open Conversation is allowed at the opening of the Race Room to the official start of Qualifying, approximately 9:30pm est. ALL MICs MUST BE MUTED AT THIS TIME, thru Qualifying, and Race 1 (Host will remind all drivers to please mute mics before the call to start qualifying)
3.) Once the race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume un-muted conversation up to the call to mute mics before the next race.
4.) After the final race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume party conversations.

Be reminded that no discussions regarding on track incidents are to be discussed, except obviously, if it is simply an apology and no more. Please review the penalty guidelines for more detail on this policy.

And Lastly,

Please don't be that guy who has their mic on the whole race (If your headphones do not have a mute feature, simply leave the party chat before the Qualifying Session begins**
Points
Platinum and Gold Level drivers will be scored together under one standing.
  • 1st = 16 points
  • 2nd = 15 points
  • 3rd = 14 points
  • 4th = 13 points
  • 5th = 12 points
  • 6th = 11 points
  • 7th = 10 points
  • 8th = 9 points
  • 9th = 8 points
  • 10th = 7points
  • 11th = 6 points
  • 12th = 5 points
  • 13th = 4 points
  • 14th = 3 points
  • 15th = 2 points
  • 16th = 1 point

*No bonus points for pole or fast laps

Scorekeeping and awarding of points
Race 1: will recieve up to 16 points for a 1st place finish on down as shown above;
Race 2: will recieve up to 16 points for 1st place finish on down as shown above.
Points from both races will be totaled to reflect total points earned for the event.
Perfect night will total 32 points.

Points Tie Breaking Policy follows same policy as Snail League shown below:
In the event of a tie at the end of a race night, the driver with the highest single race finish will be awarded the tie breaker. If both driver have the same best finish, use the second best finish. 2 wins would beat 1 win and 1 2nd place finish or 1 win and one 2nd place finish would beat 1 win and 1 3rd place finish. The driver who wins the tie breaker will be awarded .1 point on the score sheet only for the purpose of breaking the tie for that night. The .1 point will not count toward the season championship.
Driver Classifications
Different Tire compounds for each driver classification will be used to help equalize the pace of the driver talent levels.
Platinum Drivers:
-Upper 1/2 of Snail Driver's List or known pace from Season 1
-will use Racing Hard (RH) Tires
-BLACK painted mirrors and Spoiler winglets, and black Cup Challenge numberplate with white numbers

Gold Drivers:
-Lower 1/2 of Snail Driver's List or known pace from Season 1.
-will use Racing Medium (RM) Tires
-YELLOW painted mirrors and Spoiler Winglets,
and yellow Cup Challenge numberplates with black numbers
-Gold Classed driver pace on Race Medium tires should nearly match the Platinum Classed drivers field

What if the Snail Driver's List is an odd number of Divisions during driver placement/season start?
*Recently archived and current race data from the Snail Sunday night series will be used toward placement of active Split Division Snail drivers.
**New/Ex Snail drivers with limited or old data, and New NON-Snails will be required to run a control time trial for placement.

Drivers who are initially Classed as Platinum at the Season start will be reviewed in the first 2 events attended. If found to be struggling and/or are significantly off pace (more than 1 second/lap consistently), the Series Director will relegate the driver to the Gold Class)
New for Season 2 and evolved further for Season 3, will be a Success Ballast feature on top of the initial Platinum/Gold Driver Classing.
Details outlined below:

Platinum Driver Class Success Ballast Ladder
(+60kg/132lbs weight ADD Maximum under formula below, then +15kg/33lbs for every podium thereafter)
1st Place Overall for Event = +45kg/99lbs weight ADD
2nd Place Overall for Event = +30kg/66lbs weight ADD
3rd Place Overall for Event = +15kg/33lbs weight ADD

-15kg/-33lbs weight Removed
(For any event finish outside the top 8 for drivers with added ballast)
If a Platinum Class Driver manages continued success after the 60kg/132lbs weight maximum has been earned and applied, an additonal +15kg/33 lbs will be added up to the 200kg/440lbs ballast adjustment maximum.

