So...how's the 360

I haven't heard much about the 360 since there was barely any hype for it. So I was just wondering what the system is like(graphics, games, controllers, cables? whatever)
Actual opinions would be nice. Thanks.

Everything is really great. The GFX in PGR3, PDZ, Kameo, CoD2 are awesome. Too bad most of the other games are ports. Although, they do look better on the 360. I've been playing quite a few games, and they're all good.

Another great thing is Xbox live arcade. Hexic really is a damn good game. So far there are over 10 games available for download on XBL Arcarde. This is only the begining.

The controllers are badass...I have a wired and a wireless and I have absolutely no complaints. The battery life is awesome and you can check the fuel level by hitting the guide botton (big X on controller). I was playing PGR3 and had to take a piss (do not attempt) and ran like hell with controller in hand and headset plugged in and still was able to communicate with the lobby while I was in the bathroom (lol). Quite a lengthy hallway too.

Cables? Well, the premium I bought had the hi def cables which are awesome, you can use them for SDTV or HDTV. So when I took it out of town with me I didnt need to buy new cables.

Playing music in games has never been better. Every game now supports custom sound tracks. I have a router and the 360 connects to windows and it can stream music and pictures. so instead of having to rip 4,000 songs to my HDD its just all there for me already...no hassle. It also reads ID tags and you can lookup tracks by genre, album, artist or song title. You can also make playlists on your PC and load them on the 360.

The faceplates are a cool feature. I never really liked the blue one I bought until I saw someone post of pic of theirs. I like the look over the original and will probably buy some more. I have my fingers crossed for the PGR3 faceplate...
You should consider buying one [Xbox 360] sometime, XBL and the new dashboard are amazing.

Happy gaming

It's junk. It overheats, scratches game discs, freezes up, the wireless controller eats batteries, the games do not look any better than the o.g xbox', and some consoles have gotten so hot, that they started on fire!!

Wait.. That's what the Playstation nerds will tell you.

The system itself is gorgeous. The X-interface or "dashboard" is well done and pretty simple, the controller is a lot better, but the games available right now are.. ok. I read somewhere that the launch titles are only using 30% of the systems power. Taking that into consideration, things look stunning and the sound is better than anything we have ever heard. The only downside I can think of is, it's noisy. Really, really noisy.

The games.. Well, most of the games are not as fun as everyone hypes them up to be. Visually they are not as good as you would expect, (30% power) and the fun factor just didn't last very long for me. I don't know if that's because I'm getting old, or if the games are just not that good. Probably both. Gears of War - Splinter Cell DA - Ghost Recon - Test Drive Unlimited - MotoGP - and a few other games due out early next year, should really show the potential of this system.

Edit: A couple more things - You cannot rip music to the HD, and the USB ports are read only. Which means no taking pictures and saving them onto a flash drive. One thing the system does well, is its ability to read almost any burned dvd / cd media. Of course I mean to say, "backup copies of original content which you already own."

I was about to knock you out then. :D

Yeah, the system is great!

The Marketplace online is a great idea. You can download game demos and try them out before you spend money on the full game. I've done that already and glad I did, as some of the games I wasn't keen on. The arcade games you can download are great. (apart you have to uses some "Microsoft Points" to purchase them, which does cost money out of your pocket. Shame.). You can play the trial version of the arcade games before you decide to buy them though, just like the demos.

XBox Live itself is great! I've never been online on the old Xbox before (or any console as a matter of fact), and it raised above my expectations. The racers in Project Gotham Racing 3 are now becoming a challenge for me, and makes me better and harder to beat each time I race. I tried Perfect Dark Zero online once too, and surprisingly I was pretty good for once (I SUCK at UT on PC :()!

Talking about games, they are simply awesome! The graphics are great, and the sound has been largely improved. I'm not playing it on Hi-Def yet but here is a vast difference even on a 32 inch normal widescreen TV compared to the Xbox. The lightening in PGR3 is brilliant, the reflections on the windscreen and the lightening on the dashboard all makes it very realistic. PDZ in some ways looks even better than PGR3. The explosions and such are brilliant and the detail on enviornments leave any other consoles way behind. Fingers crossed, my Call Of Duty 2 will come today (should have come a few days ago) and I will be able to play that stunning looking game.

