Of course no one said that. You don't understand what GT is. Just because you like drag racing, doesn't mean it should be in GT.

According to current information. Drag racing WILL NOT BE IN GT4. Nor should it.

How many times to I have to say it?

This just shows you aren't reading what anyone is saying. I said I DON'T like drag racing, but I wouldn't object to it being in GT4. I'm not even going to bother anymore, you have your mind made up that you will reject whatever anyone has to say, and use your tried line of "It's not what GT is." IT'S A GAME. I'm not going to bother posting in this thread anymore with ignorant minds... :banghead:

Can't stand the heat? Get out of the kitchen.

Viper Zero....are you an idiot? Just wodering because there is no info saying that drag racing or rm will not be in the game. Not one person from PD has said anything about it. How i would know this you ask your self. I looked a ign.com. And Majarvis has a very good point....why put muscle cars in the game(which were made to drag race) if you can't DRAG RACE THEM! Gran Turismo doesn't have to be just about touring cars...Maybe you should do some research and stop being a ignorant prick.

P.S. Who said anything about trucks being in GT...sigh

And there is no information to prove drag racing is in.

Can we get this man a Car & Driver mag or what? Muscle cars were not designed to drag race. The term "Muscle Car" refers to big block American cars in the 60's and 70's. Yes, muscle cars do drag. So do Honda Civics and Integras. Were they designed to drag race? No.

You sir, are confused with the term Muscle Car.

P.S. Who said anything about trucks being in GT...sigh [/B]

If you were around when GT2 came out, a lot of uninformed people wanted trucks and SUVs in GT. Once again, they have no place in GT.

Thank you, illegal. I like yours too. Skylines rock. :)

Yes, I was around when gt2 came out, and I do remember when people want trucks and SUVs. I do agree with you that nither of the 2 should be in the game. And I also agree with you that is no info on if drag racing or rm will be in...so why are you argueing with everyone about it when NO ONE knows if either will be in.

Pertaining to the original topic, according to current information, GT4 will not have drag racing, trucks, or body kits.

Take it or leave it.

If GT 4 does come out with drag racing and you don't like it then don't drag race in the game. Thats all their is to it. Don't try telling me its stupid just because you don't like it. And don't say their won't be drag racing just because they haven't said that their would be drag racing. And if you get pissed when you see people asking about drag racing then don't click on a thread with the word drag racing in it.

Can I get an AMEN! Viper boy the chevy SSR is in the game and thats a truck so like it or dont buy the game. Unless you work for polyphony digital I dont wanna hear anymore "thats not what GT is about." Because it IS what GT is all about. GT2 was supposed to have drag racing but got left out due to time constraints. Therefore Polyphony Digital, the people who make the game mind you, believe drag racing IS what GT is all about. So be a good boy now and stop whining. :trouble:

Brandono, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Could you explain yourself better? I never said I disliked drag racing. Though, it has no place in GT.

I'm not sure what you're talking about either, agentlongwood. The Chevy SSR is a truck, but one designed to be raced. People who want trucks in GT want Navigators, F-150, and Siverados, etc. Those trucks were not designed to race. The SSR seems like a prize car. Not meant to compete in races, but just something to have fun driving in. It's almost a joke.

I suppose if GT2 didn't get drag racing, then GT3 must have it. Oh... wait, it doesn't.

But but but. All Im hearing is Waaah I own a civic in real life and cant drag race, :( and if I cant I dont want anyone else to either. Like I said it's up to PD to decide not you so stop raining on everyone else's parade. And I thought I told you I didnt want to hear anymore whining out of you. :trouble:

Thats it! I'm pissed at the lot of you!
Heres what the deal is!

Drag Racing: Fun? Yes. GT-quality? No. It was supposed to be in GT2, but was taken out. Based on current news there is no drag racing in GT4.

Body Kits, racing modification: in GT 1 and 2 yet not confirmed in GT4. Racing mods are not rice. Body kits are rice. These have not been confimed in GT4.

That is the current truth. ;)

the trucks can do off-road racing

Haven't I been saying that since my first post?

I now know why most users stay out of the GT forums. The immaturity makes my head hurt.

GT3 was really a test to understand the limits of the PS2... maybe thats why there's no drag racing. You can't expect PD to come out with a huge game w/ tons of stuff in it on a new console system or it will be full of errors.

Would it make you play more? Yes.
Do you think it would make GT more challenging? In a way, yes.
Or, do you find playing GT like it's supposed to be to hard for you and all you want to do is race in a straight line? For those like me who have finished the game, it is something else to do.
The immaturity makes my head hurt. Well then stop repeating 'bla bla does not belong in Gran Turismo'. We heard you the first time...
You are in a sence saying that even rally driving does not belong in Gran Turismo. Or drifting. Or hybriding. Or maybe even on-line racing. But face it. People do do these things. Everyone has their own tastes.

Believe it or not drag racing is not "getting a fast car and racing in a straight line". It involves playing with many different things such as Spring Rate, Dampers, Gear Ratios, Downforce, VCD and more.
To get a good time in the 1/4 Mile you have to be able to tune the car up to reduce wheelspin and to make the car good at accellerating among other things.

It's not just point and accellerate as you think it is.
All i want in the game is a 1/4 Mile strip (proper one). I don't want these great big 5000hp funny cars or dragsters. Just normal cars that you'd be likely to see driving round.

I respect your opinion because you are entitled to it, but you don't need to keep mentioning it in every post you make.

I think one of the main reasons why there is no drag racing in GT3 is because Polyphony kept asking Sony for more time...

Very good points, getting good 1/4 times is a good indication that you are getting to most out of the car. But will settings for good 1/4-mile times hurt you on the turns? I would think so, but good none the less. It would be nice to have a skid pad while we are at it. I think that would really make setting up a car easier. So drag racing and the skid pad would be more of a lesson in tuning than a lesson in driving. Well I've changed my mind on Drag racing now that I see it from this angle.

And why would they include new rims!? this was purely cosmetic and it makes your car unique to you. And if you want drag racing then check out Need for speed 7 : Underground, thats basically the Fast and the Furious game

And maybe they will have an option in the Machine Test section to measure 0-60 times, and 0-60-0 times?

You've obviously never known/seen serious drag racing. It's all about tuning. We could have the same settings except one notch on gears or something and I might win by 1/100th of a second. It's all about tuning and knowing your powerband.

Exactly, that's why it would be fun, especially for online racing, someone would be shaking their head at you when you drive off in your car, and they're still spinning their tires in 1st :O

Glad to see you decided to come back Majarvis... it's nice to have your opinion... especially since you support drag racing.

I would really like to see drag racing in online play. I also like the idea of 0-60, 60-0 times.

Thanks, when more support showed up in here, and I didn't feel like I was talking to a wall, I felt I might as well come back in. And yeah, being able to at least measure your cars 0-60 times would be great, even being able to measure how many G's you can pull on a skidpad, and your 0-60-0 braking abilities would be great too. Kind of like having a proving ground facility.
