So I'm either buying the Thrustmaster T500 or the Fanatec GT2 - but which one?

FWIW, there is a PDF chart available for download at their site showing the differences/similarities between the wheels and pedals(?). They should make this file DL more pominent to help customers decide what wheel would work best for them.



edit...ok, it is at the bottom of the product page on each wheel. click on "feature comparison" and it will bring up the pdf. this info is very helpful. maybe it would be better suited if the link was also clearly marked on the HOME page for reading (at least it is not on my U.S. HOME page)?

Looked at the file and probably even more confused than before, the pedal section makes the Standard pedals look better than the clubsports :s

Must just be me. I need: This one is best, this ones the middle one, this ones the cheapskate.

I have the GT2 wheel and I am so disappointed, the mounting mechanism is the worst I ever seen, it doesn´t hold to the table at all and it feels very sluggish. I have also got the 888 message of death on the lcd display when connecting it to the PC.

I also had some difficulty with the mounting mechanism. What I did was attach the wheel to my wheelstandpro using two screws in the rear of the wheel and the mounting mechanism in front. It is so solid that I have decided to cancel my Rennsport wheel stand order and instead get some clubsport pedals.

Hey Zero, can you tell me what model of the wheelstand pro you have? I have the G25 wheelstand pro and I'd like to go to the GT2 and still use the wheelstand.

I have the wheelstandpro for the Driving Force GT. I am very pleased that it works perfectly for the GT2. I used two 6mm X 20mm screws for attaching the wheelstandpro mounting plate to the GT2.

Does anyone even know a site where you can order the T500 wheel in the us? The only site ive seen it on is uk amazon. No us sites as of yet, and its the evening of the 4th as I type this. What gives?

I noticed this as well highlife. Newegg.com, Amazon.com and Fry's do not mention it at all. I'm really skeptical that the T500 will be seen this week at all.

I broke down anyways and ordered a GT2 with Clubsport pedals seperate tonight. After seeing the reviews for the CSP I had to give in, and Fanatec mentioned that this would ship right away. It was only $449 and I'm in Canada so ordering the T500 would set me up over $700 CDN most likely -_-

Yeah, I think the t500 might be delayed a week. So what the heck, you got the gt2? I havent read up much about it. The thing that had me sold on the t500 was simracing mentioned its force fb strength was comparable to the really high end wheels.
Got any good youtube links on the gt2? I might check it out.

I looked at inside sim racing's reviews of the GT2 and the clubsport pedals and the review for the pedal was really shining. Then the GT2 itself has a belt drive which is supposed to be nice and it also has instant settings adjust as well as 360 support which is really nice for me. Tie in the price tag and I just decided I had to go with the Fanatec.

The clubsport pedals are what really pushed me over the edge though, they just look exactly like what I need.

Early feelings are that T500RS wheel is great, but pedals leave quite a bit to be desired compared to Fanatec CSP.
