Crackles, pops or whatever you want to call it doesn't mean it's gonna throw flames at the back. Just saying.

What is everyone talking about snap, crackle and pop? Is everyone talking about this:

Its a bug 100% clear example is porsche 911 rsr and all other gt3 cars except mclaren 650s gt3 .they all had big flames poppin out when downshifting and now they don't!
Audi r18 hybrid have flames coming beneath the car and stuff looks terrible...gt500 cars on base ps4 have also big flames but on ps4 pro on 4k tv nothing....so yes its a terrible bug and ruins immersion for us chase cam users!

Dont care it was and is awsome so i want it back. It makes the cars a bit more alive in the GAME ;)

Exhaust flames! O wait...... Where are they?!

Dear people.

Today i was testing the graphics modes in GT Sport. I have a 4k HDR tv so thats what i play with since release. But then after a update my exhaust flames where gone only the Gr3 Mclaren showt them.

I set the Playstation 4 in 1080p resolution and booted the game. First some laps in the quality mode. Just normal GT but less resolution.

Then i put the game in fps mode. Motion blur...... And freaking EXHAUST flames! My GT3 RSR is shooting flames again! Dont now if this was known yet but then its now. So i will trie this mode for a while because i love flames! Back to 1080p then till PS5 is here ;)

I've been debating putting the game into performance mode just for smooth & ultra-responsive gameplay reasons. This new info may make me make the jump, at least until it's fixed.

Only problem for me is that 1080p performance mode is allot less sharp and missing details and has a seen trough splitter soooooo i dont like that...

I know that but why on earth would anyone set back their 4k hdr tv just to have flames...
The flames were there before update screwed them even on 4K so they have to fix that and also add flames on powerful street cars!

It seems supersampling mode also turns off the backfires. When you turn it off it comes back but backfires do not happen when its set on quality when its on framerate the backfire appears.

It seems to be a bug to be honest. Backfires work on framerate but not on quality.

It should have been fixed long ago.

Technically if an engine is tuned correctly, backfire shouldn’t occur. So maybe PD just properly retuned all cars, eliminating backfires?

But probably just a graphics bug. They probably know about it, but who knows if they’re working on fixing it or not, only time will tell.

I was messing with the replay cameras and noticed if you select the variable camera view the flames are there but in standard they are not. Could just be me though.

Hey guys, it's been a while since this thread was started but I just wanted to confirm something. To get backfires I would need to:

1. Switch from 4K to 1080p in PS4 settings.
2. Put game in fps mode.
3. Turn off supersampling.

I just picked up a 4k tv today and I want to test this out. Thanks in advance.