Gold Driver Class Success Ballast Ladder
(Weight ADD Maximum, approx 60kg/132lbs)
1st Place Overall for Event = +45kg/99lbs weight ADD
2nd Place Overall for Event = +30kg/66lbs weight ADD
3rd Place Overall for Event = +15kg/33lbs weight ADD

Once a Gold Driver has incurred ballast due to a successful result, that ballast is owned and will not be removed until the driver is promoted to the Platinum Class...You earned it, you own it.
If a Gold Class Driver manages a podium finish after the 60kg/132lbs weight ballast maximum has been earned and applied, the Driver will be promoted and graduate to the Platinum Class at base specs and required to use the Racing Hard tire compound for remaining events.
(Once a Gold Class driver is promoted to the Platinum Driver Class through their performance and success, they will stay there for the remainder of the season)

Drivers who are absent or do not complete both races of an event entered will not receive any reduction in accrued ballast
Drivers Returning for Season 3 will begin the season at the same Driver Classing they finished for Season 2, and all drivers will be cleared of any ballast accrued from Season 2.
Drivers List

Driver List Priority
Once a 10 month season starts, the Drivers list will be set in "priority order" based on sign up date.
*The series will field drivers as follows:
-16 Priority Drivers (list will be adjusted monthly based on driver activity)
- An open number of Reserve Driver slots will be available and will be listed in no priority order.
*Any Priority Driver who misses 3 consecutive races will be placed on the reserve list.
* As a courtesy, all drivers will be asked to post their absence before 5pm est on the Thursday before race night to allow Reserve Drivers time to be ready. (See Absentee and Reporting Policy Tab)

Penalty Process

Drivers may file incidents after the last race on Friday race night to Monday at 8pm est of the same weekend.

Penalty filing instructions

-Submit your incident(s) by filing via pm to the Chief Steward, all supporting stewards, and the offending driver by including the information listed below.
List of Stewards and Volunteers
II-NOVA-II (Chief Steward)
Rob Brown (Steward)
Bologna_Duc (Steward)
TEX36 (Steward)

Incident filing PM's must include the following in this order for each incident to be accepted:
*Tag: 4 Stewards and Driver you are filing against
*Conversation Title: "Your PSN ID": IR filed against "PSN ID of driver you are filing on"
*Include the following information in the report:

-PSN name of the driver being filed against
-Your PSN name
-Race Number the incident occurred (Race 1 or 2)
-the lap number that the incident occurred
-the time the incident occurred (Use time posted in the middle of the screen)
-description of the incident being filed

(Multiple offenses filed on the same driver may be included in the same group PM)

The offending driver may plead his/her side within the group pm by 8pm est Monday, 10 days after the night Raced.

After the 1 week rebuttle period has ended,(Monday 8pm of Race weekend to the following Monday at 8pm) the Chief Steward and/or any support stewards will review all incidents filed and submit a ruling in the respective incident group pm by 6pm Friday of the next race event.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD AN INCIDENT BE FILED OR DISCUSSED IN THE MAIN THREAD, IN RACE, OR THE INGAME LOBBY. IF THIS OCCURS, A MANDATORY UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT PENALTY OF UP TO 50 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SEASON'S TOTAL, AND A 2 WEEK SUSPENSION FROM THE SERIES AT THE STEWARD's DECISION AND DISCRETION

No Self Reported Incident Reports will be reviewed. It is up to each one of us racers to hold each other accountable for on track performance. If you feel strong enough that an incident should be filed on an offending driver, I encourage all drivers to do so at their discretion.

The Stewards will be utilizing the penalty guidelines set up and used within the Snail Spec Racing Series. Follow the link below for:
Penalty judging Guidlines
All Stewards are to review a replay of an incident in question and reply to the PM with their opinion as to what "Level" the incident falls under, and a recommended point value within selected level to deduct. Penalty Points may be halted if sufficient on track concession was shown, however, no penalties will be halved for self report.
Again, Self Reported incidents will not be reviewed
*The Chief Steward will make a final review of all incidents filed, taking into account any rebuttals and the other Steward's grading of the incidents and will make a final ruling for issuing penalty points.

*Please Note: If the Chief Steward deems, in any way, the lead driver lost control, and the chase driver attempts to brake or evade, but still makes contact, no penalty may be issued at the Chief Steward's discretion. *

At a 10 week season's end, the results sheet will be reviewed for each driver. All repeat offenders of the rules of this league will be reviewed by the Chief Steward and Steward Corp on a severity and case by case basis. If the review reflects a consistency or lack of improvement, the Chief Steward may recommend removal from the series by a peer to peer judgement .

Penalty points will be shown in the Overall Season Standings Scoresheet and will be deducted from the event score it was recieved and from following event scores until cleared.

I should be able to stay up (or wake back up) for it if there a reserve is needed. Unlikely I will stay for the long race but we’ll see how we go.

What a long list of stuff needed to render liveries. I am an expert now after getting this all done. However, I see I still need yellow brake calipers. I'll fix that tonight. Thanks for all the directions Boss!

I know it is a pretty extensive and detailed list, but the uniformity and attention to detail looks so good and is so worth it when the replays are run back. Thanks for the extra efforts sir.👍
