Well, this thread doesn't seem too relevant now, is it? OP asks if Vettel can win, he did, question solved.

@above = Hilarious!

:D thanks
I have my moments :D

I think Vettel can win a race this year. I'm not sure why...but I think he can!

Haha!

The new question: can Riakkonen win a race in 2012? :sly: he almost did today and was very disappointed due to the mistake that cost him.

No unless they hire someone named Riakkonen to race in F1... who is Riakkonen by the way???:D

Can Karthikeyan win a race? :sly:

If it is a race to the stewards... perhaps but I wouldnt bet on it.

Lotus messed up the qualifiers. If they hadn't fudged Kimi's chances in qualifying yet again, he could have won the race.

He was faster than Vettel at most points of the race. Vettel only equalized in the final stint by running the car nearly dry of fuel.

Remember... Kimi came up to second from eleventh. That Lotus was obviously the car of the race... much like the Sauber was the car of the race in the rain, despite losing out to Fernando Alonso.

It's not what I heard actually, I've read that Kimi choosed to not run in Q2 to have all new tyres for the race, it was actually a strategy to try and go to the top, which worked pretty good. Every set of new tyres he had made him gain 8 sec on other car driving with the same tyre component but used, at least that's what I heard and it's an explanation on how he was able to have such a fast pace.

This thread obviously helped Vettel win, should change the title to Can Hamilton win

Humble suggestion... Title change to "Can Vettel win the Championship in 2012?"

Thought about that one too Niky...but we don't want to jinx others and allow Vettel another win :sly:

In the press conference Vettel made a funny comment about Kimi magically finding new tyres from the local Pirelli dealer. :sly:

I've renamed the thread guys. So, a new topic has been born!

No he can't and if anyone wants to take up the bet with me, I'll give them a prize if they beat me.

Whats the prize? And whats the price for losing?

I say you change it to "So, can Vettel win all of the rest of the races in 2012, win the championship, and single-handedly resolve the Bahrain GP controversy before 2013?"

Can he? Possibly, depends how quickly McLaren can fix their pit problems. Lotus look pretty strong too, but they could always flop later on like they did last year. Mercedes might be there or there abouts too. Not seeing Ferrari make it.

Now Ferrari will sweep the rest of the season, and Massa will be champion. >_>

Do I want him to? God no. He's had his time now, we don't want another Schumacher era thank you.

Yes, we do.

I think he could win the championship still. It all has to do with how far Red Bull can keep going.

I've said it before I have a reason I don't want Vettel or anyone else for that matter to win the championship and is has everything to do with my PSN id name.

:sly: Hamilton......

In the MP427 if he doesn't then my PSN means nothing to me!!! Yes quite dramatic especially when many GT players and even F1 players don't care.

I'm not much of a Hamilton fan. :p

It happens, can't win them all. I'm a Button/Hamilton fan before either came to McLaren but since only one can win the WDC I went for Lewis.

Well Haitch I'm a nice guy, I'll give you a GTP premium and possibly a Vettel bobble head.

Need to stop supporting Hamilton, Button and the saubers
Go vettel :D.

I think if the team get their act together he has a chance but it will be a close season unlike last year.

Considering how unpredictable the season has been so far I can't really make an estimate even.

I don't want him to, it's not that I don't respect him as a driver. But I just prefer the Mclaren boys (either one is fine).

Red Bull has given him a crap car this year. If he gets a good car again then he will run away with it.

Crap car? first in the constructors and first in the drivers championship? what does that make of the other 11 cars on the Grid?