I'd highly recommend it, even though there have been some niggles with relaibility (even mine has had a few problems recently, now we know to get rid of it :)).

You know you can get a good Sharp HiDef TV with HDMI support for about £700 now G.T.

We are getting a good TFT moniter instead. I don't know the details, but is a highly recommended Dell Widescreen 20 inch TFT for £500. We are holding back on it at the moment as Dell are lowering prices of alot of screens, but not that one. :grumpy: The larger 24 inch one (that is a bit out of our price range, £700) has been cut from £900, hopefully the 20 inch will be cut too.

I'm VERY lucky to have this money in fact. If I never, I would be stuck with that 32 inch for ever.

The one that costs £700 is 32inch, and it is one of the best value for money ones. After good reviews on dabs, from people who brought it.

Yeah, well, there is the room issue too. We can't really fit a 32 inch TV in my Dad's office, so the Dell moniter is convenient.

But then again a 20 inch TFT would be a pain to play split screen multiplayer on G.T.

And I'm probably never going to do that.

Look, I'm happy with this screen, been recommended in a 360 magazine and other places on the web so I'm happy with it. :)

My status for a 360 has changed from awaiting stock to order placed. Does anyone know what this might mean.

system's awesome. Accessibility through live is incredible and the games made for the 360 are very nice. The ports are crap, but that's just 'cause they're ports.

I have had zer0 problems with the system.

A funny little tho... at work, we were about 50 to purchase the 360 and we basically all played the same amount of hours... and most of use were racing that night... when all our controllers lost power due to Battery usage. LOL

Basically in the same 30 mins... (roughtly 40+ hours of gameplay). Aside from that, i'm glad i didn't post mine on Ebay ;)

I may of tracked down a 360 yay. Hope good news comes through later, where I found it.

Someone posted yesterday morning on another forum a link to a Canadian website with 35 Xbox360's in stock. By nightfall it was over already.

LaBounti really is a scrooge. The system is great, I love it. The graphics are awesome even right now, and they will only get better. Xbox Live is so ridiculously easy to use, it makes online play that much better. The wireless controller is very good, much better than the old Xbox controllers which I wasn't too big of a fan of. I don't know what there is bad to point out. I have no had no freezing/crashing of any sorts with my system, it's been perfect since day one. I have no complaints about it, and like someone already said, I'm glad I didn't put mine on Ebay. ;)

It's a great system, and the only fault as of now are the games. I don't own a 360 for the same reason I don't own a PSP, there are no games that entice me to buy it.

PGR3 is fun, but after having played it at my friends house, it's too short, online is a plus, but I've got Burnout Revenge, which even though is not as pretty, is significantly more fun.

COD2 = PC

PC = Better.

Fifa...well...I'll give it credit for being a good soccer game, but the name of the game is fun, and we all know...Mario Strikers > Fifa (I'm really being serious, Mario Strikers is an awesome game).

When Forza 2 is announced/released I'll go hunt for a 360, but by that time they won't be hard to find, lol.

I prefer CoD2 on 360 over PC. I can run it well on my PC but not @ 60fps and high res. Plus, I'd rather play on my 55" than a smaller 19"

That's fine, that's you not me.

My PC runs it BETTER than the 360, at a higher res, smoother play, and the online runs just as good, if not better. Plus the control is tighter on the PC. Hence, I have no reason to play it on the 360.

Must be a hell of a PC...

And probably slightly more expensive than a console.

That's one thing I can never seem to get across to people in ye olde "PC vs Console" debate. Consoles are, overall, FAR cheaper than PCs for playing games. While it's true that individual upgrades for a PC are cheaper, so the cost is more spread out over time rather than one big lump sum, you'll wind up spending a HELL of a lot more money on a PC over the course of five or six years than you did on that one console purchase.
