So...how's the 360

Oh man, no kidding. I bought my vid card for $400 and then I wanted an 8x AGP board and more ram...soon enough I was looking at ~$700 and now its totally out of date. Hence the 6 month generations for PC. :(
 
My computer was the absolute balls two years ago. Now, it's still pretty fast (well, really fast) but it sucks that I can't run every game on the highest settings :lol:. I used to love doing that, just getting any game and automatically maxing the settings... it felt good :D.

Then again, my computer cost more than 10x as much as an Xbox 360. Not including my monitor, which also costs more than an Xbox 360. :indiff:

Having such heavy requirements on processing power, my computer is very powerful, but it was first for college, second for games, that was just a bonus.

When Forza 2 is announced/released I'll go hunt for a 360, but by that time they won't be hard to find, lol.

Haha, no kidding.
I went by the local Best Buy last night on the way home from dinner at about 7 and about 20-30 people already in line for the 20 or so they had available.
I liked the first 2 PGR games but I can wait, Forza 2 will prompt me to go get the 360, Maybe the new motogp game...

Oh dear, from my experiences with Amazon they are appaling when it comes to dispatching goods which are not in stock. Hell its often a 50/50 chance with instock items. I remembering ordering a GT3 wheel from them which I think was instock 3/4 days...waited 2 weeks nothing...finally an email 'blah...blah not in stock...getting some in 2 weeks....another 2 weeks pass....we will no longer be getting this item...thanks a lot Amazon for wasting a month!

Pre-ordered Sega GT online, got it 2 weeks after release. Only reason I didn't cancel was because it was only 20 quid or something whereas elsewhere charged £28.

I do give them some credit though, they credited my card £1 when the Red Dwarf DVD I bought a month before had been reduced in price by a £1. :D
 
Going into Town later, to check if they have any 360's. I be also checking on Tuesday and Wednesday folks. I will even settle for a Core if I do not see a Premium pack in Town.
 
Your only gonna be wasting your time, even if it is in stock id wait for the next batch/2nd lot to come in and it run better than first batch.

Your just desperate now...which is quite sad..
 
A lot of people talk like every 360 that has come out already is defective. That is a negative. It is a very small fraction of the systems that have problems. If he did get one, I'm sure it'd be fine.
 
You never know, I heard from a good source. Dixons and Comets get extra stock every Tuesday and Thursday GT_Fan.
 
There will still be preorderes waiting to be fulfilled, and if they do get stock you gotta be there when they open so if they arent on pre order you get one.

I'm not playing it on Hi-Def yet but here is a vast difference even on a 32 inch normal widescreen TV compared to the Xbox.

I am thinking about renting the xbox360 so I can actually see the full potential of my new HDTV. It was a little over $600 and GT4 is friggin amazing in 1080i. So are most of the xbox360 games in 1080i?????? If you have the xbox360 and dont have HDTV I would imagine you are missing out on and incredible game experience if it is anywhere near as good as GT4 in 1080i HDTV.

I bought my HDTV for GT4 myself. As a matter of fact, I played PGR3 last night in 480i/480p/1080i and 1080i looks much better. I didnt think it would look that much better, but damn theres a difference. GT4 looked nice in 1080i but PGR3 has much more details to be seen in hi def. It makes a bigger difference and I'm happy with my purchase now. Back in Jan. when I dropped $2k for it I was excited to see GT4 in 1080i....but I was disappointed. Now, it's totally worth it.
 
Thats a little how I feel right now. Currenty I have only been able to experience 1 game in 1080i. Many xbox games are in 480p and look soo much better on the new hdtv but I can only imagine what the new systems would bring on our tv's. Cant wait to see more. I just cant wait until HDTV movies come out to make it even more worth the price of HDTV. Glad to hear your enjoying the xbox360. 👍
What some people dont realize is that EVERY new system that comes out has defects so I completely ignore those people that complain about that. Heck even my first 2 PS2's didnt work when I got them. However I got the 3rd one and I still have it to this day. If I had been close minded and said PS2 sucks then I would have missed out on a lot of fun games over all these years. I know eventually I will probably own the Xbox360 and the PS3 but not for a while.
 
Comets were still out of stock grrrr, so I,m not going up on Wednesday. Because Dixons said there getting 3 360's in this week, but there for pre-orders.

Plus my Mum is going back into Town on Friday so she can asked Game, Argos and Woolworths.

What would be funny (and sad) is if you went through all this trouble, and get one, only to find it would be a defect.

I'm sure the 360 is great, I'll probably get one when the price drops some and some good games come out. But I don't know if it's worth all your trouble.
 
I can however wait till mid Jan 06 at the lastest. Some people on some other forums say Play.com will get one more batch of Stock for Dec 05 folks.

The only problem is the graphics, i thought the 360 would be capable of more than this :dopey:
 
Played PDZ yesterday, not a bad little game, didnt spend much time on it though (i was with a girl) so didnt get a deep look but the graphics are nice.

What? Are you telling me Gauntlet is out for xbox360 too???? Or did I read that wrong?? If you are talking about Gauntlet Seven sorrows I have beat that twice now. The first time was with my GF. The second time was with my GF, brother, and sister this weekend. Then we started playing Gauntlet dark legacy. Good times.

Gauntlet as in the original arcade version, it's great fun playing it online.

Have you ever played Gauntlet Dark Legacy??? That game has been out for years and it never ever gets old if you have a few friends or family members that will play with you. The xbox version is way better than the PS2 version.
